I’ve been a fan of Michael Manring for over 30 years, it’s great to hear he’s still got “it”!
I quite possibly could have gotten lessons from Michael waaaayyyy back.. (jammed once with someone that did), but by the time I was good enough to be serious about it.., Michael was out touring and getting well known.. Respect.., and Michael is a good dude.. very considerate.. He and many, many others have provided wonderful listening and inspiration through the years.. 🎶 ❣️ 👍

Goodness me 4:17 to 4:42 was rather tasty! I mean, ALL of it was great but that... I think even Mr Manring was rather pleased with it!
The tones at 4:10 and 5:10 are mind-blowing! Was there a synth faded in or was that all e-bow and FX?
That's all e-bow and effects. It seems like so much more.

Rambling, directionless, simplistic. I once considered Manring a decent enough composer but now I'm not sure.
Maybe you should consider asking yourself what it is he knows that you don't.
If you're not sure about something, that means you don't know enough about it.
Maybe he's just gotten better at playing than your ears have at hearing.

Maybe that’s the point of this particular composition. It’s a ambient. I think this composition is more about the sound instead of the direction. It sounds beautiful.
Does everything have to be complex to be beautiful?
