- Robbie Lawler doesn't care if he's on the prelims or not, he's still at the top as he heads into retirement.

This man came to fight every single time and put on a show with a knockout. Thanks Robbie for everything you've done for the fans and this sport.
Will never forget this man’s bloody stare down with Rory in the octagon one of my favourite fighters ever
Facts, it gave me goosebumps when I was watching it live
The champ is here. Awesome fight against Emmett
Legendary.... 2033 they'll still love it!!
@@levis503it's not the real Topuria you dope
Absolute DAWWWG!
Definition of career longevity. 90% of which was spent in the top 10 of a Super Tough division.
ALWAYS tried to finish fights. Nomatter the outcome. Extremely humble, respect for opponents. Even when Herb Dean called the fight early on Robbie. Costing Robbie over 100K. He still consoled Herb, telling him it wasn't his fault... It was obviously Herbs fault.
Class act outside of the gage and one RUTHLESS VICIOUS BAD MAN IN IT.
Love Ya Robbie, let's go out with a BANG Baby!
Respect to this warrior. Always entertained. Always showed up professional and made weight minimal injuries. Respect everyone remembers your fights before tyron got you

The stare-down with Rory at the end of r4 of UFC 189 is hands-down my favorite fight moment in history. Thanks Robbie.
With half his lip hanging off 😶
Glad Robbie has been getting his flowers the past couple of years. He deserves it, a beast in the cage and a compassionate guy outside it. HOFer no doubt
Apart from when GSP and Jose Aldo retired, Robbie Hanging up the gloves also hits home. You will be missed.
Thank you got all the wonderful memories Robbie.
Gsp overratedddd
@@griptoes3320 I don't think 7/11 gas station attendants such as yourself have any business judging the legacy of fighters

