- Watch me lace Autumn Cat Sampler while I'm cranky. Doesn't that sound fun? It probably won't be. But maybe you'll learn something. Just don't forget it's not a tutorial. xoxoxo

Thank you for sharing this … happy stitching 😊❤ Dena
Thank you so much for this video. It was on my screen when I opened CZcams, and because I usually watch everything of yours, I decided that perhaps I would watch another lacing. This is by far the best way to do the lacing. Easy, fast, done in minutes, not hours. Loved your joke. Thanks again.
This was very helpful to me! Thank you so much. ❤
You had me at ' Lazy' 👍🏻😊😁 This was a most awesome non-tutorial! I've dabbled in lacing and it makes me hangry and irritable, too 🤣 You do make it look easy and your finish is beautiful!! Thank you for sharing!
I know you don't think this is a tutorial, but I think you did a great job and will be referring back to this video in the future. 💜
Very useful! Thank you for sharing your “not a tutorial” method/technique 😉🤣🤗
Love It! Thank You
Thank you! This was very useful. I love the idea of lacing it while keeping the thread on the spool.
Lovely non-tutorial. Amazing picture too. Congrats. I found it easier to lace the shorter sides, then cover them by lacing the longer sides of the fabric laps on top.
You are truly a powerhouse,talent-wise.
I do not stitch,I merely love seeing the history that is stitching.
You do it well, and that is clearly an understatement!
And,furthermore, that is a SHOCKINGLY beautiful piece of work.
That cat is stunning.
I love this very much!
Hangry but still cognizant of not over correcting. A skill on its own. Thanks for the not a tutorial.
You make this look so easy, Stephanie! I am desperate to learn how to stretch, pin, or lace my own stuff. Two recent visits to Hobby Lobby made me realize I will do a much better job on my own stuff than anyone else will. I had to take my most recent one apart, repin it, and am gathering the supplies to put it all back together. UGH. Thanks for this info! Great job-for a " not a tutorial! "
Leaving the thread on the spool = game changer. Thank you so much for this non-tutorial!!
Thank you Stephanie! I watched this video when you first released it, and I just rewatched as I laced a piece for myself. Super helpful and made me feel less intimidated! Hooray for DIY FFOing!
Thank you!
I learned quite a bit from your video. The triangle cut for folding is super as is leaving the thread in the spool. Thank you!!
Thank you, Stephanie1
Thanks for doing this, Stephanie! Your piece turned out beautifully.
Thanks Leslie!! xo
Absolutely perfect time for this to come through my feed! I’m lacing my first piece tomorrow!
Hope it went fantastically!
This was a super awesome non-tutorial, and I loved your joke as you were tightening the thread in the back.
Hi Lindy, thank you for the great demonstration (not tutorial😊😊). It was great!! I watched your video and was so excited to try it, I grabbed small finished project I had been ignoring and did exactly what you showed... It worked perfectly!!! Thank you again for sharing. Take care😊😊!!
What!!! Go Jacqueline! I'm so glad it was helpful to you!
Great video! Tip from old quilter...you can use a friction pen and simply draw the border using that quilters ruler. Once you have it even and the drawn line is on edge of fabric and all laced up, you simple run edge of iron on drawn line and it disappears. The line would not show anyway even without heat removal as it will be inside frame edge.
Yes, this was helpful, so thank you. I learned the benefit of sewing fabric to the edges of the cross stitched fabric because doing all the lacing with folded-over 14-count Aida gets really thick and so hard to manage. Also the triangle cut-out tip was good. Seam gauges -- yes, they are very helpful. I still have the same one my mother bought for me when I took Home Ec in 1962! Use it all the time.
Beautiful work!
What a beautifully stitched piece! Enjoyed learning how you lace.
Thanks for this video. I will try to lace my pieces again! Happy Stitching.
Thank you.
Seam gauge will be a game changer. I have watched a ton of videos about framing and I liked this one best… because you have a great attitude!
Thank you Elle!!
Thank you for teaching us this lacing technique... This is so useful in our craft...
Hello from Oklahoma! Thanks for this not tutorial! It was very helpful and your "lazy" attitude toward lacing helped take the axnt out of trying it! I think you are very talented and enjoy watching your floss tubes.
Very helpful! Thanks Stephanie.
Thanks so much for making this video! I have one of those seam gauges. Now it will be used for framing. I learned a few more things from you.
