He didn’t hate the car, but he’s somebody who doesn’t love cars so definitely couldn’t resist taking the profit. If Ferrari has to get people to sign an agreement to not sell their cars before they’re two years old that means the scarcity is artificial and that’s how they are creating it. All businesses make and sell as many widgets as they comfortably can, though for all goods and services in all unmanipulated markets buyers (not sellers) set prices. The buyer will offer a higher price if he perceives scarcity so that’s why Ferrari wants to make it look like there are more buyers then Ferraris…but how stupid would Ferrari be to not see to it that there are at least as many (plus more) Ferraris as buyers, duh lol. Putting it in a casino and charging cover is having his cake and eating it. And it’s more for his ego than particularly advantageous for Ferrari. I know there are people who will buy a Ferrari with a big win, and it probably does make sense to have a satellite dealership location next to the high limit room with a few new Ferraris that kind of customer might impulsively buy, because If there really was a Ferrari shortage the customer who’d be interested and could afford to gamble that big would already be in line/ready to order and give a deposit for his next one at another dealership. Ferrari shortage LMFAO yeah right there’s barely any actual automobile shortage even during a pandemic as production was halted specifically anticipating tanked demand.

Drove it for a couple of years and when the new Mazda3 came out in 2014 I sold the CX5 privately and went to my Mazda guy to buy the 3. He asked me about the CX5 and when I told him I sold it he had a look of disbelief on his face, almost like betrayal.
