    Great videos. A little tip for pipe work for example at the 29:20ish mark when she is gluing the pipe and fittings if you glue the fitting onto the small piece of pipe first and then that into the main section of pipe. It’s easier to slope, because you are giving the slope to the pipe and not the fitting.

    Hi Tom! Great video demo. I wish we lived in your area and could have you install one for us as we are in the process of having a box replaced for a new driveway. Two questions for you as we get ready to replace the existing one.. The first is what type of drill bit you used to drill through the box and concrete. My second question is whether there was rebar inside the box used to support concrete in some fashion.

    • @tyelandscapinganddrainage
      @tyelandscapinganddrainage  Před 8 dny +1

      Thank you Karla. No rebar. The instructions didn’t call for it. Here is a link to the drill bit - Diablo DMAMX1140 3/4 in. x 16 in.... www.amazon.com/dp/B089KWP4WK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. Thanks again and good luck with your project, Tom

      Hello LVR, It is a shame. We usually tape with 2 gopros so if we loose one we have a backup, but both crapped out. We're going to find a way to use an umbrella to shade them when it's hot. Hopefully that does the trick. Thank you for your comment, Tom

  • @jswyman-ll3dr

    Looks nice.. Why were holes drilled in the bottom of the basin? I would have thought all the water would go through the pip out to the creek...

    • @tyelandscapinganddrainage
      @tyelandscapinganddrainage  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Thank you for your compliment. That's the way a catch basin works. The pipe is not supposed to be on the bottom of a catch basin so any debris falls to the bottom and is filtered out. Without holes the water would just sit there. I hope I answered your question. Thank again

  • @terrycummings81
    @terrycummings81 Před rokem +1

    Nice, but what I see from the " kempinger berlin drain videos" Germany, the baskets in the drains are useless, dirt still ends up in the bottom of the drains and plugs them up. no one ever takes the baskets out and cleans them either.

    Great video/ Great job.
    Question that is itching my brain and maybe you could help...
    When you set the receiver 1in lower 8ft from the laser that will work no matter the distance of trench to always achieve 1%? or is that the specific for your 20ft?
    Thanks

    • @tyelandscapinganddrainage
      @tyelandscapinganddrainage  Před 4 měsíci

      We have sloped the laser and that will work as far as the laser light goes. About a 1000 feet I believe. Have a good day

    What's your go-to for cutting asphalt? Concrete saw with a diablo blade? Or would any saw with a diablo blade work? Gonna use your downspout method for a gutter but have to go through some asphalt between there and the end of the downspout drain run.

    • @tyelandscapinganddrainage
      @tyelandscapinganddrainage  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hi Phil, In this video I'm using a dedicated asphalt blade. It worked great, but it's just for asphalt. In our latest paver video - Front yard makeover, I used a multi purpose blade and it worked fantastic. It went through asphalt, pavers and block like butter. Now I can just leave the one blade on and tackle everything. I hope I answered your question. Links below, Tom

    Where did you get the catch basin? I need to order one so my client can run over it with his truck in the yard. Also, what’s the reason to drill holes on bottom of the drain box? I’ll assume you want all water go in the pipe and not in ground under the box

    • @tyelandscapinganddrainage
      @tyelandscapinganddrainage  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Hello Matthew, I bought the catch basin on Amazon. The pipe is not at the bottom of the basin so the basin would hold a small amount of water if there were no holes.
