- Season 1 - Episode 1: "Days Gone Bye"
Scene: Morgan prepares to shoot his wife, but can't bring himself to do it; Rick shoots the bicycle walker.
This is an unofficial soundtrack. All music composed by Bear McCreary. Credit to jerms819. Sorry for any unwanted noises (walkers, gunshots, etc.) as they cannot be removed. - Hudba
I'm sorry this happened to you....
Jigsawtrapper412 for some reason that part always brings a tear to my eye...to treat a total stranger like that who's long gone...shows much of ricks humanity in this timeframe of TWD..before more heartbreaking moments happened.
Hannah aka Bicycle Girl
@@diegocash262 it's the same thing for me
Yeah I felt the same. Ricks humanity shone through. The music reminds me of how lost the human race has become and how time is fleeting. It invokes nostalgia and other feelings of things you loose along the way in life, friends, relationships and yourself I guess. But enough about the negative. Beautiful score non the less.
“I’m sorry this happened to you” is still one of the most powerful lines...you can see how despite him wanting to not believe what was happening reality was setting in, back when you could believe everyone could work together, but then a betrayal by a best friend, a governor, a cannibal, a warlord with a vampire bat, and now a whisperer permanently shattered those illusions
I forgot how beautiful this theme was.
+bmtprime and this episode. Even people who don't like zombie couldn't find nothing to complain.
I didn't. play it all the time...and remember how good and potential great, the show was.
I forgot how beautiful, enjoyable and deep a zombie show use to be.
"-Read your comic books a while, dad will be upstairs.

-Daddy?.
-It's alright Dwayne, you stay there son, don't you come up here."
😥srry i responded 4 yrs later 😅
This is still the best piece of music in the entire show IMO
Coda is amazing as well
By far
it is.
Were the ones who live
Very very good indeed! It’s sad seeing a series like this come to an end but i guess it is inevitable. I keep coming back to this song pretty consistently for the last number of years now. Full version of this song is incredible!
I still love The Walking Dead, but its not the same as it once was. Something about the first couple of seasons, and this episode especially, were so beautifully done that I don't think we could ever get back to that place on the show, even if they tried. This song is a masterpiece, and is definitely befitting of the episode.
They srsly need to use this theme more often
Totally agree.Season 1-5 are my favorite. The show has a different vibe after that.I guess it supposed to since they moved out of Atlanta in the show.I love all the episodes but i find myself watching 1-3 the most.Love this theme!!
The very first season was and still is the best.
The incredible Bear McCreary. Loved his work since Battlestar Galactica. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a free concert in 09'.
So tru. You couldn't be more right. I 100% agree
It's sad that they don't use this anymore..
just in season 1 and 3 :'(
and you were wrong
why?
Lucco they played it in season 6 when we got the Morgan episode
just your friend what episode
I can even describe how many memories this song brings me back.....
I swear
Yet another example of Bear McCreary at his finest.
BSG anyone
This played on the very first episode. Imagine them playing this on the very last episode.
It didn't sadly
Yeah it did actually in Rosita Espinosa's death scene where Eugene Porter was at her bedside comforting her.
@@gamertransitandtrains.7317 is the show over?
@@BastivanDero Sadly 😔, yes it is over my friend.
Mad cheers to Melissa Cowan (aka the bicycle walker), who is still doing zombie-related roles and signings at conventions in support for her one-episode role on The Walking Dead.
I’m glad this song made a reappearance in the finale of this masterpiece
Which episode? I didn't notice it
@@matheusmatheussuehtam legit said finale
So much love for this OST. I cry every time I hear this song in The Walking Dead. Such a beautiful melody
3:30 I completely forgot how beautiful this part of the song was until I rewatched the first episode just recently
I'm sorry this happened to you.
imo that’s the best part of the song
"I was supposed to kill her, my Jenny. But I let it go, let it go like there wasn't gonna be a reckoning"
I see red!

i hope they they use this score again in a later season or episode. it's so heartbreaking to listen to
They have to use it in the last episode.. The just have to.. No matter what happens
They used it. On 8x16 during the finale when Rick gave his last speech.
Lucas Alegre no they didn't
yup hope they play this when Rick dies
@@TheMarstonSHM True but just a tiny bit.
When the Walking Dead used to be top-notch television.
This song needs to play in the very last moment of the very final episode of the very last season ever. Don't you all agree?
I completely agree with you
Let’s hope
If the creators have even the slightest bit of intelligence, then they will play this at the very end of the last episode.
