    I *just today* ordered one of those blue power cell windows! Thanks for the tutorial!

  • @thedoctor755

    Yeah that clear blue window is much better. I am using a chunk of blue acrylic from Tap Plastics for mine.
    I do like that battery setup... I already had that same Talentcell for another project, but this is perfect. The pack is OK running on the 5V from the USB port though? I know the D-cells add up to 6V, but think I saw something about the 5V is good with the addition of extra speakers & the rest of the stock pack. I haven't cracked mine open yet to check all that :)

    • @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy
      @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy  Před rokem +2

      From what I’ve read the 5V is good to go.

      @@TheProtonPackIsNotAToy Matt, I'm using 4 rechargeable D cells, each rated at 10,000mAh.
      Is the Talentcell better at 6,000mAh?

    • @CraigRivest
      @CraigRivest Před rokem +2

      Yes, the board actually steps the voltage down to 4.3 volts internally.

    • @thedoctor755
      @thedoctor755 Před rokem +2

      @@SpaceWizardCosplay if the pack's board limits the voltage, it probably also can limit the amps. I need to do more homework on what the board's components actually do (probably on that GBF forum thread on "stay alive" mods... that dude seems to have the whole thing dissected)

    I just picked up mine for my birthday and am super excited to mod mine and make it my own. Thank you for the ideas. I do not have a 3d printer but it's awesome to see the conversion. How long does the pack last?

  • @youknow9092
    @youknow9092 Před rokem

    When you did the Talenctell mod, the wires that come off the inside of the motherboard for the D batteries that has the JST plug. Opening the pack it seems those go right where the Talentcell gets mounted.

    • @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy
      @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy  Před rokem +2

      I noticed that afterwards and never posted an update. I moved the wires over without cutting them, just wiggled the metal part loose, then it made more room. There’s still the hint of a bulge there.

  • @andy86i
    @andy86i Před rokem

    I have the same battery pack, and when the charge is low, at 3/5 bars, if you flip activate on the wand, it cuts out. I decided to cut the wires to the rumble motor on the wand, as it sucks too much power. No problems after that. I actually prefer it with no rumble..

    • @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy
      @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy  Před rokem

      I’m curious how quickly it will drain. I honestly don’t expect to be powering it on that much.

  • @ready-to-believe
    @ready-to-believe Před rokem

    Awesome as always!!! How much room does that USB cable take up? I want to put a JBL Go 2 in the hidden compartment. I want to attach the JBL to the inner speaker by cable. This greatly increases the volume of the pack plus play some GB movie music Bluetooth from my phone! I am also looking to replace the white frost with a blue one

    • @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy
      @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy  Před rokem

      The cable take up minimal space. I’m not familiar with that speaker so I can’t promise it’ll all fit.

    • @SpaceWizardCosplay
      @SpaceWizardCosplay Před rokem

      For the speaker, you'll have to solder the + and - directly to the stock speaker contacts after you strip one end of the 3.5mm aux cable, then the other end of the cable will plug into the speaker's aux port. There's a few tutorials here on CZcams.

    Can you fit a 6000mha Tallentecll also? I think they are a bit larger I ordered one because I want to power an amp for the new speakers..., but now I wonder if I should get the 3000 instead, it seems to fit perfectly.

    Isn't the Tinted version of the Lens more accurate than the blue version for the Phoebe Pack?

    • @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy
      @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy  Před rokem

      Perhaps, but it’s so dirty it’s hard to tell. It’s definitely blue on Winston’s Afterlife pack, which leads me to believe the Spengler probably is too:
      www.theghostbustersreferencelibrary.com/ghostbusters-afterlife/afterlife-zeddemore-hero-pack?itemId=kyxmpdg8nx2msujymx789bftif3km1
      Either way, the blue is better than the stock Hasbro lens.

    • @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy

      You don’t need it. You could also cut a small window in the existing wall and have a similar result.

    do we have to worry about frying the electronics in our board by charging the talent cell while it's still connected to the board?

    • @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy
      @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy  Před rokem +2

      Good question, I’m not sure. Luckily you can just unplug the usb cable on the battery while you have the charger hooked up, if you want to be cautious.

    • @TheJustinc23

      Talentcell charging is weird. Look it up as it says to charge the battery while its in the on position.

      Like Matt said, be sure to unplug the USB cable that plugs into your pack before you charge the Talencell battery brick b/c it has to be charged while it it switched on. (the battery brick)

  • @Wiiggz
    @Wiiggz Před rokem

    How do you find the talentcell matt? Does it hold charge for a fair amount of time? Does it work ok with the wand connected too? I’ve done the window mod ready I’m just hesitant if it doesn’t supply enough power for both wand and pack.

    • @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy
      @TheProtonPackIsNotAToy  Před rokem

      I haven’t left it running for long periods of time, so I’m unsure about charge. For the multiple short periods I’ve run it I haven’t noticed any lag, and I haven’t recharged it since installing it. I left the battery compartment alone in case I need to switch back to D cells.
