    Can you do Rebuild videos

    Also can you Show

    and Sonnax improvement Parts?
    Since Sonnax makes Improved parts
    it would be Very helpful
    to See what those are,

    It would be Better for us

    I need to rebuild my 6t75. Slow engagement into first gear but instant in reverse. Found if I left it in drive as warms up it engaged and was perfect all day long even after shutting off and restarting after cooled. Every day it got longer and longer to engage from ten minutes then increased to 20 to 40 minutes, then finally I could not get to move forward even after doing this for an hour. I changed the valve body but I think I burned the low clutches out. What set of clutch pack should I see burned if I had reverse and no forward gear?

    GM and Ford really got carried away in the stupid department sealing off these transmissions!!! It seems the only way to keep that screen and magnet clean is to do a flush at every fluid change. Which would probably have to be done at much shorter intervals.

    I took mine apart (IN the car) to change the cracked wave springs.. And it shifts fine, but makes a whining power steering type of noise.. Im worried that I dropped a thrust washer or something as I was re-assembling it (I used assembly goo). Also at certian part load driving situations I get a shudder that almost feels like a miss. I have no fault codes

    I like your shop. It has that classic old window setup and everything is stained from years of hard work. Reminds me of my grandpas shop. I've always drained our 2010 Acadia transmission and refilled with about 5 quarts (always put in what came out and checked when hot. I know it's not a full drain but it's half anyway) each year. I'm at 133,000 miles and the trans seems fine. On this last change I put in a bottle of Lubegard in place of 10oz of Dexron VI. Hopefully it will keep going strong but I'm starting to worry about my 3-5-R waveplate. Do you think it will survive to 200K if it's made it this far with annual fluid replacement?

    Not too many people are as descriptive as you when posting a video. I have the same 6T70 tranny in my 2012 Buick LaCrosse 3.6L VVT , and when I am cruising/driving @1500rpms or 35-40mph, I feel a vibration in my gas pedal. When I go higher speeds on the highway, I don't feel it at all. When I do feel it, I depress the gas pedal so it stops & repress the gas pedal to go past the1500rpms, and am at wit's end trying to figure it out. All the local shops around here want to charge me $400.00 and up just to diagnose it. Any helpful direction from you would be greatly appreciated, mate.

    Is there anything in those that would clunk, for lack of a better word? So my best explanation is it's like a driveshaft with play in the u joint. So it clunks when ya let off the gas at say 30mph. It clunks again when ya pick up the gas. I mean if you're real light and smooth on the gas, but I'm usually not that smooth. I'm pretty sure it's in the transmission. I hear it when it shifts sometimes. I've tried to recreate it in my garage. I've powerbraked to see if the motor moved, like a motor mount. No real movement. I jacked up the passenger side and move the tire back and forth. I can hear a clunk and it sounds like it's coming from inside the trans or maybe the housing that comes over to the passenger side. Anyhow I'm not really sure. Any ideas? It's a 2013 Impala with 90k miles. No other trans issues. Doesn't slip or anything. Cv shafts don't seem to have play or be a problem either. Thank you in advance.

    • @GaryFerraro
      @GaryFerraro  Před 4 lety

      I would look closer at the axles, hold the inner joint and move the tire back and fourth to see if there is play at the inner joint

    Mr Ferraro fantastic video Sir. I have a 2010 fwd Cadillac SRX with 130k. with what I believe is a 6T70. we bought it used and I changed the old trans oil immediately with Valvoline MaxLife high mileage dex 6.The old oil that came out smelled fine and not burned and was still redish. It tends to shift hard from first to second a little hard under light throttle load but with more throttle it shifts fine. is this normal or do I need to look a the valve body? I don't see any codes when I use my obd2 scan tool. also is the oil I used good or is there a preferred brand and type you prefer. I believe in changing trans oil annually or biannually and we don't do alot of aggressive driving and are easy on or cars. besides the hard 1 to 2 shift the trans works great any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I do all my own work from restorations to engine rebuilds but I have next to no experience on automatic transmissions I have rebuilt plenty of t56 and other manual transmissions.
    Again thank you for the great detailed content and sharing your vast knowledge

    Hi Mr. Ferraro, I have a 2007 Saturn Aura 3.6 with a transmission issue. I replaced the transmission 3 times & all replacements had an issue. The first would not shift above 2nd gear, the second transmission does not have reverse and the 3rd transmission takes 1st gear only. I thought about purchasing a replacement transmission from eBay but I don’t want to end up with another busted transmission. What do you think would be the best possible route? Maybe a transmission overhaul kit? If so what parts should I replace, I would much rather to put the original transmission back in the vehicle.
