I often watch this video too. I'm 72 now, but in my 30's we could have taken a similar video as I often sailed with friends on a 35' C&C, on Lake Champlain. Beautiful scenery, beautiful women. Hardly a care in the world when we were there. Sadly so many have passed on. It just brings back such beautiful memories.
We chartered a sailboat about six or seven years ago for a weekend in Catalina. Sailed out past the Queen Mary and over to the island. One of the best trips ever. I happened to come across this video soon after and I've been watching it once in a while ever since. Something about it, just puts me in a good mood. Ahhh, good memories.
I'm gonna give this two thumbs up only because i don't have three thumbs. Me and my younger bro sailed to Catalina on a boat about that size in June 2008. Epic fun. On the return leg when i was near death from a hangover + rough seas, about 20 friendly dolphins took pity on me and gave us a close-in tight formation escort almost the entire way from Avalon to Long Beach.
Thanks for posting this video. It has been years since I've sailed between SoCal & Catalina Island, and this brought back some precious memories. It is hard to beat the fun one has on a sailboat with good friends and the proper accutrements. Sail on.
Guys....Congratulations!....Beautiful....Beautiful....Video! and for the one's that don't get it.....ouffffff.....wow.....you are missing in Life! Cheers
@studioxps I used to crew a Catalina 38 back in the early 80's. Loved it and have made this trip several times! I think the Isthmus is my favorite spot on the island. I miss the weekend trips we would take there. Loved seeing Bird Rock at 1:13!
Wow! It looks like a beer commercial! Great job on the vid, the sailing, and the friends. Soon we will have our sailboat. (rubbing hands together) SOON! Except I don't know anyone that looks like any of y'all, can I borrow some of your friends? lol
Sailboats are so affordable since this depression started that you might be surprised at what you could afford. There are marinas around us that have given away sailboats that people abandoned because they could not afford the slip fees. Marinas sometimes sell boats that they take ownership of and sell them for what is owed. Most need a bit of work. Save a bit, buy a boat, and move aboard. You'd be surprised at how inexpensive the lifestyle can be. Then you can save for a 39 foot Catalina.

Can't tell you how many times I've watched this. The video and the song just take me to a very serene place. I need that sometimes.

@kshellakarl Yes, chartered it from Marina Sailing in Marina Del Rey. Sailed out to Catalina Island. Specifically, to Two Harbors.
:18 sweeeet
Can someone tell me where the Men's sailing "captain's" sweater is from?! I've been looking everywhere for it.
Did you charter this boat? Where were you sailing?
The Rush
The wind, how it made this one to be,
a vessel of moments lost at sea.
The wake of memories still moves today,
pushing the vessel on its way.
@JorgeHurtadoJr82 It was, appropriately enough, a Catalina 39
Where can I get a blazer and tie t-shirt?
nice boat, corona sucks
Where can one get the faux tie sailor t-shirt? :)
No drinking and driving the boat.
Your mom
where did you find the chicks?
:D
Where babies come from.
no audio :(
liked anyway...
In the toilet, where else?
Life vests are extremely overrated
Who's F!$#$ sailing? Sailing is much more than this...
A bunch of drunks!!! Irresponsible, boating and drinking!!!!!
