Everyone I don't fault Castle at all. This was a couple years old xlx2, been pushed hard and in many wrecks. cups soldered back in so it served me well. Batteries were good..

Nah man I've been 160s many times on these esc's, and 170 in my slash 4x4. This was a old abused esc.

@@philipjolley1015 Had 3 do that on me. One that was actually replaced. Then castle ignored me after the second one become a BBQ as well... Ive had Other ESC's fail on me but never catch fire. The XLX2 is flawed it fails in a catastrophic and dangerous way.

Sorry about the esc Phil but glad the damage was just the esc and battery. Looks like the rest of the car is intact.

I think it started when it lost signal at the beginning of the run. I had experience many times and thought it was the radio but not to long afterwards the esc goes. Wonder how many runs you had on it including test passes before it got tired. Nonetheless though I’m glad it was no wreck. The setup is still intact. Just have to test the batteries and see if it was that motor that caused an irregular surge through the esc. However, I love the experiment with mating two different competitors and seeing what results come from it.
Batteries were good, ran them next in the FG. I have had this esc for years, so it has had many ,many runs on it. Hard runs wrecks. Big motors, ect. Now that you mention it. Was funny how it had a glitch at the beginning, radio rarely looses signal. Thanks man.

good old famous crash teir 2 warranty replacement @$175 dollars. I Probably did teir 2 warranty about 12 times with castle.

Crazy the XLX2 burnt up with just a Hobbywing 1650kv on it…..sometimes this stuff just don’t make sense. Sucks to see you lose your body and stuff
yeah idk what happened just the time i guess. motor was not really pushing it . only 300a on 6s parallel. just a old esc.
