It was the first real "cold" front for Florida (we live in Ft. Lauderdale) but the sunny resort was warm and inviting. Isla Bella is stunning! Stayed there the first or second week after they opened. Had a great time. It’s nice to see that they have added some items. The beach was rough and did not have any seats when we went but overall the place was great.

That place is amazing! What I really like is all the available shade to get out of the hot Florida sun if needed. Most place don’t have nice shaded areas like this. 👍🏼💯👌🏼
We totally agree! Just a few years ago that whole peninsula was barren with no trees and had a camp ground on it. When they built the resort they brought in all of those palms. I'd love to know how many they brought in....that was a good move on their part, gives the place a whole different feel! Thanks for watching!

Humm! Very interesting. Google Earth satellite view does not show the development complete but what a Great location. Checked prices for a time period in March, 2021and the price was Outstanding for Florida Keys. Plus all the Free amenities that are included. Great tip and through COVID review. Also appreciate the contact info for Mark’s brokerage business. I drag my bassboat 1,300 miles to Florida each March to fish the Everglades, Miami Canals, Charlotte Harbor and, sometimes the Keys (Key Colony Beach). Wife flies down. Looks like I can dock my boat next door at the marina. Wish I could but it is difficult for me to “just chill” unless I am on my boat. That’s my Happy Place! Think I just came up with the name of my next boat to replace “Overdraft”! Be well.

You sure can and many many people do. The beaches are much smaller here than I think most people envision. Nothing like the gulf coast of FL., but....that being said, the water is typically beautiful (except for the unusually high amount of sargassum weed we are getting) Isla Bella has a small sandy area they call a beach, but that is a stretch....Somebrero Beach is close to there and it is one of the nicer beaches around....
For the first year in many, we did not go out on the boat to watch fireworks. We sat on the dock where it was quiet and watched and listened to the whole island ...it was truly amazing. We saw and heard so many fireworks and happy people! We really enjoyed it more than sitting in the boat right under the fireworks!
Glad you enjoyed the video. The prices there fluctuate with the season drastically so I felt it was best just to allow the viewer to call and check prices rather than say something I don't know.
3 questions 1. What was your camera set up here here? 2. Were you using some kind of stabilizer for the walk around? 3. How easy is it to get to and then from to do other things, such as go eat at that Wendy’s?
1. Camera set up...Sony FDR AX-53 with Rode Video Micro 2. No gimbal, the Sony has a floating lens built in and does an excellent job at stabilization. 3. Wendy's right down the street. Isla Bella is right on Hwy A1A so it's handy to everything in Marathon.
Make your reservation early! There are several places in town to rent boats. If you are an experienced boater/fisherman Bad Company Boat Rentals has one of the nicest fleets of boats in town. But they are all larger boats with twin engines so you need to have some experience running a 30 footer with twins.
I just happened on your video and have been searching for a vacation spot in FL to replace the one I had planned in April that Covid took over. This place is beautiful and on one of my many cruises, we docked in the Keys for a day and I loved it. My biggest thing is that I am a senior citizen and I am alone. How safe is this place or anywhere in the Keys for a woman who is alone? Or do you have suggestions of places in FL where I could go to the beach and feel safe? You seem to know a lot about the Keys so I need to watch more of your videos.

My nephew has a condo in Ft. Myers and it is right on the beach, but he did not offer it to me to use. Boo Hoo! I have been to Pensacola beach because I have a friend who lives in Milton and she can drive there in 45 min. I am finding there is little in that area that will allow me to walk to stores and restaurants. So have sort of been working the shorelines. Thanks for the info. So much to do, everything accessible by golf cart. Although it's not near the beach, there is so much to do in the Villages she never misses the beach! I live in a small one-bedroom apt. and am happy to be able to save enough to take one vacation each year. I do without many things to be able to take that once a year vacation. As I went through the site I noticed that the monthly costs for me there, without having a home, is more than I get to live on here. That was very sweet of you to suggest it and there are many times I wished I had moved down there when I retired, but by then I knew I could never afford it. My favorite place to go is Bermuda and have made so many friends there through the years and I love to be there but traveling alone at my age gets tougher each year when I have to fly somewhere alone and deal with all the nonsense. Sorry this is so long, but wanted you to know my situation and how lucky I feel to go one time a year to somewhere beautiful.

