Three historic sites

We spent a few days visiting ancient sites in this region of Turkey. Karahan Tepe is the sister-site of Göbekli Tepe (which we visited later). It is amazing to see what some believe to be the earliest human village dating to between 9000 - 11000 BCE (older than Göbekli Tepe). Following we visited Sumatar, an ancient watering place with tombs and ruins, and Harran founded 2500 - 2000 BC and which twice served as capital city in the Middle Ages.
