- Here is a video showing you how to program the Magnets setting into your XP Deus remote.
I spent many nights tweaking the settings to get the very most out of the Deus and to try and cut down on digging undesirable targets.
I am not saying this is the best settings out there however this is my now go to preset for ploughed or pastured land.
This setting will help you to learn 4 different tones and only 2 of those tones you will be digging. If you stick to digging just those signals I guarantee you will limit the amount of junk you come home with.
Thank you for watching, please comment, like and subscribe below if you found it useful. HH!
*forgot to mention in the video*
Ground balance is on manual and set at 90
The profile is on the curve because this program will clearly tell you the difference between ferrous and non ferrous targets without the need for any visual indication.
Have been using this program for a while now, best one by far and have had some good finds. Thanks!!
shooter Glad it’s helped you out. Thank you for you’re feed back. Much appreciated.
really good video,Thanks!!
Great video
great video
Would be nice to see you test your program on a quater stater and thin hammered
Walking The fields and a Roman, Croto bells an so on.
I like the sounds on this profile, but i want to find the lead 'rubbish' :) I have a few lead Roman finds on my field. How could i set it to let lead through ?
And can you show the screen so I can see how the curve works ?
What software version?
This is very nice video indeed. Maybe i guessed it right, but for sure what is the coil you use with this program ?
ari rautiainen Thanks Ari. The coil used in the video is the XPDeus 11inch standard coil :-)
As a newbie, would running the elliptical HF coil be the same settings especially frequency setting as this will be different than the 11" standard coil.
Michael Merry I have only tested this setting on 12k and 18K but feel free to see what results you get with the HF coil. Will be interested to know .
hi. great video, I've just got the Deus and im going to try this program for myself. how are you getting on with it now ? are you still happy with the settings or would you change anything now in 2019 please
HeadHunter-Gaming it is my go to program for every trip now. I sometimes adjust the frequency to 18khz and very rarely the sensitivity but other than that I find this setting the best! Hope that helps, HH :-)
@@OMA_MetalDetecting what about small hammered. like cut halfs or quarters. and what about small gold
HeadHunter-Gaming if it’s there you will find it :-)
Only Me Again thanks for your reply. I’m going out tomorrow to give it a try. 🤞thanks again
What about copper coins?
I would like to see someone do some 101 basics for the xp Deus. Maybe even more basic than the Skill School for complete newbies like me.
WP45 I would be willing to do a basics 101 on the Deus on my channel. Is there anything particular you are wanting to know?
@@OMA_MetalDetecting I'd have to leave it up to you but I am a complete newbie. And still confused on stuff like reactivity, ground balance etc...I am reading the forums and ordered the new Deus book by Andy Sabisch
Why have you got the `profile` on the mountain? I have tried that profile and it didn`t show anything .
ann turrell A good question! I have chosen this profile over the horseshoe because the horseshoe will behave very differently than normal in this preset. Also, if you can master the 2 high tones you will know straight away if it is ferrous or non ferrous.
Great, thanks for that. I have installed that program now, can`t wait to try it out. I will probably put the control box in my pocket and not rely on it, which I believe is what you are supposed to do with the Deus anyway. Thanks for sharing.
Did you mention the base program you modified?
Edward Donovan G Max Power 👍
Minelab don't pick up coke. you can avoid coke with the xy screen. I will have a try of your settings thanks
Minelab have a preset discrimination cut off where the Deus also has the cut off but but its set lower if you like! than Minelab

I use xy screen helps me out against coke and lead etc better than horseshoe
Are you set normalized or not?
Rich Mikesell No normalisation at all on this setting :-)
@@OMA_MetalDetecting No matter, just curious. My target numbers will differ from yours anyway. Very interesting concept, snow on the ground now but can't wait to try it.
Looking at your finds I don't see any hammered coin in your collection using this program
as mentioned by others hammered coins can and do come in at quite low numbers so ignoring
or not hearing them your bound to miss some hammered coins but if your detecting fields have
never produced hammered then your program would stop you digging so many bad targets .
Watch right till the end mate 👍
My error- but when you said that's about it then i stopped the video thinking it
was finished and made my comment but having watched it again I'm very
impressed indeed so will copy your setting into program two GM POWER
and give it a go , will post my results later .
@@jimburns6232 thanks Jim, hope it works for you mate 👍
I really do appreciate what your trying to do, but some of my best hammered coins have come in at the same tones/numbers as scrap lead and pewter buttons. A lot depends on the depth and orientation in the ground. I really dont think you can cancel these targets without missing good targets. I see what you are trying to do, but personally I think you will leave loads of good targets in the ground on this programme. The detectors, and the ability to see targets, is not as black and white when things are in the ground. You have a junk pouch for a reason and you need to put plenty in it to get all the good finds. There are too many variants in the field based on depth and shape in my opinion. ATB MMMD
Mud Max Metal Detecting This is the great thing about this preset. Those signals from deep or strangely oriented signals will still come through as a ‘diggable’ target. I have tested this in the ground with buried objects and it works a charm. Don’t forget if you want that extra confirmation than you have the number which will back up it’s a good signal etc etc. I understand it’s hard to trust the machine especially if it is discriminating such a wide range of targets but this program is about minimising how much crap you dig while picking out the sweet signals and it has certainly helped me do that and I have still come home with a bag of goodies, goodies I will be keeping :-) GL
Just remember if your using numbers for confirmation, even Gary from XP advises against that in UK hunting scenarios. They can't be trusted. ATB MMMD
Yes Maxy,,,I couldnt help think that too...small hammereds sitting in the low sixties UNDERGROUND (not waved at the coil) would be missed. love the coke aspect though .
I totally agree with you there Mud Max, i've had cut quarters and halfs coming in at the same number as lead etc. I'm afraid digging rubbish is all apart of the hobby, it can't be avoided unless you want to risk missing good targets.
Think i'll stick to the sonar program
a trick: watch series on flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies recently.
No mate don't work
