I see many people criticizing Serj's vocals or saying that he was sick in this concert, but this was the perfomance that made me fall in love with this song, feels so heartfelt and so haunting in the beggining specially.
Serj seems to be always less implicated emotionally on stage than in a recording studio. SOAD performs at its best in a studio. You can t blame him, that s the way he was.
I mean who's to blame Serj if he was a little sick, you can literally see his breath. It was definitely cold so I'd understand if he was a little under the weather lmao. So they might be right. I think he sounds fine though!!
I saw some people in the comments saying that Serj's voice wasn't so good in this presentation, either I'm crazy or I don't know, to me he sounds perfect here, it passes all the emotional energy that this song has, hitting the high notes...
I love this band more than anything. So underrated. I love them. I am a Muslim lady and I never listen to rock much but will never stop being moved and chilled by their music.
I wrote an essay for a college course about the ways different regions and cultures respond to metal music. A lot of studies show a lot of Muslims are rather tolerant and respectful of heavy metal. One Muslim even compared moshing to a form of prayer. Such an interesting and beautiful culture and religion. Thank you for sharing.
Its ashame this show is so overlooked when people talk about the greatest live performances ever ... Just the shear emotional presence due to its context is overwhelmingly powerful
My favorite system songs- 1. Question 2. Soldier side 3. Holy mountains 4. Tentative 5. Their entire first album 6. Shimmy 7. Kill rock n roll 8. Toxicity 9. Mr. Jack 10. Everything else
I was going to write a political statement, then decided to write a musical opinion, but then I just went with a HOLY SHIT SERJ IS SO CUTE IN THAT SWEATER. It may not be the most intellectually profound statement, but it's the truest to my real feelings...
+Katie Frank I laughed so hard when I read your comment because I thought the same thing. Everyone always talks about the politics and stuff, and here I am thinking 'aww, Serj looks cute in that sweater'.
Was listening to this song on repeat ALL DAY! IDGAF what anyone says, this song is a masterpiece. One of my favorite off of Hypnotize. Ugh, I just love them. I get chills everytime I listen to this song.
they thought nobody saw what they did in the holy mountain, they thought no one heard what they have done at the holy mountain, and once again they thought no other one smells what they did on the holy mountain, but the stars above our head saw the tears of the victims and the trees surround them heard the scream and the shout of the innocents and also the wind blow smells the fear of the abandoned stick at the wooden cross with wound and pain until the fugitives taste their tears of blazing fire, scream and shout of angry souls and abandoned rotten flesh with curse and spells
Its the sound and mixing in this part show....and this show happened long before Serj's voice change. He could still hit high notes and scream then....he can't now.
Wow, every time I hear this it hits something inside me... Can’t resist to sing “Freedom” and really feel that interpretation. It’s just an amazing song with deep and creepy lyrics and cry out of resistance.
That's because drummers sweat a shit ton more. You have to think your body's going to be staying warmer with all that rapid movement that comes with beating the shit out of the drums.
Throughout this entire song, you can tell Johns drumming has improved a ton! From when he was screwin up in Reading, germany during psycho, to nailing everything in this song, i say Great job John!!! :D cant wait for the 2011 tour to starrt!
I loved Daron's Iceman Signatures, but I will admit the Gibson SG sounds cleaner live. Daron And Shavo both have signature models from Gibson now, and they both are able to reach heavy tones while maintain a clean sound.
I will be playing this on my way to the Rally for Justice today 04/24. I am one quarter Armenian and three quarters black and as such, I am the product of genocide, suffering, slavery, rape, and murder on both sides. Most Armenians do not recognize me as being "pure" enough to be one of their own, but regardless I will be there today shouting for my great-great grandparents and thanking them for their bravery and sacrifice.
The difference between you and them is that their suffering was a lot more recent. Serj remembers hearing bombs dropping in school before moving to the States to give you a point of reference.
Persephone Hades And I remember being disowned my most of my Armenian family because I am black, I remember being followed around stores because I am black. I have been told by a friend to not greet her in public because she wasn't supposed to have black friends. Don't assume. We still suffer here.
SleighJessi Yeah, but Armenians' suffering 50 years ago is like African Americans' suffering from 150 years ago, suffering being a noun and being very specific in what happened to them. It also didn't help they were lumped in with all of the Middle Easterns after 9/11, making them experience your kind of suffering now. Now, I must've skipped over the part in your comment where you said that you were part Armenian because I genuinely didn't know and just read that part, so I'm sorry for that.
Since the beginning of time, t'was written in the stones that one day a band would come. Well, that band has come, and now they are here to come again inside of our ear pussies. Thank you System of a Down.
Исполнение на высшем уровне! Каждый из участников выложился на полную. Ещё хотелось бы подчеркнуть что очень не хватает этой группы сейчас. Очень жаль что они распались, но треки их останутся и будут ещё долго звучать!
God damn how sad is it that i shed a tear when i read what mooseyfate wrote just because we haven't seen or heard anything from these guys in so long? Soad for life

