  • This video Shows how to hang Net Curtains in Bay Windows.
    This can be done with either net wire or a curtain track but in this video we are going to show how this can be done with net curtain wire.
    For this you will need some equipment.
    You will need an electric drill some 1.5mm drill bits. Some masking tape, a tape measure, some wire cutters and some No 6 (3/4) inch screws

    This was so helpful. Had no idea what drill bit I'd need. Great tips creating template with cardboard and getting the right tension on the wire.!

    I disagree with 90% who said they prefer one long curtain. I have a square bay and use a separate curtain for each window. There are no gaps and I can move each curtain aside if necessary. Much better, in my opinion.

      Hi Chris, Yes you are 100% correct for a square bay window, it is better to have three separate curtains. Left, centre, middle . As this makes it easier to hang. and you will not notice the joins because they are tight in the corners. When we looked at customer feedback, 90 percent had a Curved Bay Window and this looks much neater as one large curtain. Perhaps we can alter the video title to say "Curved Bay Window" and do a separate video for a "Square Bay Window" Thank you for your feedback

      @@Woodyattcurtains Thanks! Probably not necessary to have a separate video; just get the guy to say 'for a square bay' etc etc! I use extendable curtain rods for each section, as the big window is 5ft wide and curtain wire tends to droop in the middle. You can use extra fittings to hold it up but I find nets catch on them. Btw, I bought my nets from you 🙂

    Much prefer three separate curtains. Have just hung floor to ceiling, supplied by you, in my caravan bay window. Easier to open windows and also to look out.

      Hi Linda, Thank you for your feedback. Yes for larger curtains that are floor to ceiling, it would easier have three separate curtains. Like you say this would be easier to open windows etc. When they are full length net wire is not always suitable because it is not as strong as a telescopic rods or a track. The Bay window in the video was the most popular size (with a height of approx 120cm) and for this we found that 90% preferred to have one curtain. - I think we need to do another video going through the more unusual bay windows and the different solutions. Thank you for your feedback

      @@Woodyattcurtains thank you for reply. Caravan curtains are not too heavy even although they are full length. The existing wires were perfect and I am 100% delighted with my purchase, many thanks.

    What are the hooks in the middle? Same as the end?

    I didn’t understand the bit about using a screw.

    • @Woodyattcurtains
      @Woodyattcurtains  Před rokem +1

      Hi Hazel, the net wire hooks are only 1mm diameter and over several months they may wiggle and fall out. The screws are approx 3mm diameter so are much stronger than a hook and once screwed into position will not fall out. So if your hooks on the end of the wire are loose or wiggle around. We would recommend upgrading this to a No 6 (3/4 inch) screw as this is a much stronger solution.

      @@Woodyattcurtains oh I see, use the screw head instead of a hook to hook the wire over. Makes sense now. Thanks
