40 years after his death and the king is still spoken in such high regards.elvis was the greatest
Absolutely the greatest. He loved his fans and we love him. From South Africa 🇿🇦👍
Springsteen looks incredible considering he just turned 70
Still handsome
He’s looking more his age these days. Seems age has caught up to him during the pandemic
Every story I hear about fans showing up unannounced when Elvis was alive ends in a cool way. Elvis talked about showing up at Graceland to find two fans swimming in his pool and all Elvis said was “don’t get hurt” and went in the house. Elvis also said in his 68 comeback special how some fans snuck in his house, got on the intercom and said “we’re looking for Elvis” he came down to meet them and laughed about it.
Relentless Rescue legend.
Contrast that with the girl who lived under the floor boards in George Michael's home for a few days. I think she was prosecuted.
I heard the one about the swimming pool but not the one about the intercom. That is priceless!
One of the biggest stars ever sitting there , chuckling and telling stories about Elvis.
The Respect and awe that Bruce has towards Elvis really shows. Damn, I would have love a moment where Bruce could actually meet The King himself. Sadly that will never happen. But both Bruce and myself will keep on digging Elvis.
In 1977 Bruce had written a song he thought was perfect for Elvis... I think it was Fire... and sent it to him, hoping he'd record it.
Bruce didn't hear back, and of course Elvis died later that year.
IIRC Springsteen never found out if Elvis saw it.
The awe and admiration of Elvis really shines thru on Bruce here! If I ever was at a party together with him and I'd wanted him to "light up" and be cheerful, I'd start talking about Elvis. Always brings out the best sides of Bruce.
Same about Robert Plant. You bring up Elvis and there goes the rest of the evening! These guys love Elvis.
Bruce Springsteen and Robert de Niro sitting next to each other 💥💥💥💥
de Niro, the rage-aholic.
If I had the chance to meet Elvis I'd do anything
If I had the chance to meet the Boss I'd do anything
Anything ?
@@r.a.mpictures probably....
Me too... just saying
Elvis will always be my favorite but I love Bruce too
He should’ve pointed to De Niro, when he said ‘Taxi Driver drove us there’
De Niro: Are you talkin to me?
"Tell Elvis , Bruce Springsteen was here".... wow. Tell Elvis the newest super star is here to pay homage to Elvis 😎😆😅👍🙏. Even Super Star like Bruce Springsteen has personal idol 🤗
@Brett Stanton 👍
I remember him wearing his 'New Jersey Elvis fan club' pin on his jacket on some publicity photo long time ago.
@@beatnix99 Really? Cool fact to know. Thanks
Elvis and Warren Zevon, he always notes as inspirations
I love Elvis and Bruce!
The look on Robert's face. 😆 I'm a huge fan of Bruce. I couldn't help laughing when he told the Guard is name. Lol
Bruce has a great personality.
Should have told the security guy:
"Can you tell him that the BOSS was here"
I think King's are higher ranked than bosses.
@@ChrisOliver4307 Maybe so, but Kings don't earn it, Bosses do!
@@beckybarnes4651 The King in this case DID earn it, thank you.
@@scottjenkins3095 No he didn't, didn't pen a single song, useless.
@@beckybarnes4651 lol, Elvis wrote a few songs. But the thing is he did most of his own arrangements even on the songs he didn't write. So it's not like he was a mindless puppet.
Wow... Springsteen an Deniro on the same couch! Mind blown!
They should have meet. Two great American Legends
That's my dream to! Meet Elvis
This is just EPIC!!!! What a GREAT storyteller he is 🙏🏼💕 Could listen to him forever
Bruce Springsteen seems like one of those celebrities that you can have a couple of drinks and a good laugh with. I don't drink but still
There is a legend that says De Niro got that line in Taxi Driver ("You talkin' to me?") from Bruce. This would have been the perfect opportunity to clear that up once and for all, straight from both of the horses' mouths.
If Elvis had been there he would have met him 4 sure. And he would have loved it. I wanna met Bruce. Lol.
This is one of those incredibel strories that you just wouldn´t believe have happened if you hadn´t heard the people involved actually talking about it. Just imagine the scenary: a young Bruce Springsteen, who would become a superstar himself in the next decade, ist just startig out in his global popularity and casually knocking on the doors of his personal superstar who happens to be the biggest entertainer in music history. That thought alone is mindblowing. The fact that Bruce already was around when the old stars of Rock´n´Roll still were alive and kicking... Elvis Presley in the 70´s, and then Roy Orbison and his Black and White Night in the 80´s. What a legacy, i can´t put that into words.
What a great panel on that couch! #Boss
That's just a simple great story
Take a look at the button on the cover of born to run album. It's Bruce's Elvis Presley fan club button. Pretty cool tribute.
I wonder how Bruce would react if someone scaled his fence and knocked on his front door. I guess times have changed.
Well, if it was Elvis I'm sure he'd welcome it.
It was a simpler time.
I would welcome Bruce anytime.
CommaCam, if it were Elvis he’d probably call an exorcist.
Have you seen the footage of John Lennon with fan on driveway from 71? back in England at Tittenhurst park, MARVELOUS.
ELVIS 😇♥️ was A GIVER 💜🤑🏡🚙🚜💎💍💰 WITH A VERY BIG HEART 💙
That’s a great story.
