    Suits delves into the fast-paced, high-stakes world of a top Manhattan corporate law firm where hotshot associate Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht, “Love & Other Drugs”) makes a risky move by hiring Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams, “Old School”) a brilliant but unmotivated college dropout, as his associate. As he becomes enmeshed in this unfamiliar world, Mike relies heavily on the firm’s best paralegal Rachel (Meghan Markle, “Horrible Bosses”) and Harvey's no-nonsense assistant Donna (Sarah Rafferty, “Brothers & Sisters”) to help him serve justice. With a photographic memory and the street smarts of a hustler, Mike proves to be a legal prodigy despite the absence of bonafide legal credentials.

      @@bustanutt3848 that's one thing, but just because you know everything doesn't mean you are vulnerable to emotional attack. There's a lot of people in this show that are equally knowledgeable as Donna but also invincible to a little shakedown.

    Lots of great performances by all. That said, Rick Hoffman did such an exceptional job of portraying Louis Litt that the character deeply aggravated me.

    It made zero sense to promote Donna. She was a great secretary but COO? Really? It was lazy writing to promote her that high just to give the character something to do.
    And it ultimately didn’t matter as nothing really changed other than she didn’t answer the phone for Harvey anymore.

    • @jessedellross3245
      @jessedellross3245 Před 7 měsíci +9

      @rami5075 she really didn’t. If she had been promoted to a middle position (like junior partner or something) and work her way up from there I could buy it.
      But getting promoted that high reeks of exactly what that lawyer was implying.

    • @AlezanDeer
      @AlezanDeer Před 7 měsíci +7

      How would they make decisions if Harvey and Louis had different opinions? The number of votes must be odd.
      Besides the fact that she would mediate their disputes, Harvey trusts her judgment, she will always be on the right side.
      Besides, the only one in the company who could deal with Louis was Donna, but she needed authority to do so.
      Then there is the fact that Harvey was never interested in meeting or managing people, nor in dealing with bureaucratic or administrative operations that he found boring.

    • @jessedellross3245
      @jessedellross3245 Před 7 měsíci +4

      @@AlezanDeer exactly. Harvey was terrible managing partner. He just acted the way he always did, the lawyer and not a leader. When Jessica was on the show she commanded authority. The moment she walked into a room she owned it. But after she left the firm, and by extension the show, lost that element and it made things very unrealistic.
      Louis was right when he said Donna wouldn’t have been promoted by Jessica. Donna was just a secretary. I agree they needed an odd number of people but why Donna? Promote Rachel or someone else.
      Not the literal secretary. Again it reeked of favoritism and exactly what they lawyer was implying. I wouldn’t trust a firm that did that. I wouldn’t want to be their client

    • @AlezanDeer
      @AlezanDeer Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@jessedellross3245But would you have trusted a firm that hired as a lawyer a trafficker, a fraud?
      If hiring Mike was a fraud, no law was broken by promoting Donna.
      Her position was unrelated to the law. She was responsible for administration, HR and day-to-day operations to ensure the best working conditions for lawyers.

    • @jessedellross3245
      @jessedellross3245 Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@AlezanDeer and she was completely unqualified for it. She even admitted it herself at one point. So why did she get that promotion?
      Cause of her friendship with Harvey. That’s it
      Again, right after Mike is outed as a fraud the last thing the firm needed was to have another unqualified member be at the top. And Harvey, for no logical reason, did exactly that. If you’re going to promote within the firm, do it with someone qualified. She literally just went up to Harvey and said “I am a senior partner.” And harvey goes “ok”
      WHAT?!?!?!?!

    Season 7 was what messed up Suits. Don't get me wrong. I love the series but this season showed inconsistencies in the main characters. Mike being so smart planning out strategies to win cases yet took the prison case agreeing on paper not to drop it (and even confronting Alex Williams toresolve any future conflict issue)? For someone so smart, he was absolutely dumb there. Or the acting and script were not moving enough to build in Mike the obsession to go against his principles and cloud his judgment. Donna on the other hand, suddenly lost all her foresight, empathy, and compassion when she got promoted, skills that are applicable across all levels and positions.