You can t blame him, that s the way he was.
@@freedomisdead9638 to me in this particular performance he seems very "inside" of the music, emotionally
I mean it does sound like serj is having some trouble but it still sounds awesome
His voice was really warm in this concert...
I mean who's to blame Serj if he was a little sick, you can literally see his breath. It was definitely cold so I'd understand if he was a little under the weather lmao. So they might be right. I think he sounds fine though!!
John Dolmayan is one of the best drummers of all time. the fact that he is a lefty and plays right handed is just awesome
He's left-handed?
@@mylinglivetv yeah
Alot of drummers like that actually. Ringo, mick Fleetwood, Chris Adler pretty sure Stuart Copeland is a lefty too
John is one of the most underrated drummers of all time also he is one of the best drummers of the universe.❤
One of the most original and professional drummers and also a truly down to earth guy, I have a hell of respect for him.
Their Armenian background makes their fusion of sounds, styles, and grooves so unique!
`
I love John Dolmayan, he's my favorite drummer.
OMG the drummer guy can talk :O

Really? Drummer guy?? Is John!
4:07 Holy fuck John, Machine gun speed! :D
John nailed it on the head at the beginning. They are totally a socially conscious band. They write about almost everything.
BEST BAND EVER
Of course yes!
Agreed!
You’re right
I never found any band that had this massive impact in my mind and my personality, completely agree there's no other band like soad
te ha funcionado el gato sexo??
One of the hardest songs to sing of soad
I saw some people in the comments saying that Serj's voice wasn't so good in this presentation, either I'm crazy or I don't know, to me he sounds perfect here, it passes all the emotional energy that this song has, hitting the high notes...

@@alle6605 stay away from me, stalker lmao
@@viniciussouza9941 you're the one that introduced me to SOAD, now pay the price
@@alle6605 your father introduced, not me actually.
@@viniciussouza9941 I'm here because you reintroduced me, you're the culprit, guilty, case closed
This song, especially, the chorus brought me to tears... Shivers through my body ❤️🔥
0:40 omg he can speak?
+axl rose Yes and ?
Barhoumi Rayan and... he,he... has a voice!
LOLOLOLOL
People still can't believe it... but...I know, that it's true. JOHN CAN SPEAK

The keyboards sounds so epic.

Watch the preformance of 'Mind' at whisky a go go. He headbangs a lot
+bane Prison Song 2003

+axl rose He was high.
+axl rose I mean, look at his eyes in that concert!
This song and band still bring me so much joy
Such a beautiful song.. And the drummer badass awesome
I love the moment when the intro kicked in as the drummer said "drugs, sex, alcohol..."
Love it
I love this band more than anything. So underrated. I love them. I am a Muslim lady and I never listen to rock much but will never stop being moved and chilled by their music.
Mashallah 😌
I'm muslim too but I like the songs, I don't think too much about the lyrics and their meanings

2005 Serj Vocals had a unique flavor to them, the tone was kinda between old and new vocals that he displays now
ese piano... ese SAGRADO piano de serj hace estremecer la piel cuando lo escuchas con este tema de cultura....
Y si brooo ❤️🤟
Wow, I honestly would've thought that John had a deeper voice than that.
TheRubbaRazza
'Cause every drummer has a deep voice lol
Enrique Vazquez lol
Not Roger Taylor lol
Beast with a soft voice just like Mike Tyson
Wow. This has to be one of their best performances. Perfect and sounds awesome. Great song too. And john on the drums. OP

SOAD 4 EVER.Thank you guys for joining and bring us hapiness in our best and our bad moments.
One of my favorite SOAD songs, and I’m never surprised of their performance 🤟

Top 5
1. Deer Dance
2. Science
3. Psycho
4. Holy Mountains
5. Toxicity
No particular order of course, because every SoaD song rocks
I don't know why, but I like the live version of this song more than the studio one. This is a great performance.
Awesome Gameplays Serj knows how to sing his songs live as well as in the studio. And by the way, he was even a bit ill in this concert
He does sound outta tune though.

@@kodaklae9082 old serj couldnt hit high notes, now his scale js much bigger