And, I had difficulties breaking out of one of Bruce's gigs (Hyde Park, London) as I couldn't stand up, having broken my leg a couple of weeks previous to the gig and no tickets were left for disabled ;) I am a bit sad as Bruce must have been thinking, why on earth is that person leaving my gig? Only one (me) leaving mid gig as I couldn't stand up right any longer with my foot, stayed as long as I could though. So sad, I missed the rest of it as it was one of those nights (the curfew, Paul Mc Carthey etc). However, it was the coolest gig I've ever been to. Long trip from Sweden to London to hear him but even though it was worth it. xx
So, Silvio and The Boss were at the front gate of The King's house... You know it's going to be a moment in time that doesn't happen often
Thanks for sharing Bruce, great story about your idol, the 👑of music❤ 💯🙏 🎸⚡ TCBTLC⚡ 🇺🇸🇵🇷 your wife is a big of fan of Elvis, too.god bless you and your family.
I had the opportunity to ask Jerry Schilling about this . . . he said Elvis would not have been impressed at all.
Fantástica história. Pena que THE KING não estava em casa !
Si estaba, pero tú pensaste que estaba en otro sitio. Elvis always be the one
Bruce and De Nero look like they can be brothers
This couch....I gots to seeeeee this whole episode !!!!!
He and de Niro kinda look alike
I'm pretty sure they're close friends
You need to book an eye test. They look nothing alike.
@@clemencyfitzclarence6982 They DO look alike. Like father and son - or real age-wise it would be more like brothers
Thats awesome
Awesome 🤣👍
Springsteen smiles like De Niro!!!
30 seconds in and the song practically writes itself. 😂
Omg amazing story from the Boss. . 😊
Love it. U go Bruce.
For a minute i was wondering why a bad Robert De Niro look alike was on the couch next to the real thing telling Bruce Springsteen stories
Lol everyone wanna meet Elvis
For sure
What a fabulous story from the boss......
Great story!!
The BOSS himself. Looking great as usual
The Boss and the King
I wonder if Elvis knew who Bruce was. In 1975 Bruce's career was just starting. That's the year I first heard Born To Run on the radio.
De Niro and Springsteen look so much alike!
Love it !!
The King & The Boss as it should be!
no dislikes, as it should be
Spoke too soon. There are always the grumps out there no matter what.
DeNiro applauding in DeNiro
God bless you for sharing 😊❤
Bruce has misremembered the year this occurred. It was 1976, not 1975. Elvis was playing in Lake Tahoe at the time.
@The Gra... Amooo❤⚘ Bruce Springsteen⚘🦋❤ Show 😘👏👏👏
"El Jefe" intentando ser recibido por
"El Rey".
Es normal.
Bruce hadn't done his version of "Follow That Dream" yet in '75, but DeNiro has been imitating Harvey Keitel for The Last 50 years in all his films...
I LOVE YOU BRUCE
Still waiting fo the full show
“The taxi driver took us” wait De Niro took them??!
The Boss looks great 💝
everyone i mean everyone wants to meet elvis .. today’s stars are not even in the same dimension, universe, etc as he is.
@The Gra... Querido! Bruce Springsteen. Que pena que não entendo Inglês, por gentileza traduza em Português, eu ia amar. Bjs😘❤🇧🇷
Bruuuuuuuce
Well he mixed up the year. It was 1976. And Elvis played Lake tahoe. But i mean when the year goes by its not easy remembering correctly.
But on another note i dont think it was the closest he ever got to Elvis. Since Bruce and Steve van Zandt attented one of Elvis concerts on the 28 of may 1977 in Philadelphia.
Bruce and de Niro look like they could be brothers
Elvis Presley Boulevard freeze-out.
Elvis was at Lake Tahoe at that time and not Las Vegas.
The best part is watching Deniros face
Great
Pt. Pleasant, nj hi Bruce
plot twist Elvis actually was the security guard
The BOSS!!!
Robert Deniro sitting their like a panhandler
Hilarious.
He has told this story onstage before years ago..
For sure. He's told this story many many times going back decades.
That story reminds me of the time I knocked on Bruce's door.
We have a great story about meeting Bruce Springsteen on Episode 4 of our podcast! Check it out and let us know what you think!
❤
Mr. De Niro, settle down.
cool miss boss now
Da Boss...!
Graham Norton let's guests speak
😁😁😁
is it me or does Bruce Springsteen and Robert de Niro look like they could be father and son
Who is Steve? Is he talking about Steve Van Zandt?
Interesting story, I thought, bur DeNiro didn't seem too impressed by it. Looked a little bored.
Bruce ?
Igual esta rico!!!👄💋👄
Unbelievable mega stars. But god damn boring.
Is Kid Rock as good as Bruce Springsteen?
Mister Sarajevo Kid Rock isn’t even as good as Bruce Jenner
No
Kid Rock isn't even as good as Bruce Almighty!
Once I saw DeNiro I was out. Loser.
Bruce Springsteen can't even carry a tune so it was probably good Elvis wasn't there.
Springsteen music is as horrible as Elvis music is great. Springsteen songs are like a severe hangover in a music form-blaring saxophone (horrible in rock music) and vocals that sound like someone trying to take a dump with an impacted colon.
Remember when Springsteen was being hailed as the second coming of Elvis? What a disappointment he turned out to be the second coming of Joan Baez.
