Five Reasons Why I Chose to Live in Tehachapi, CA: 1. Homes are Affordable 2. Traffic is Minimal 3. The Community is Fantastic 4. Farm Animals Everywhere 4. The Land of Four Seasons
I moved out to Tehachapi almost 4 years ago from Santa Clarita as well. We love it out here, and it’s been so good for my mom’s health because the SCV summers were taking a massive toll on her. We just hope that the town doesn’t grow much bigger than it already has so it could STAY a small town.
Tehachapi is amazing. Friendly people, good food, beautiful place! Also check out the Tehachapi Depot Railroad Museum. Great place with tons of railroad and local history. (There's also a railcam there-Tehachapi Live Train Cams they are on YT). Kohnens Bakery, Kelcys Café, P-Dubs and Burger Spot are great). I live in Bakersfield! --I will say I do love Santa Clarita too
The population of the Tehachapi City limits is about 13,000. The complete population of the Tehachapi Valley area is between 35,000 to 40,000 per the Kern County Sheriff website. A far cry from when I was a kid growing up there with 13,000 being the entire area and city only having about 3,500 people.
I live in Tehachapi but in bed bear valley springs tho I love it but I have one bad next door neighbor tho she hit my horse and called animal control on me and the cops and Bear valley people she yelled at me and told the cops she is going to shoot my horse with a BB gun but I have done nothing at all she is just rude but love the video❤❤

And you have the "Tehachapi Loop"
Yes we do!
Still like it there?
Dont forget low crime and low homeless people
What about the trains?
The Tehachapi Loop!
mabey a bit too warm summers
$400,000 houses are hardly affordable
We bought a 1350 sq ft house in Stallion Springs with over half an acre in 2022 for $325k. We absolutely love everything about Tehachapi!
most of the population of tehachapi is the prison
It's a bummer they just closed a unit. The prison employs many residents of Tehachapi.
No beacuse when i went there 1 truck fell off a mountain and a car hit another car and made a accident
Hey dont blow it up