September, October and half of November are very slow here. It's still blazing hot, the fishing is decent and the boating is great. No waits in restaurants, and very quiet. IF you like things sort of slow, then that's your months. From December to April is busy with snowbirds, the fishing is good for the right species, but the wind blows most all winter and the boating can be tough. The cheapest months to come here BY FAR is Sept., Oct. and Nov. The most expensive time is the winter months, and any holidays throughout the year. Hope this helps!

It's really nice for sure! But it's not $2k a night...I think they run somewhere around $400/night on average but don't quote me on that, best to give them a call. Winter is always the highest rates, then they drop from there.

At $900+ per night I would expect a lot more. This place is a dump at that price. At this price you can get a 4 bedroom house with your own pool, bikes, Kayaks and more.
A lot of people do choose to rent a house for a week, just depends on what you want. It is a nice option though if you can only stay a few days. Thanks for watching!

Yes it is a very trying time. But I think most are making the best of it. I understand the locals trying to stay safe and I understand their view on things since healthcare facilities are so incredibly limited here. I also feel for all the folks trying to make a living here, everything is tourism driven...it's a double edged sword for sure. This too shall pass.
AYah bella or EES-Lah. WHy do you folks in the keys mispronounce names in Spanish or Italian as if they were AYS LAH? I even wrote a email to the mayor of Islamorada that insists on mispronouncing the name of the town. As a person that is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Dutch, I have a problem when the entire population mispronounces a name of a place. I can forgive a one-time tourist but not a resident for this mispronunciatio like this. Love your videos otherwise.

We have not had dinner at Isla Bella, but the food in the Keys as a whole is wonderful. Be sure to ask a local where the best places are!

What months of the year are the best for visiting the keys? What months are the prime (most expensive) and what months are the most economical?
September, October and half of November are very slow here. It's still blazing hot, the fishing is decent and the boating is great. No waits in restaurants, and very quiet. IF you like things sort of slow, then that's your months. From December to April is busy with snowbirds, the fishing is good for the right species, but the wind blows most all winter and the boating can be tough. The cheapest months to come here BY FAR is Sept., Oct. and Nov. The most expensive time is the winter months, and any holidays throughout the year. Hope this helps!

It's really nice for sure! But it's not $2k a night...I think they run somewhere around $400/night on average but don't quote me on that, best to give them a call. Winter is always the highest rates, then they drop from there.

I lived in Key Largo 13 and was a Chef at the Ocean Reef Club in upper Key Largo now I live in Central Florida and miss the Keys a lot I’m currently looking to sell my house in Central Florida and move back down to the keys. Have you ever looked at houses at the ocean reef club that would probably be a very good video please reply if you have the time.

At $900+ per night I would expect a lot more. This place is a dump at that price. At this price you can get a 4 bedroom house with your own pool, bikes, Kayaks and more.
A lot of people do choose to rent a house for a week, just depends on what you want. It is a nice option though if you can only stay a few days. Thanks for watching!

It is out on the ocean front, it is small though. The Keys don't have a lot of beaches since they are mostly coral. Thanks for watching!

Key West airport has rental cars, pretty quick and easy.
It's pronounced "Isla Bella" which in Spanish means beautiful island. Its NOT pronounced "Ila bella"

Yes it is a very trying time. But I think most are making the best of it. I understand the locals trying to stay safe and I understand their view on things since healthcare facilities are so incredibly limited here. I also feel for all the folks trying to make a living here, everything is tourism driven...it's a double edged sword for sure. This too shall pass.

AYah bella or EES-Lah. WHy do you folks in the keys mispronounce names in Spanish or Italian as if they were AYS LAH? I even wrote a email to the mayor of Islamorada that insists on mispronouncing the name of the town. As a person that is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Dutch, I have a problem when the entire population mispronounces a name of a place. I can forgive a one-time tourist but not a resident for this mispronunciatio like this. Love your videos otherwise.
