Dach is 22 though and is just coming into his, maybe we need to give slaf some time.

Generational player maybe before your life time but not mine, I was in my early teens when I saw him play....he is my generational player and favorite then, now and always!! Hugs to Sherman 😉

Enjoyed the show but there's no way Colorado takes Monahan and Hoffman. It's already been said (unless something has changed that I'm unaware of) that their captain is set to be back by the trade deadline so count that salary out to acquire other players.
Pulujarvi I absolutely do not want to see here, Lavoie though I would but don't see Edmonton giving him up. Dadonov to Washington is a major stretch also. Sorry but I don't see any of these trades happening at all 🤷♂️
Agree with all except for Puljujarvi and Lavoie. I wouldnt mind having a reclamation project in Puljujarvi, especially since his value is almost negative so we wouldn't have to give up a lot for him. Im really not high on Lavoie, I dont know if he ever becomes an NHL player. I hope im wrong because he looks like a great kid and I hate saying that about people
i too am still waiting for the realistic trade proposals, i was promised realistic trade proposals.
the avs deal only happens if we take back the erik johnson contract. monahan alone, or monahan and a prospect like, say, norlinder, heineman, or mysak, will net us a much better return.
if the oil want edmundson, they can pay a real price like anyone else. lavoie has shown nothing so far, and quite frankly neither has puljujarvi. i fully expect next year JP will be playing in finland, because he won't be qualified, and who will pick him up? we'll take foegele if we need a salary back, and bourgault or schaefer or a 1st. send a 4th with eddy.
i can't see why the caps would consider dadonov. if they really need a russian they'll pay the price for tarasenko.
any trade involving monahan, dadonov, drouin, or hoffman sees the habs eating the full 50%. let's just assume that as a given.

Wouldn't Drouin (if healthy) make more sense than Hoffman with Colorado? Less term + wishful that good old days drouin with mack pays out

You could only retain salary on 3 contracts within one NHL season but assuming you didn’t mean all of these unfolding at the same time then some make sense

Shane mentioned it. There’s a touch of it, for sure. Hugo didn’t disappoint in their first trade deadline, expecting 1 or 2 decent deals this year too.
Monahan/ Hoffman to Colorado not likely. Hoffman extra year and Monahan too risky. Lots of less risky players for a !st in strong draft. No other contender has much cap space. Lots of teams selling nobody paying a lot. Much better deals out there. Edmonton needs a top 2 defenceman and not giving up young guys unless they get young guy back. I do not see Montreal being able to trade any of these players unless they take back contracts.

I would never touch Raphael lavoie he doesn’t have any pace and i think he didn’t improve since he is in the ahl I would ask Xavier Bourgault.

Did you watch the 2021 cup run? Or when he won the cup with STL in 2019? How would a team not want him?
@DrewDekes that was 2 years ago, players age and Edmundson isn't that good anymore,
you also have to see that Oilers have Desharnais now a 6'6 strong defensive Dman only making 760k(roughly)
Oilers left side is Kulak, Desharnais and Broberg, Edmundson doesn't outplay any of them to get into there but habs will get lucky and some other team will overpay for him