@@adampasternack1481 stupid ass creators
there is a beautiful piano in the final episode song with magee and negan
This is when the walking dead was actually amazing, when the walkers where the threat it brought more tension than the saviors did.
And now Morgan finally put his son down.
This is absolutely one of the most beautiful sound pieces I’ve ever listen to. Could listen to it 100 times and never get sick of it.
"I'm sorry this happened to you."
This theme is beautiful. Best theme in TWD. Hopefully they bring it back when Rick returns or in the last episode.
Lets hope so
Mmm
Well they didn’t bring it back but Rick was there at least
This comment aged well!
@@afitcouchpotato4014 (:
Still the best "Theme"!
This theme is beautiful, it captures the overall feel of the earlier days of TWD, a broken but hopeful group of people trying to survive in a world that doesn’t want them, in a world that is out to kill them. Mercy of the living shows hope in a damaged but still beautiful that pushes the survivors forward, the feel of the older TWD seasons will forever be just that, now it’s rebuilding in a world that is healing slowly but surely.... Mercy of the Living is the them for seasons 1-8, A New Beginning is the theme for 9-present, now the hope that was once lost returned and now the rebuilding of civilization begins....
When Rick Grimes dies, they MUST use this theme
Mercy of the Living is the best of the best tracks in this show
This music makes you feel something...i'm not sure what it is for you...but the music makes you feel as saying goodbye to a longtime friend, watching them leave and realizing that this isn't the end. You will grow, you will better yourself. You may shed tears along the way, and that's okay. But the most important part is to remember that it happened and embrace it. Whether you lose a loved one, are struggling in life...their is always that one droplet of hope. That can sprout.....and grow into something beautiful.....
you know what made Season 1 differ a lot from the other seasons.. it was the fact that everyone seemed more human back then... not being the trained killers and survivalist they are now but more like still scared, paid respects to some of the dead they killed and how everyone seemed... I don't know they seemed more like the common people we meet today in society and not like in the present Walking Dead time..
Frank darabont also was show runner, and was forced out after season 1.
It's because after enough time In this world it will eventually change you
This song is beyond beautiful, it touches a part of my heart and soul that no other song has, in my entire life.
By far... the most beautiful music I’ve ever heard, I hope when my day comes, this is what I hear.
That bit where his wife walked into view of the rifle and he just couldn’t bring himself to finish the job… so much emotion for the very first episode of the series.
Absolute perfect Pilot.
It was this episode that got me hooked on this show. Never would I thought I would like a show like this but my son said it was great and I should watch it and I did. What was different is, it's a fight for survival and people who care for each other against such horrible odds. Morgan trying to put his wife down was heart wrenching, couldn't help but cry. You know it's a good show when it touches you like that. Well done.
This scene still makes me tear up like a child
This theme, it’s so.... Mythical, this will always stay part of TWD. Whatever happens.
Its so natural. For me it symbolises the peace and balance being restored to nature. I hope they use this when rick reunites with judith and michonne
it sounds like wandering flame from final fantasy 10
Episode 1 is still the best episode in my opinion and this scene was the very best. As much as well all loved Negan as a character, Season 1 episode one was almost a masterpiece in a similar way to the movie 28 Days Later. Morgans scene here truly captured human emotion in a way you don't really see throughout the rest of the series. This show went from a potential masterpiece to a churned out, repetitive action soap/drama featuring zombies as a back drop.
Thats what it always was about, just like the world in dragonball will always be around getting stronger and fighting, the walking dead will always be about the struggling for survival and human interaction. To think it should have been something different is just wrong, it is exactly the foundation robert kirkman chooose.
The Walking Dead is my Favorite show
I really wish i could go back to being that 8 year old boy in 2010 the peace the happiness every sunday with my family the feeling this show brought me ill never forget it was the one time in my family there was no fighting no yelling just sitting and watching together im 21 now and the walking dead will forever be apart of my heart ive recently went back and watched through the seasons again and its still so beautiful even as an adult now i see and can feel and understand the show and characters even more
You're on a roll this weekend!
Anyway love love love this one, favourite 'theme' of the entire show
Amazing to play this in the background while riding the bike in Days Gone.
never gets old even after ten years.they should use this in the final episode of the walking dead.
Still one of my favorite scenes, the music is so perfect!!
Stay' there" son" don't u come" up" here' - Morgan Jones 😔👩🏽🦱🥀🪦♀️⭕
Its like the unofficial theme tune to heaven.....
