The year is 1998. I wake up, it's 6am. It's still dark outside. There is a light shining down the hallway from the bathroom. It's my mom taking a bath. I can hear the sound of the bath echoing down the hallway. I don't have to be up and ready for school for another two hours. I roll back over, listening to the bath tub filling up with water. I'm cozy and snuggled in my warm bed. Comforted by the sounds of the bath filling. Thank you for this video.

I have the most wonderful memories of a childhood finding a safe place and bliss laying next to the bathtub. In the evening I would eagerly make my way to the bathroom, close and lock the door. Just imagining what I was about to do in and of itself gave me such joy. I would turn the water on to set the mood and then get my bath towels out and start preparing my nest. It was a ritual for me. I didn’t imagine anything other than creating a soft place to land. Once I had everything ready, I turned the water down low so I could savor the sound as long as possible. As the trickling, splashing sounds began, I crawled on to my safe place and covered myself as my head fell on the towel pillow. I was as close to the tub as I could get. Immediately I felt the tingles as I focused in on the sound of the water. I had the biggest smile on my face. My place. All mine. Safe. No worries or cares. Then, after a while as the water rose, I’d start feeling the occasional little splashes or drops come over the tub and hit my face. More tingles. I’d think how lucky am I that I get to experience this. No one can take this from me. Sometimes I would drift off for a bit. If not, I was at least in a good meditative state. After the tub was getting full, sometimes I would then slowly slide into the water feeling the luxurious warmth surround my body. Tingles. I would then scoot up close to the faucet and put my hands under the running water. Watch and feel it run over my hands thinking there is no better feeling in the world. More tingles. I never wanted to leave. I didn’t want to give up this sacred space. But, I always knew it would be waiting for me when I needed it and that gave me great satisfaction. I would eventually climb out, dry myself off with the soft towels and go climb into bed immediately luxuriating in the warmth and softness of the sheets and blanket. My fears and worries were set aside for a little while so I could sleep. Closing my eyes, I had wonderful thoughts of my next visit to the bathtub.

This is amazing, I'm speechless....I can't remember when it started but when i was a lil kid, I remember i LOVED shower time when my mom used to put me in the bathtub and fill it up...It started from there, earliest memory i have. Always felt like the filling bathtub noise is just something majestic and magical, it always made me relax no matter the situation, no matter what's going on with my day the second i go to the bathroom and fill it up just sitting there next to it cozy and wrapped in a towel would take me to a different world LMAO it gives me goosebumps just to hear it and brings back a lot of memories and i love the fact that i never spoke of it to anyone at all, actually i used to think "Oh wait maybe I'm weird, who tf likes these" but I'm so glad after reading most of the comments and saw that I'M NOT ALONE!! Seems thousands share the same feeling maybe even more! THIS IS GREAT!!

I've always been greatly affected by running water, running baths in particular. I remember when I was really little, anytime somebody would run a bath I would lay down where ever I was and take on an almost trance like state. One evening at the dinner table I ended up laying across the chairs under the table while my Mom ran her bath upstairs.
In grade 1 we were asked to draw our favorite sound. I drew a running bath. My teacher was quite confused.
I pretty much always get very tingly when I hear a bath running, even to this day, especially if any of the skin on my torso or arms is exposed. It's almost as if a part of my brain just goes... quiet.
A few years back when I would play Skyrim, I would have to be careful not to go near the waterfall in the main town or I would risk falling asleep.
This video is the ultimate score for me. I had no idea other people loved this sound as much as I do. Most people I know just think I'm nutty when I tell them.
    Thanks soooo much!!!!

I’ve listened to this playlist every single night for over a year now & I can’t thank you enough the amount of nightmares & time wasted you’ve saved me with this. I’ve never left a CZcams comment before in my life & I’m not even using my account now to do so. Ever since I was a young lad I’m talking 9 years old I was obsessed with the sound of running water, I lived in Scarborough we were very poor at the time couldn’t even afford carpet for the stairs. But I used to find my escape in when my Mum or Dad would run their bath, I used to snuggle up under the sink arms crossed on knees with forehead on forearm until it finally finished running & I’d get kicked out! But it’s the earliest thing I remember being obsessed by & my parents would then use it against me if I’d misbehaved so I’d sneak on the landing outside the door & listen & the spine tingling feeling it used to give me was second to none! Then fast forward about 7 or 8 years & we’d moved away to a different country with a different language so as a 16 year old boy having to deal with that I found my only escape was to wait until my family had left the house & to take the duvet from my bed & lay it next to the bath tub half on the ground & use the other half to wrap myself up & I’d run the shower with the plug in so it would take an hour to fill the tub & I’d play Black Sabbath Planet Caravan on repeat for the entire hour & I’d set an alarm & I used to be so upset when it went off because I knew that was my meditation session over & it was back to reality! I’m now 30 & I thought I was weird or had something wrong with me but it turns out this is a escape from reality for a lot of people so from me & everyone else here thank you so much for this, I owe you over 365 nights sleep. Anyone who read this & can relate I respect you.