Thank you for the "not tutorial "! I learned alot watching you-
That piece of stitcher is beautiful !!💜💜 I have a few finished stitching pieces waiting for their hime....now to measure and find a frame !
very helpful video! Thanks for taking the time!
Yes it was thank you Steph for sharing!
This was very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you - very useful - I’ve got several finishes that I need to frame!
Thank you so much for this video. I don't like finishing, but I think your video will help me alot!
Just what I needed today Stephanie, thank you. I have the daunting task of trying to lace 2 historical peacocks, you helped me tremendously!
I'm so glad Jay!!!!
Loved it 💖
This was so helpful for me! Thanks for your “not-a-tutorial” video!!
I'm so glad, Becky! xo
Great non tutorial! I learned a lot💕
Thanks for the not tutorial it will make my life much better .
Thanks for sharing, and for doing this video even though you were cranky. I get a bit cranky just by thinking about lacing and finishing my projects, I definitely prefer stitching (don’t we all?) but I need to learn it and start doing it now. So thanks, I will be coming back to this and your recent tutorial.
Thanks for the tutorial!
Very helpful. Thanks!
Thank you!!! So helpful! 😁
Thank you so much for making this video. I have felt like a total looser when I have ever tried to lace. You have given me some confidence to try it again. I actually have a seam gauge that had belonged to my mom and I never knew what to do with it. Now I do!
Hahaha, three other people said the same thing----I have a seam gauge I never even use. I actually had two and never used them either, until now! Super handy. :)
Thank you for your posting...the seam gauge is a big help...I am getting ready to finish a few pieces...appreciate all do do...the patterns I ordered were a big hit with my husband too🌻
You're welcome and thank YOU!
Thanks for the tips, ie. not cutting the thread and cutting the ends as a triangle ! Will do that next time, happy stitching !! xx
You're welcome! Glad it was useful. :)
Thank you for demonstrating lacing. I have always just pinned all sides because i did not understand lacing. It always bothered me leaving the pins in. I am going to try lacing on my next project!
Yay!!
Jeebus! That seam gauge... I'm having one of those "Why didn't I think of that" moments! That is going to save me a lot of frustration.
I know right! Somehow I have two and I never used the before! xo
Very helpful! Thank you. I knew there was a reason I kept my grandmother’s old seam gauge. Now I know!
I know right! I somehow have two of them that I never ever used until now.
Thank you for the non-tutorial tutorial, LOL! This was very helpful for me.
Pretty pretty pretty!
Thank you for the great un-tutorial!
I enjoy your videos. This was very helpful . Thank you. I might even try it 😳🤪😩😱😬
Do it, Roxy!!
Thank you thank you !
Great information. Not A Tutorial. Awesome piece. TFS (Pauline S)
Thanks, seeing this explains it. Is it always best to attach a thinner fabric to the edges?
I’m going to have to give this a go. I have three things that need framing 🤦♀️
You need to mark the center of each side on you stitch piece and on your backing board. Then line up all the center points of the board and the fabric then pin.also put batting the fabric.
Love this!! Thankyou. Do you have a link or exact name of the paper board to buy? I am house bound. Thanks Pam Wesselink
Great tip with the seam gauge! Why did the chicken cross the playground? To get to the other slide. ;)
Now I know two! Thank you Darla. 😆
What type of material did you attach to you art work? Is it satin binding tape?
Thank you, Stephanie🙏 I like your tutorial a lot😍 great job👍 May I ask Q pls: how thick is your foam core ? Local craft shop has them 3 and 5 mm)
Thank you for doing this "None Tutorial" Video.. Questions as to where you get your frames.
I loved joke btw.. its one of my daughters Favorites too.. Here's another one she loves.. What do you call a guy with no arms or legs hanging on the wall...
Art
Have a great day and Happy Stitching
Ground beef LOL LOL 🐄❤️
Question on your foam core board, Did you have your framer cut it or did you do it yourself?
Thanks for the non tutorial Stephanie!
Up until this point I just had my framer cut them for me due to aforementioned laziness, and it's pretty cheap. This time I cut it myself. The only downside to cutting it yourself is that those sheets from Hobby Lobby are huuuge. xo
I definitely need a seem gauge in my life lol
Sooooooo handy so you can be soooo lazy.
That little metal ruler is called a seam gauge- lol!!! Karen of Prom Queen Stitcher 🤓.
I'm so sorry, I actually learnt something from your NOT TUTORIAL! It'll be our secret 😉
How dare you!!!