What a fighter and so humble he will be missed
Became a fan of this sport late into this man's career. So sad that I missed all his previous fights. After watching them all back, I can wholeheartedly say Robbie's a personal top 5. What a savage
Robbie Lawler is a real life Tekken character. Tremendous power, ferocious pressure, and relentless pursuit of the knockout. Savage personified.
Robbie is a legend of this sport, and the UFC as an organization specifically. His retirement fight should be nothing less than a main event on a numbered UFC card.
That isn't how it works. Lol. Most of yall just steal the shit for free anyway so I'm not sure why most fans think they are even allowed to have an opinion since they don't spend any money. But the whole point of ppv is to draw in the ppl who DO spend money. And most ppl aren't going to buy a ppv to watch an unranked main event. That don't even make sense. Main events are ppl who are relevant NOW, not the old dogs who used to be. That wouldn't sell anything. And Lawler is one of my favorite fighters ever. But you can't justify putting him on a main event. And they probably could've squeezed him into the main card but even there, the slots are limited and as a promoter you want to fill those with the most relevant fights right now. They could've maybe switched him with Bo, since Bo is just fighting a late replacement dude now. But he still got the feature fight off the prelims so it's not a terrible slot. And more ppl have access to the fight now too. Plus it'll make ticket holders get there earlier and that's more ppl spending money at the event... so it's all good. This is a sport and a business, this is how it works. The sport doesn't ignore what's relevant right now just because somebody USED to be relevant. It moves on. It keeps going. It builds the NEXT generation. It just is what it is. You don't get card placement based on your previous accomplishments.
@@themonsterbabyall that talking and you've said nothing. 🤡
If he is the main event of the prelims on free tv, he will have more eyes watching than the ppv. I don't know what slot his fight is. I am just assuming.
He’s competing on the card where his level currently is. To be any higher would be disrespectful to the current fighters who are more elite.
He’s already fighting on the best card of the year in the fight capital of the world. Real fans will still appreciate him, prelims or not.
@@themonsterbabyI pay for it, and I say put Robbie on the main card. Prelims is even disrespectful to us longterm viewers, as Robbie Lawler has been in the UFC forever, and this is his retirement fight. Like I pay for the PPV, and I cant watch his retirement fight now (prelims dont show in Germany). Doesnt make any sense.
Man he’s one of the last of the 2000’s gen fighters ): we’ve already had so many of the 2013-2018 guys go already, I have watched him since I was a kid and has always been one of my favorites. Mad respect ruthless I will miss your ability to brawl even in your late stage of your career deserves all the respect in the world
Jim Miller still killin it
@@Rome6601Jim Miller came after Robbie to be fair
Nick diaz still doin it 😂
Robbie Lawler is among top most important, game-changing fighters in MMA history, along with Frank Shamrock, Royce Gracie and few others (incl. Miletich and Hughes).
Royce for obvious reasons - the first to utilize dominant grappling style in MMA setting.
Frank Shamrock - being the first prototype fighter. (even today, I rarely see fighters possess the skillset he had)
And of course, Robbie, who is first after Frank Shamrock to implement strength-&-conditioning training with MMA (wrestling, boxing, kickboxing) way back when he was in Iowa.
Miletich Training Systems were used in the rest of American gyms and influenced the style of MMA we see today like no other. ATT is literally built on it, and so is AKA and other places.
GOAT shit.
I feel so shitty because I barely started getting into this shit 2020 so I'm only seeing the newer fighters but I remember in 2008 watching Anderson Silva highlights and GSP,etc.. but I never got to see them fight. This will be my first time watching all the fighters on the main card except bo and it was my first time watching jon live other than highlights like ten years ago. Fuuuuckk I missed out a lot but there's been some good fights hahaha
Robbie has been my favorite fighter, sad to see him retire.
One of the most savage fighters.
AmaZINGly Candid and its only 1:20 in to the interview SO humble and Wise. Thanks for EVERYTHING ROBBIE LAWLER> THe Wars and Heart!!!!
Legendary robbie lawler . I smiled all the interview. Amazing .
What a guy he is. Legendary, absolutely legendary. Hope he lives a happy life post career. ❤
If you a real one, you remember watching lawler vs nick diaz 1. He was one of my favorites. Loved his strikeforce run too. He was a bad mf. Still is but back in the day I absolutely loved watching this dude fight. He is so laid back and soft spoken. Until that cage door closes....
Man, those were the days.
My favorite mma fight. Robbie doesn’t even seem like the same person as he was. I’m a die hard Diaz fan but Robbie is one of the best to do it.
Wait so ufc knows this is his retirement fight and still put him on the prelims? Robbie lawler been putting on bangers for the ufc for years and this how they repay him? Wtf Dana
Heading on free tv is even better
@@ryanoleary9516 i wish they had given him a softball.
U know he wouldn't want or take one ....Niko is good hopefully he too respectfull like he was against cowboy I believe it was and is gun shy

