Crape Myrtles bloom in summer so you still haven’t missed your bloom time :) 17:20 is an iris. There are cold hardy orchids as well, every US state has at least one native species
Our Crepe Myrtle bloomed around mother's day last year thats why I was wondering if maybe it won't be blooming this year. But hopefully it will! I was so curious so I asked my mom again and she did indeed confirm it is a cold hardy orchid that she planted there. Thanks!
I was jumping of joy when I saw you posted a video! I miss your videos! Love your garden! I live in south Florida so will have to research if I can grow allium in my area.
Awesome!
Your garden is so beautiful, you have been busy👍🌷
💚🌱🌵☘️💚
Beautiful garden 🪴 enjoy watching your videos 🥰
Thank you 😊
Garden is looking great! Love peonies, so pink and pretty ❤😊. Thanks for the tour. Nice that you are having good weather where you are!
Thanks! Peonies are just such gorgeous flowers with their large fluffy blooms!
I can’t believe how your outside garden has flourished. Breathtaking. All the colors so vibrant. I’m sure the little one must love playing outside now that it’s going warmer.
Thank you! 💕 i love those big fluffy peonies! And yes omg, once the little guy is outside its hard to get him to come back in. 😆
I loved your NY city apartment but wow this must feel so good to have space to enjoy and use all your gardening skills and love! The plants are really flourishing.
Oh yes, i loved the city apartment life but to be able to have this outdoor space is amazing.
Stacy you have such a nice garden and it’s not even that old. With the allume that are blooming, you should cut a few before the go to seed and spray them with something like a hairspray but stronger and keep them for a nice little arrangement. I love them too I live in a zone 5 with really clay soil so any kind of bulb just rots on me. Keep up the great work. Oh, I wanted to know the name of that lavender daisy too, so I looked it up and if this is right it’s called, Outsidepride Erigeron. Azure Fairy, Showy Daisy, Aspen Fleabane. They call the flower blue. 😊
Thanks so much!! ❤️ I should try that with the alliums thanks for the tip. I didn't know hairspray keeps flowers longer. Aw man, have you tried growing bulbs in containers then? I love growing bulbs so much, its like a nice little surprise come spring. ☺️ And thanks for finding out the name of the plant!
@@mypetitegarden well I know we use to use hair spray because you don’t want the them to fall apart. I’m sure there’s something better out there now but I haven’t looked. I should try planting in pots, you gave me something to think about, thanks!😊
Oooo I am so glad to see a video. Clicked on it real fast.
🥰🥰
Nice garden!
Thank you 😊 💓
Hello neighbor, I’m also on Long Island ( Suffolk county) and I feel the same way, I grow perennials and flowering shrubs in my beds and along the driveway and annuals in containers. You’re spot on about alliums I love them so much, the globe masters and so beautiful , and I love your serendipity. I’m pausing and screen shotting some of your plants 😂, your garden is beautiful 🤩. I’m training my rose of Sharon into a tree form to keep the suckers from spreading, they can be invasive so be care. Not to be a bad influence but I’ve been on a rose kick and David Austin roses are 🤭🤩🥰 gorgeous!
Thanks so much! I love growing bulbs especially alliums!! There are so many varieties and all look so stunning! Haha I would love to grow roses but I am deathly afraid of thorns, I have a rosebush in my front garden from the previous owners and I avoid it 😆. Are there roses without thorns?
Yw, definitely there are roses without thorns, I bought a few at Hicks’s in Westbury. But alliums are also my fave along with heuchera, there are so many varieties and they stay evergreen for us which is so 😊. Can’t wait for a mid summer tour🙌
🥰🥰🙏
Hi Stacy! Did you leave your peony containers outside all winter...or did you store them? So neat they came back :)....love your outdoor space so much....are you going to put them in the ground or just keep growing them in the containers? Very clever :)
I kept them in their containers outside as is over winter after I cut them all the way back. I might put them in ground next year. We shall see 😁.
Your garden looks so pretty!! And I love your Peonies, they are my favorite outdoor plant!!
They are so gorgeous!! Those big fluffy blooms. 😍
Thank you for mentioning the christophii, I did not save the tags and have been wondering what it is. I also am loving it so much. I have that scotch broom for 3yrs and have not found it to be invasive…yet. I got it thinking it was pale yellow blooms, which I had in my previous home and loved, but it turned out to be red and blooms seem sparse. Might pull it this fall. I hope you will video when the mystery orchid blooms, the leaves alone look pretty, reminds me of clivia with those deep orange blooms. How are your begonias doing?
Yeah we will see how the scotch broom does. I was intrigued with the structure and texture of it. Hopefully that mystery plant/orchid will bloom so we can find out what it actually is 😆. I actually do not have any begonias.
`wow very beautiful garden and plants 😊👌🌿🌱🍃🪴
Your garden is beautiful, I think the plant at the end looks like a bearded iris?
Your garden is looking lovely. The Heucheras are gorgeous! I enjoy seeing the different plant varieties. Don't worry your Crepe myrtle will probably bloom. Down south they bloom in the summer during the hottest months. Both my dark leaf and green leaf Crepe myrtles are lush with foliage also. What color blooms is yours?
Thank you! Mine blooms purple (surprise surprise lol) our tree bloomed around mothers day last year thats why i was wondering if it will be blooming this year.
@mypetitegarden Now that you mention it, mine started blooming early last year too, which I thought was really strange. Lol
Wow, its looking great!
The mystery plant at 19:56 is likely an Erigeron (Or maybe an Aster), perhaps Erigeron speciosus?
Since you like Allium, I wonder if you've tried to grow Allium schoenoprasum (Common chives) as an ornamental? They have wonderful pink pom-pom blooms and the foliage is nice and glaucous. It's different than Asian chives/Garlic chives (Allium tuberosum) which gets flowers similar to the Alliums at 7:40 but with more lush foliage.
Did you overwinter the Peonies in the pots? I've never tried that, it sounds fun.
Yes i actually saw the plant again at another garden center and it is indeed an aster! Thanks so much! I have not tried the common allium but now im tempted. Pink pom poms sounds like a great addition to my allium collection 😆. And yes I did overwinter the Peonies in the terracotta pots!
Just a word of warning.. I planted allium bulbs and this is the 3rd spring and they seeds have been spread all through my garden.. I enjoy the clusters but not the wild look of alliums everywhere...
Oh boy, part of me is like kind of excited to hear that 😆 but I might regret it later on. 😅
I pulled out soooo many so I can keep "clusters"
Beautiful. What don’t you use a hose
I do sometimes when I need to water all of the plants in the flower beds as well but sometimes if its just a few of the container plants I prefer to just use a watering can.
@@mypetitegarden make sense.
Iris plant beautiful small garden not to much.
Do you winter your perennials outside in there pots?
I overwinter all my perennials outside as they are. 😃
@@mypetitegarden wow! I’m going to try this! I’m in zone 5b (Canada) so it may be too cold but I’ll do an experiment lol.
