We used to go to Crabby Mike's ALL THE TIME. Then we found this place. It's our new favorite!!!
Love Captain George’s. As a local I go in the off season. Years ago, before the bar area was remodeled, my wife and I would go on Sunday. You could sit and eat and watch tv. Imagine drinking beer, eating crab legs and watching football. It was heaven I tell you.
Thanks for sharing! Sounds great!
The original Capt. George is in VA Beach/Williamsburg. Been to both. My absolute favorite restaurant of all time! Travelled from DC for my birthday dinner!
That's awesome! We love it too!
@@CarmenandBrian The first Capt. George's is in Va Beach. Home base.
@CarmenandBrian ya,ll should try the norfolk special next time ! That was pretty good last time I had it!! And like someone said main georges is in va beach!!
NOW THIS IS MY KIND OF BUFFET. EVERYTHING LOOKS SO GOOD. THANKS FOR SHARING, KEEP UP THE INCREDIBLE JOB 👏🏽👏🏽👍🏼😁
It was very tasty! Thanks for the kind words!
Everything looked tasty and fresh. Thank you for the report.
Glad it was helpful!
Looks great!
It's really good!
I came here years ago for my senior trip back in 2017. I’ve always wanted to come back to Myrtle beach and now I am this summer and I’ve been looking for this exact place bc I enjoyed it so much back then. Thanks for helping me find it haha!
Welcome back! 😊
Wow. That’s an amazing buffet
It really is! We enjoyed it!
OMG what a frigging buffet! Been coming to garden city with our kids now grandkids and never eaten in here since 1982. Wow what food. This year I'll make the trip
We definitely enjoyed it!
Going Saturday thank you so much for the vid can't wait to try it!!! My friend and I are literally going to the beach for this buffet 🤣🤣🤣
Hope you enjoy it!
Yum!
It was very yummy!
I will be in Myrtle Beach in 2 weeks...my 1st visit...this buffet looks really good!!!
It's so good! We hope you have a great trip!
Can't wait to be back. Love my seafood and Ultimate California Pizza. Big part of our vacation is eating. 😂 Crabby George's is one of our favorites up in NMB.
Eating is a big part of our vacations too! Thanks for sharing!
Been a while since we've been to that one, it is VERY good!!! Lately we've been doing Crabby Mike's, it's much closer to our resort and on par if not bettter.
We’re hoping to try crabby Mike’s soon. We keep hearing a lot of good stuff about it!
I've never been there, that made me hungry just watching😂
It's really good! Before we lived here we went at least once a year!
Love your videos ! My Husband and I will be down in May. Can you tell me what the temps are in the Evening . ??
Thank you! The weather in May is quite different near the beginning of the month than towards the end of the month. Also, the weather can vary a lot. I recommend checking a weather app the week before you come. The evenings are usually pleasant, but not cold.
Amazing video loved it. Buffet's like that one is why I love Myrtle Beach. I never been to that one though. Any chance you could do like other buffets. Question though is that one one of the more expensive ones to go too. And I didn't see that if they had crab cakes there.
Glad you liked it! The price is pretty average. Crabby Mikes is right at $50 also for example. We might do other buffets if/when the budget allows. I did not see any crab cakes.
@@CarmenandBrian My favorite one was the original Benjamin's Calabash seafood buffet. Cuz it has like all those really cool model ships and all in it. And it had a really big variety as well. And the food was so good. And I thought there was cheaper ones but I forgot you can use discounts to knock down the price. And yeah I can understand completely on the budget part because it definitely adds up that is for sure. And Carmen you did great saying what each item was as well.
Yes with tip for the two of us at the cheaper rate it was still $120!! Not something we can do super often. Glad the food descriptions were helpful!
Brian still says Skrimps 😁
haha yes he does! :)
Excellent Buffet.
However, why isn't anyone talking about Crabby Mikes? Because they are better than Captain George's
Been to both and tend to agree.
@enjoythesilence I 100% agree. We've eaten at almost all the buffets multiple times and they're hit or miss. One time great, next time terrible. Crabby Mike's is the only one we've found to be consistently good every single time we've been there.
We’ve heard a lot of good things about crabby Mike’s. We just haven’t been there yet.
id have to say if your going to do an all you can eat for the money and quality of food, this place is it. only did it couple times, just so $$$$ and we don't eat that much to get your money's worth, lol. but we have tried there locations in VA also and same quality. so would agree this place is top notch for all you can eat. nice review and showing what they have.
Glad you liked the video! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
We have been there! It's very good but a bit pricey!
We would agree with those comments!😊
I have been there. The food is okay.
Thanks for sharing!
Could you do a review of the Chesapeake house every time we go by there they always have a full parking lot…. Thanks
Thanks for the suggestion!
Dang i miss Captain George's! Why, oh why don't rhet have them sown in Florida
They are so good! Sorry you don't have one there! We'll have a new one out this year if your interested! We try to put an updated video of Captain George's out each year.
Original Benjamin’s!
Thanks for sharing!
In the 1990s we ate at Captain George's Restaurant a few times in Williamsburg Virginia and it was so much better than it is now. They used to serve homemade crab cakes and homemade crab imperial and stuffed shrimp with crab and a few other special items. Most restaurants have really going down in quality and really up in price, and most of the best restaurants that existed in the past 50 years are now gone. All my absolute favorite places are gone, closed forever. Seafood restaurants were so much better in the 1960s and 1970s then they are now. You said yum to the fried oysters. Those fried oysters are not that good. Years ago and still in some quality restaurants in the Northeast United States they would use large oysters and they would be lightly breaded and deep-fried whole. The oyster would be 2in to 3 in Long, and when you would cut into it, and it would be Juicy and Delicious. Now most places just coat them with some sort of batter and they're all crumbled up and thrown into the fryer and not even made correctly. All the shrimp is farm-raised on all of the buffets and all the salmon is farm raised. The best thing left on Captain George's Buffet are actually the snow crab legs and she-crab soup. The salad bar is nice.
We just ate there, and it was better than the one in Virginia Beach…
Glad to hear it!
@@CarmenandBrian they have blue crabs and that was a deal breaker for me…..
4:18 I will only eat snow crab legs. And a little vegetable.
Yes, the snow crab legs are where it’s at!
Does that come with a drink?
As far as I know, only water is free.
I also want to mention that I have not been to Captain George's for 3 years due to health issues. But the last time we were there, we were disappointed with the prime rib because all the years before that the prime rib was hand-sliced by the chef standing there, and then the last time we were there the prime rib was presliced and sitting in water on the steam table and we didn't even bother taking it because it did not look good. Would I still go to Captain George's possibly, but I would not eat 3/4 of the items.
Yes you're correct about the prime rib. It was still like that the last time we went.
Is the price the same for those who don't eat crab legs?
Yes, it’s one price for everyone unless it’s a child.
I had eaten here many times for many years and I always really liked it. But I became very suspicious of their fried scallops because they all looked exactly the same, like they were cut with a cookie cutter or something. I did some research and found out that a lot of seafood restaurants are serving fake scallops. So I questioned some of their employees and they admitted that the scallops are actually skate which is stingray. There was only one seafood buffet in Myrtle Beach that actually serves real sea scallops.
...and that is???
$49.99 no thanks.
It's pricey for sure!
from your video, personally, I think for $50, underwhelming.
They do have deals from time to time. It's a lot of money. We are locals and we usually go about once a year. It is our favorite buffet here.
Captain georges is horrible!!!!
Sorry to hear you don't like it!
I looks really good to me