Love Robbie 💪🏽 hope nothing but the best for the man . And hope for the win on Saturday! Lego!
One of my all time favorite fighters. Thanks for the memories Robbie. Good luck on your swan song..... I'd love to see you go out on a big finish. Enjoy life after fighting. You've earned it.
End of an era. What a fighter - Ruthless 👊
I will never forget the "his soul" interview
What were you gonna take?.............. His soul.
Gonna miss this guy 😭
This guy will forever be great; I love the fact that he just sits there letting everyone know he would rather be somewhere else regardless of the question, date or time...
I dig it...
Gotta love Robbie. Absolute legend in the sport and a genuinely great human being that seems like he would give the shirt off his back to his worst enemy if they needed it.
Nothing but respect to this guy. First time I saw him he basically pounded Tiki’s skull into dust when it was on the mat. That was well over 20 years ago and I’ve seen his career take a roller coaster. That bloodbath he was in vs Rory will always be a go to must watch fight. Hope he can pull off the hail
Mary Saturday night and ride off into the sunset.
RUTHLESS - such a warrior. Thanks Robbie Lawler. Legend.
Man, Robbie has always been my favorite fighter. Just a pure savage in the ring and managed to technically improve over time to always stay at the top. Just a beast, as soon as he started that walk to the Octagon. Incredibly nice, calm guy outside the cage... never talking trash.
I hope he dominates in his last fight 🙏🏻
Underrated fighter . My favorite welterweight champion of all time besides GSP . Most entertaining champion and toughest for sure . His fights with Rory will always be the most brutal fights of all time
Respect brother thanks for being real. You set a real tone for others 💯
True og of the sport...all the love for your future stay ruthless and thank you 🙏
You are a true warrior. Win lose or drawl you always gave it your all and we could tell you truly wanted to fight. You have had one hell of a career and I wish you great success in whatever you do once you hang up the gloves BUT this Saturday I hope you go out in style gladiator.
Your favorite fighters favorite fighter. Living legend. Thanks for the ride Ruthless 🙏
Damn puttin Rob on the prelim is sad . I mean at least sone ppl get to see it for free but this warrior deserves respect and a big payday!
Love this interview thanks rob
Legend!!
Been a real privilege to watch this man since he was 18!
And yes pride rules were the best !
Thanks Robbie!
Robbie has been a warrior since the beginning. I remember his early years, him getting out of the ufc for a while, then what returned was a different guy, one who could and did become a champion. Always up for a brawl, always entertaining. Definitely time to hang them up, but Robbie should end up in that hall of fame. The ruthless one. Him vs Rory was one of the best ever fights. Changed both men forever. Robbie lip was hanging off, Rory nose was destroyed. Been a wild ride.
Such a great example. It was an honor to watch you compete warrior.
Robbie Lawler is a legend of the sport. I love how he looks uninterested on fight week, but delivers.
Listening to this interview really opened my eyes to how amazing this dudes mindset it when it comes to fighting. I’ve been a fan of his for years but hadn’t had much insight into his mind.
God bless you Mr Lawler
And thank you...🙏🇬🇧
True OG of the game. His fights with Rory and Condit will always be two of my favorite fights ever.
Legend!! Love this guy
9:36 Robbie with a great answer to this question. A true veterans response.
It is bullshit his last fight is on the prelims. He's a legend in the sport, former champ, and he's given us some of the best fights this sport has ever seen. He's a great fighter and he will be missed.
Quite simply, One of the best, ever!!!! You cannot describe a guy like him other than the Epitomy of what "tough" is!!!!
one of my favorite fighters good luck in retirement and may we win on Saturday
Win or lose, Robbie put out so much epic scraps. Congrats on a great career. Respect from Hawaii.🤙🏽
Absolute Legend of the sport, theres only one Ruthless. The 189 fight with Rory is still the fight i introduce all of my friends to if they have any interest in mma. Thankyou for everything Robbie, absolute class for 20 years.

First time I saw Robbie against Nick Diaz at UFC 47. Best fight vs Rory McDonald. Thank you Robbie ❤!

The word "Legend" gets misused a lot. Not in this case.
He truly is a legend in this game.
Thanks for the memories, Ruthless Robbie Lawler
One of my favorite fighters ever.
Very big respect to Robbie!!!!
What a damn good career he had for the UFC. Not too many fighters can see every single one of their fights were entertaining, win or lose.

Much love to you Robbie,,
What a warrior Robbie, what a warrior! I would be watching
Absolutely one of my favorite fighters of all time
love Robbie man
He is so nice and easy going but then an absolute killerin the cage, he deserves all the praise, legend.
I love Robbie and have watched him from day one.. He is really one of the last OG badass mofos and he will be missed terribly. The era where it was about fighting, getting better and no frills ass kicking. The unfortunate thing is that moving forward in MMA it is all about views, likes, money and popularity. Very sad state of affairs. GOOD LUCK BRO!!!! You are a machine!!! HALL OF FAME!! Put him on the main card Dana!!! Let him go out on his shield..
Legend....
Dudes a legend never a boring fight
Such a role model❤
🙌 Legend 💯
Another legend gone damn I'm getting old
The era we grew up on is retiring right before our eyes boys 😢.
great dude ! how can you not like Robbie !
Straight class.
First time I saw him fight was back in 2005 in a local MMA promotion in Hawaii. Been a fan every since.
Dude honestly looks good for how many wars he's had and how long he's been in the game. Such a respectful guy who turns into a mothafuckin demon when it's time to throw down
Inside the octagon he's nothing like the fighter he once was. Nowadays he's slow and old.
What a legend. A true fighter.
Legend.
Coolest dude ever!💪❤️🔥
Win, lose,and champ.
Still the same guy. He actually makes me a better person.
