I had an old car that started to smoke a bit of white smoke, just a bit. I had to refill the coolant like every few weeks. Then, the problem got worse thru the months and I had to refil the coolant every few days. Later, the problem got worse exponentially, to the point that my car was running in low idle, heavy white smoke, and had to put a gallon of coolant every 20 mins that day. Well, I went to the mechanic and told me is the head gasket and is not worth to repair it. Had to a gallon of coolant before and after going there. I parked my car, I didn't use it, and when I had time, I junked the car. That day, when I drove to the junkyard, I refilled it with water and my car was about to stall and was overheating, it consumed a whole gallon of water in just 5 mins!! Good thing I made it! Lol

When you get to having to do it every few days, you probably (ideally) should know somethings mega up, and shouldn't be driving it lol.
(Ideally. Don't help when you're living the single car life)

Hi I have a question My cars gauge goes really high and I believe its overheating .I place some Radiator Coolant to the Reservior .Then after that it drains my Fluids I put in the Reservior .I already replace the Thermostat in my Car . And still the temperature still going high and I run my OBD reader 2 and it finds a P0115 which is Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit . I bought a new Temperature Sensor but still its leaking fluids in the Reservior tje temperature gauge go higher . A good advice would be beneficial for me .

When is it not worth fixing a head gasket issue vs just junking the vehicle?

Cost of repair vs value of the vehicle.

Based on the engine. Let's say a 2jz. That's nothing to that engine. Now let's say it's a aluminum V6 block which most car companies have these days it's not worth it.

All depends. Is it a love child, or are you one of those folk who can go through cars like a teenage girl goes through shoes.
And overall funds available of course. That can defeat the lovechuld aspect easily depending

At times my car smokes white smoke. For example: I start the car and no smoke out of the exhaust, I drive it around for an hour, I park. Leave it for 10 minutes, an hour and start the engine again and that’s when it smokes heavily. Does anybody knows what is this? I own a 07 CRV

not sure, could possibly be a few things
and depends on the color of the smoke

Still sounds like a head gasket. To confirm check coolant levels and make sure they don’t change. Always check when cold
