As a 67 year old guy, I must say that Cher still makes my heart feel like its flying, she is so pretty. I have always loved her, and those wonderful days. I am so thankful for being alive through those beautiful years, and would gladly return. Peace !!
I remember watching this as a teenager......we never missed this show! Watching this makes me long for real entertainment not the garbage you get today.
Same here, Starr - Love Cher, but have to say I missed the chemistry that she had with Sonny. When they got together again for the show, to me it was even funnier now that Cher knew she had equal footing with Son. She does a beautiful job with the Some Children See Him ballad. Merry Christmas, Starr! :)
Wish the ambience of this time could be bottled. Oh sure every generation has its troubles. But Holidays shined. Saturday morning cartoons when the parents slept in meant as many bowls of Honey Combs and Fruit Loops as a tummy could hold. Families spent time together. The drive in movies with popcorn and candy vendors. Every Holiday had TV specials that made a heart smile. Music was awesome. Every Child had perused the Sears and Wool Worths cataloge multiple times, with dog eared pages and shining expectations of Santa leaving gifts for Christmas. A new dress and shoes for Easter, shopping for Halloween Costumes in little boxes with plastic outfits and face plate masks held on with elastic. Huge spreads of food every Thanksgiving. 8 track cassettes, record collections. We played outside and walked to the store and no one bothered us. Then there is the world today.
Beauty and talent in one package. Cher was my icon as a girl. How I wanted to be like her. 66 years later I still admire her. Talent that never ages. Nor does her beauty😃.
What a wonderful Christmas show I forgot what a great comedic talent she is. Cher can do it all sing act drama and comedy to perfection. Love her character portrayals SOOO funny. I have several of Cher's CDs and I listen to them often. Thank you so much for sharing this 70's entertainment. Cher is a class act and chooses her own road.
Robin Lee Gone. But not forgotten. We always have the hope of seeing and making more great television like this again sometime. Thanks to the internet, we can ALL record videos and share them with the world!
Brings back good memories of my childhood. Mom and I watched the Sonny and Cher show weekly. I don't specifically remember this Cher episode after they divorced. But we may have watched it. Glad to see that Cher had some good songs about baby Jesus in this Christmas special.
@ChildOfThe1970s Jesus (Yeshua ben Yosef) was not born on December 25th. Some biblical scholars estimate he would’ve been born in early fall based on scripture. This date was first observed in 336 AD, some 24 years after the Roman emperor Constantine established Christianity as the state religion. Apparently, Pope Julius I chose to replace the pagan winter solstice feast in honor of Mithra, the “Unconquered Sun,” that had been officially recognized by the emperor Aurelian in 274 AD. As many Christians are aware, the modern Christmas celebration combines many strands of tradition including the ancient Roman pagan festival of Saturnalia (merrymaking, exchange of presents), the old Germanic midwinter customs (Yule log, decorating evergreen trees), the tradition of Francis of Assisi (displaying the crib, or crèche of Jesus), the medieval feast of St. Nicholas (Sinterklaas in Dutch, hence “Santa Claus”), and the British sending of greeting cards (1840s). The Puritan pilgrims did not celebrate Christmas because of its many unbiblical associations. The holiday was officially recognized in the United States in 1870. So it’s a giant mishmash of beliefs and traditions. It can be a beautiful Season of Light and Love, in any case.
Yeah, I often wondered if she became more famous because of him or he became more famous because of her. He did all of Carol Burnett's clothes for her show, but nobody modeled his more elegant clothes like Cher. She was his person runway model.
I never got The Lennon Sisters in my youth, but now I'm old enough to realize the great vocal harmonies these women possessed. Trying to catch up. Cher did a great job here as well when she sang softly and tenderly.
Cher is so down to earth and lets anything just roll off her back that one of my favorite parts of this episode is when she borrows the Santa Hat and beard from one of the orchestra members and he says his wallet is in there and she ad libs. And when she pulls the seat out for Chaz and lifts her up.
she is Chastity at that time...I hate when people rewrite history. She was a beautiful little blond girl and her mother loved dressing her up in girly girl outfits
I love watching these vids on you tube, if I stay in my house I can almost feel like I was back in those times. I hope when I die I can be back there for eternity.
Chasity was a beautiful and absolutely adorable "little GIRL". NO amount of surgery or warped mind set will change HER DNA. God created her a GIRL not a guy!

Little Chasity was so cute, bless her sweet heart. She would have been a beautiful woman.
Oh, that beginning with her doing White Christmas like an old time syren...then she is Cher again! What talent and beauty
They don't make Christmas specials like this anymore. Such a shame
It hurts to see her with her little girl but her little girl is no more.
Exactly
The variety shows of the 70’s were the best
quite often the best part of Christmas was the lead up to it with fantastic 70s shows like the fabulous CHER 🎄