I'm glad my videos have helped you to relax and sleep without nightmares. I had no idea there were so many people out there that would enjoy this sound when I first uploaded the video, but now it has over half a million views I guess there must be thousands of people who enjoy it. I also used to stand in the hall outside the bathroom door when my mum would run her bath. It was usually in the evening and if the hall light was on, I would put it off, as it had to be dark for me to really get into my comfort zone, lol! My bedroom was right next to the bathroom, so even if I was already in bed, I could snuggle up under the covers and enjoy the sounds and vibrations coming through the wall. Don't worry about there being anything wrong with you, just reading the comments section reveals that lots of people enjoyed these similar experiences during childhood and most still enjoy it years later, but even if you were the only one, that wouldn't mean you were weird at all, as it's OK to be different! PS, I'm also into classic rock bands, so we have even more in common! Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath are my top three favourite bands. I actually play drums in a Led Zep tribute band called Led Astray. Paranoid is my favourite Black Sabbath album!

I wanted to give my scenario for why I love this sound because I saw others doing it as well:
All throughout upper elementary and middle school, I always showered in the mornings to not get horrible bed head. I’d always get up a little early so I could listen to the sounds of my mom getting ready for work. I’d curl up on the stairs below the bathroom door and listen to the water, then the hair dryer. I eventually would just start turning on the shower and curling up for about 5 mins before entering so I could have a small cozy moment before fully getting ready for the day.

I loved listening to the sound of the bathtub filling up with water as a kid. I brought with me a duvet (I think it's called) and donald duck magazines and my cat :) Then I created this cozy environment for myself. The sound of the tub would block other sounds from the other people in the house and I felt so hidden away. I loved the more lower frequencies if I opened up the water,,handle(?) on max. But the problem is that the tub would fill up faster. So I had to adjust and compromise. I would also put my ear on the tub itself like I have read other also have done :) I would not read donald duck as much, just a little bit. I just loved listening to the sound. And I always tried to go to sleep but I never could. I got to the point where the sound would disappear and come back. It was so relaxing. I also like it when I went into the tub, and the differences in temperature gave me goosebumps as if I was cold,,but I wasn't cold. And I would focus my attention on that sensation. I also loved just standing in the tub, looking at the wooden wall and the texture. And a painting my mum had made. It was a painting of a foggy field and some trees, so I could not see everything clearly, but I could look in that painting and have a focused attention. Perhaps it was a form of meditating. All of this would end in an unpleasant way with loud knocking sounds when my parents in the 1. floor hit the ceiling with a cleaning rod telling me to stop wasting water.

I love reading all the details from others bathtub journeys. It’s particularly interesting that so many of us liked being wrapped in a towel. It’s almost like being swaddled as a baby. Or sometimes you put a robe over your body. I usually curled up in a fetal position. Did you? Many times I sleep this way as well. Feels so safe and warm. I felt so good snuggled up next to the tub listening only to the sound of water coming out and hitting the tub. There was a special echoing sound this way. It may even be similar sound to those who listened on the other side of a wall when a family member took a bath. Anyway, It was as if I was in my own world feeling safe and at peace with everything. Every so often, water drops would hit my skin and give me goosebumps and tingles. I was never so happy. And, wondering if anyone ever reached out their hand to touch the cool tile floor to experience that sensation. Not sure why I did that unless it was just to add another layer of feeling something to the experience. Would be curious to know what you think. Also, I liked to reach in the tub sometimes and feel the warm water against my skin. I did that because I love the feel of water almost as much as the sound.
Then sometimes I would get in the tub at the end and feel the warm water envelop my body, giving me more goosebumps. Most of all I didn’t want the sound to end. I’m so grateful we gave ASMR video recordings now so we can go to sleep experiencing the watery wonders of our childhood.
All of your stories bring me much happiness and tingles. Thank you for sharing and for being one of the water babies in this great community. Would you consider sharing one of your bath stories? Even if it’s very similar it would be nice to hear your version. Be well. 😊

Here's some visualization to the sounds you're hearing. Enjoy 💙
One of my favourite pasttimes was when i was 7 years old and fresh out of the bath, curled up into as many blankets as I could find. I would lazily lie down in my papasan chair, so i was completely surrounded by warmth and comfort. The smell of body wash and sweet shampoo surrounded me and i would hear the sound of the bath refilling for my younger sibling. After the running water dripped to a stop, i would hear the relaxing sounds of my sibling swishing the water around and playing tiredly as it was close to nighttime snack and movie time. I remember my eyelids becoming heavy as the sound of the water trickled around my ears. Eventually, as with every other time, I would always drift off to sleep before the bath ended. And it always ended with me sleeping in my warm bundle of soft blankets in my little chair bowl 💙

Takes me back to being a little kid laying in bed listening to my mum running a bath with only the bathroom light shining in the dark. I would run out and lay against the radiator and just listen. Pure bliss.

