As someone who has lived for some time in Japan, go with the smaller car. It doesn't need to be a K-car, but the big Toyota will be hella stressful to park and navigate in most urban places. Additionally, most roads in Japan are in good condition, so unless you're planning on driving into the mountains in Hokkaido, go for the smaller more urban car. Toyota still looks cool though haha

That butterfly knife though, I hope it's completely blunt because it's SO illegal in Japan and will get you a 7day+ trip in jail and then quick sentencing for fines if police catch you in your possession. This includes the car. Put it in a lockable box with fishing gear at the back of the car if you really need to have it with you.
I’d definitely go for a smaller car. I know a ton of people who moved to japan and all regretted getting anything bigger after getting stuck on narrow streets or never finding parking

I think it has something to do with growing up in Sweden. They're somewhat of a socialist country, and it creates a different atmosphere than most of these other people. They are all about capitalism, so they grow up thinking having more and more and more is better, but it just leaves you empty inside.

As someone that has lived in Japan, I'd recommend a smaller car. Either that or get two cars, one smaller and one that you like for trips out of town. The streets in Japan are usually more narrow and so the bigger cars can be a hassle to have when trying to fit in places with traffic coming the opposite way as well as parking. I remember some mountain roads that were narrow as hell with two way traffic and thinking about trying to be careful and fit those and not get really close to oncoming traffic cars gave me anxiety. Don't sleep on public transportation in Japan too. You can literally live without a car and just use public transit in Japan easily.
That was my thought on it too I have several friends who live in Japan and most of them own a sports car that they used to get around town and then when they are out and about they have a bigger sedan

btw, If you want to try Yakiniku and Shabushabu at the same time, I recommend Rokkasen in Shinjuku. It is so good!
As someone living in Japan, I'd say go with a smaller car! You'll start to notice how small the roads are and how tight the parking spots are and you'll wonder why you ever got the big one haha. Maybe a Suzuki Jimny if you want the feel of a slightly bigger car (kind of like the jeep of japan lol). They're quite popular right now! Especially since you're a new driver in Japan, I'd say smaller is better. If you get two vehicles I feel like a Suzuki Lapin could really suit Marzia! Don't forget to pay your road tax and be patient with Japanese drivers. (Also I'm not sure if they do it in the prefecture you are at but often times if someone flashes their hazards at you they are saying thank you!)
The Jimny would be perfect, such a fun car, great advice.

Advice: don’t get the big car. Sure, it looks cool, but there are lots of roads in Japan that are too narrow for you to safely drive that on. Especially in rural areas like where I live. You’ve got enough to deal with, getting used to driving on the other side of the road, etc. you shouldn’t have to worry about falling off the edge of the road and getting your tire stuck in an irrigation ditch as well. @@justinr8465 like I still love my dogs, for what they are, dogs. And do spoil them in a way that benefits them, like raw food, toys, exercise. I want my dogs to be spoiled in that way, not in the bad way of them being overweight and humanized like so many people do.