Underrated
Fun fact: They used this again in Rosita Espinosa's death scene where Eugene Porter was at her bedside comforting her and in Rick Grimes and Michonne Hawthorne Grimes return but in remastered versions.
The first time watching this, I was crying seeing how Morgan didn't shoot his wife
This storytelling was the best out of the whole series. They took their time to get in depth with these characters, but now they just rush them to have no character.
Why didn’t they use this piece of music more, it was amazing nothing comes close.
After a years, im listening again. İ forgot how beautiful this music. Amazing. TWD was best
This was the most profound scene of the series
No doubt about it, sometimes I imagine how the show would be with Darabont.
@@GranSinderesis Over a long time ago. AMC milked that cow to death.
They should bring this theme back.
But I love the noises, that's why I came every time too you it's only on your Video just here with the background atmosphere ❤
because of the description...
Unforgettable
Oh this is beautiful I feel like crying
“The world is a lot more quieter now, you just have to listen.”
This Melody was also played in the episode of The Walking Dead in the prison, after Lori had died and Rick was hallucinating and saw her in the prison yard wearing the white gown and he saw her again inside the prison. It was such a surreal moment for Rick. Incidentally.. they should have played this melody when Rosita was dying and finally succumbed to her wounds while holding her son for the last time.
Thank you, thank you so Beauty OST
😭😭😭😭😭
great song thank you
The saddest part is this song played before the horse was introduced and not long after devoured by walkers.
Sometimes I watch this entire episode again, and I think this WD was awesome, I watched until the end of the third season, after that I grew up tired.
Oh this is the song!! The song on Narcos "No amnesty" was reminding me of this.
This sounds like something out of "Halo: Combat Evolved".
Joe Woodyard DUDE it does huh 😭🙌🏼 I was thinking the same thing when I first heard this like something you'd hear in Assault on the Control Room in the snow it's so beautiful in the Halo-esquel style 🙏🏼
Joe Woodyard I was thinking halo 4 but still halo
They kind of used it for the last episode of Season 8. When Rick was giving his speech, you can pick it up some part of it.
It really shows the atmosphere of the early days of the apocalypse and how scary or sad the reality for the characters was
I think we will hear it next season for Rick's last episode
well we didn't lol. we did hear it for Carl's though
Omg I got chills
This is the best theme in the entire show
Been a year since TWD came to a close. 😢😭
This muisc is beautiful
Someone else uploaded this years ago (it was taken down) and it sounded like this pretty much, except the gunshots were muffled so they didn't, you know, make me think someone was trying to murder me while I was listening to the music XD
não é atoa que faz muitos derramarem lagrimas lembranças boas e lembranças ruins .. é tão grande minha dor que vou ser assim.
Best OST of this show without doubt .
I hope they use this for ricks death scene
Same
they didn't.... goddamn it
He didn’t die though, he was saved by a helicopter crew. There’s going to be 3 films about him in theaters showing what he was up to during the time skip. I’m sure he will eventually reunite with his original group.
4:16 Gunshot 🔫💥
Classic nostálgic, memories 😔
IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS VERSION FOREVER WITH THE SECOND HALF WHEN RICK SAYS "IM SORRY THIS HAPPENED TO YOU"
i remember hearing this song and immediately getting reminded of wandering flame from final fantasy 10
You are a legend ❤
@@tobikammann4055 I am the taste god❤
The moment the bullet was fired, I felt it through my chest. It shocked me as if I was the one who got shot.
For some reason, this soundtrack reminds me Silent Hill.
By the way, I can't help but cry in that Morgan's wife scene, Resident Evil and other zombies games/movies could make most of us think that killing a undead is easy, but not when this undead can be your parent/best friend or when you think that this undead was a good person when it was alive...
It's weird. I think this is the music playing when you enter the Gates of Heaven. Has a message of awe in it.
came back to listen again and there's one dislike, come on seriously?
The bicycle girl hit the dislike button
It's 10 now
@@hoshimaruhajime7933 They are the living who have no mercy.

Other than that?! Fantastic theme!!!
Its the song fir dépression but is also very good song
This played in season 11 episode 16 when Maggie and Hershel talk.
Damn, first season of TWD, give me So much nostalgie

It'd be great to get a version of this without the gunshots. 3:24 to 4:17 is beautifully somber, and not anywhere else in any other version of this song.
There's two versions of this full theme on CZcams with gunshots in different places (not sure why). By combining and editing them together, it may be possible to remove some gunshots entirely.
You edit it out then
But I do agree I love that part of the song