When I was suffering from an abscessed tooth I would turn off all the lights in my bathroom, stuff clothing under the door seam to block the sunlight, get in the tub and put a towel over my face, whilst listening to the water run. It was a waste of water, but it was either that or end it all. 😅😅😭😭😭 Thank Heaven for Dentists!

When I was a kid and had to take a bath, I would lay next to the tub while it was filling. I'd lay on a towel to get comfortable and close my eyes. I pretended that I was the water. It was and still is my moment of peace everyday.

My bedroom as a kid was opposite the bathroom door on the landing. Whenever someone took a bath I would go and lay down on the landing carpet outside the door and feel the warmth of the pipes through the floor as I lay there. Listening to the sound of the bath filling and wishing the sound to never end. Chills on my body but the warmth from the carpet heated by the water pipes. I never forget those times and it still stay with me today.

I know it’s been 8 years since you posted this video and that you have uploaded other bathtub fillings since then, but this one is my favorite. I’ve come back to it over an over again. I have ADHD and insomnia (the type where it’s hard to stay asleep) so I get 2-6hrs anytime I sleep. I end up feeling really tired after 4-10 days of my poor sleep. This video has helped me stay asleep multiple nights and I’m so thankful for that.

Since I was a young boy in the mid 80's I have always enjoyed laying outside of my bathtub and putting my head on the ledge and listening to the falling water as well watching it. Perhaps it may indeed have a lot to do with Astrology as I understand my association with Water is definitive of my sign Scorpio as I am born on November 10th 1978. I can say that I still do this today as a grown man. I wish I could find a woman to share my life with as timeless and peacefully honest as the water falls as hopefully could be our harmonious bond for life. Not until today did I ever think to look online and explore this lifelong facet of mine and what do you know - I am not an odd ball out as I see a multitude of others men and women a like in the same as I!!!

@SoundsToBlowYourMind : My 2 cents worth - I've been mesmerized by one particular sound for almost 47 years. The sound of a running bath is that sound. Nothing else matches it, although heavy rain on a tarp is a close second. I used to use a small cassette recorder with C-90 tapes to record a running bath as a young teen around 1970, and jam the speaker against my ear when I went to bed. I don't remember ever being awake when that tape ended an hour and a half later. Trance, private enclosure behind the wall of sound , relaxation and yes - ASMR as well. ( I'm ASMR active, but this is the only trigger ). I call the whole experience "drifting. " This 2-hour upload I find to be the best sounding of your 4 different length versions of the same video ( very smoothly blended at the looping points in this one ) , and I also consider this the best running bath water video on CZcams. Others are very good as well but this one takes the prize. I'll echo what some of the others have said : " I thought I was the only one who loved this sound ". Nope...there are thousands of us. Maybe even millions. Thanks for posting, I can't get enough of it. Cheers.

@ SoundsToBlowYourMind : You're quite welcome my friend, and thank you as well once again. ( The deeper the tub water gets, the better the sound - that's when the treble, mid-level, and bass sounds compliment each other best ). A simple sound to create, but an amazing sound to experience when it's recorded right. You've done that. All the best to you.: )

Dont know if anyone can relate to this and thought i would share in any case. I went to a family Counselor for years. We talked abour dreams and he was quit good at defining them. I dream alot about water. Love to listen.to these vids. Well he said its not about what you dream as much as what it represents. He told me that in dreams water represents the amniotic (sp) fluid. He told me that is the one place that i really felt safe. I have to say...it makes sense to me. Being bbn in the womb is a very safe place to be. When we hear these water vids i believe we love them as we do cuz it takes us to a place where we felt so safe. Make sense? It does to me. Just saying.

    • @SoundsToBlowYourMind
      @SoundsToBlowYourMind  Před 5 lety +2

Yes, that's makes sense to me, I have often wondered that maybe this sound reminds us (subconsciously) of being in the womb! The fact that many people also wrap themselves up in a blanket or towel, or snuggle up in bed while they listen to the sound would also suggest they could be trying to recreate a womb like situation. The sound also helps to calm babies and young children, so again that would make sense if it somehow reminds them of being in their mother's womb, where they were safe, warm and cosy!

My four week old loves these. Puts her right to sleep when I lay down to nurse her at night. Helps me too

This is actually something I've discovered recently with my niece. Running tap and electric kettle boiling works to soothe her every time. I think it's cause they are sounds similar to when they were inutero. I hear vacuum as well.

A few people have told me they put my bath filling videos on to help get their babies to stop crying, or to help them fall asleep etc! I also wondered if this sound somehow reminds us of being in the womb or something and maybe that's why it makes so many people feel cosy and calm / relaxed!
