    How To Hit Forehands Like Rafael Nadal (Easy Tennis Tips)
    1. Turn the moment you see the ball come to your forehand
    2. Take racket back with both hands and keep racket up around head level
    3. Drop racket down below contact and close face
    4. Swing up and finish above your head with your follow through
    5. If you wear a birthday hat you’ll hit it off toward your dominant side

      Hey Mr Ryan, can you explain Jennifer Brady's Forehand? This forehand is also very effective

    Great tips! Another thing to notice is that Nadal hits off his back foot, not his forward foot, with a semi-open stance, when he hits his bullwhip forehand. It's the opposite, when he follows through, hitting off his forward foot.

    Great explanations Ryan and almost very well disected however I would like to hear your explanations on the way Rafa moves his right arm while the other one takes the raquet up to his head. It is different than what you have explained in other videos were you recommend to hold the racquet with the non hitting hand after the hit. Rafa does more like the reactive break tucking the arm against his chest. Your opinion is well appreciated, as always is, in this special case. Hope ro hear from you. Thanks a lot

    I don't think you mention it, but one thing amateurs like myself probably should NOT model off of Nadal's forehand is the use of the non-hitting hand. Rafa has a habit of bringing the non-hitting in to his chest. Now, he of course does NOT have the technique issue that makes reaching out and up with the non-hitting hand a helpful correction: he turns his hips and shoulders magnificently. Actually when I'm hitting, I think of Rafa's racket arm for the drop and whip through, but I think of Diego Schwartzman as my model for reaching out and up with the non-hitting arm, so that I don't block my hips to turn into the contact and hit out, up and away from my body.

    Rafa swing is not so much an upward motion, it's rather more a forward extension motion from low to high and then he finish above his head rather then the side

    nice video! why does nadal hit ball with straight arms? let me guess, you will explain medvedev forehand next :)

    • @2MinuteTennis
      @2MinuteTennis  Před 2 lety +2

      Haha maybe! Personal preference. Some players like their arm bent some like straight. No different than some players like one handers and some like two handers.

    The left hand is around cheek level for most of these pros .
    Rafa has a completely straight arm ay contact like Roger Federer and Alcaraz , and nobody else on the tour hits like that !

    Hey what do u think about the intuitive tennis guy , he doesn’t close racket head or point it down on forehand . it’s just open whole time

    • @2MinuteTennis
      @2MinuteTennis  Před 2 lety

      Nick’s a good guy. And he does close the face at the bottom of his forehand. 👍

    Dont you think that if you hit like Nadal you will destroy top part of topspin pro. His swing is more trought the ball then up to the ball. Sorry for my english I hop that you understand what Im talking about. Bye the way your tennis lesson are great way to learn english. Thanks for that

      You're absolutely right, I was going to comment that. The topspin pro is in the way of doing the true Nadal stroke that lengthens out. That's cool you can remove the top though.

    Ur missing the crucial lag or snap worth %30 power.

    • @2MinuteTennis
      @2MinuteTennis  Před 2 lety

      Hey john. I’ve taught that type of swing in other videos. Lag and snap is not necessary for hitting a great forehand. Thanks!!!
