I love all the submissions and all the variations that were invented. So cool how there are so many different riffs on the same idea and they all look both unique but still hold to the original concept so well. Love it. Thanks for sharing, Bill (and team!) and congrats again!
Thank you very much! We consider ourselves really lucky to have such an amazing community
WAAAAH!!! Congrats on hitting 600k subs!!! 100% wasn't expecting mah Mando helmet to show up at 6:50.
Cosplay and props have somehow been my favourite hobby, Thank you so much for giving me inspiration and awesome ideas for props to build!!!
I'm actually starting on my very first prop that I intend on completing because of this channel. I've learned so much :^)
That's absolutely fantastic! Thank you so much for supporting us, we can't wait to see what you make!
Just... WOW!
Some of those helmets looked rushed, some looked camera-ready for the next SW film, some were crossovers with other universes, every one an inspiration.
Isn't it phenomenal? The variety and range of how people interpreted the same design is just fantastic
Well I couldn’t finish mine in time
@@snakezase2998 Don't apologize or make excuses, I didn't even *think* about doing one at all. Whatever you got done is orders of magnitude better than what I could have got done in the same time. You have something to finish too, and time to do it the way you want.
I am not one for large props like helmets. I'm better at smaller stuff like hand props and say guns. But hey, I may have to do as the man says and try to break out of my comfort zone, you know?
Congratz on hitting 500k!!!!, I had alot of fun with the mando helmet looking forward to more projects to come
Thank you so much for your support and for giving our little challenge a try!
Hi Punished Props Academy! Wishing you the best on your tutorial series! Seems like you are having great success and lots of engagement.
Yay! All the Mando helmets look great! Love how different they all are! Also that dwarven helmet looks awesome!
Thanks so much Elton! We're totally enchanted by how creative our community members are!
Congrats on 600k!! 👍
Those were some great builds.
They all turned out so great! Thanks so much for your support :)
I had never thought of foam crafting, then I saw your Mandalorian build. You made it look so easy. Now I'm hooked! I can't stop foam crafting!
That's absolutely fantastic! Thanks so much for supporting our videos and joining our community!
That was just amazing. Hope Foam 3 comes out soon. I want mine!!!
Woohoo! Thank you so much for watching and supporting what we do!
Congrats on the 500k, and what a great community project. Love it!
Thank you so much!
Thanks again for the inspiration... your tutorial has started me on my journey with EVA foam crafting.
That's so fantastic!! Thank you so much for your support, we're so excited to have helped you start on your journey!
Been looking forward to this! 👍🏻
There are so many awesome builds!
What makes me happy is that a lot of these were someone’s first project. I hope whoever that is continues to build and explore the world of prop making !!
Isn't that just the absolute best? We're so stoked!
Thanks for all the awsome videos and showing fan works..I love watching
Congratulations again on 500k! It's so cool and inspiring to see how everyone envisions the helmet and adds their own twist to it. Thanks so much for sharing and can't wait for your third book in the Foam Smith series!
Isn't it fantastic? So much variety! Thank you for sharing your work with us :)
I was so excited to see your work up there! Awesome Job DFC Props.
@@punishedprops it was quite fun to participate! :)
@@PlanetAlexanderProjects thanks Alex! It was super fun to make and even more exciting to see what others came up with.
So very cool. Thank you so much for the inspiration!!!
Thank YOU for supporting us and watching our videos!
Don’t call me fellow maker. I’m just addicted to watching your wizardry.
(with golem voice) coming to the other side become one of us take a foam cut into pieces it is easy it will have fun
3Dprinted_axe All I need is this channel and a few good taters.
Why don't you make anything?
Joshua Young same man
awesome work from everyone. well done people, and amazing work from bill as always.
Congrats on hitting 500k my dude! I just wanna say... I've always been interested and curious about cosplay and making prop pieces, but I've never done it. But your Mandalorian helmet video inspired me, and I can't wait to finish it and start on the next project 😁😁
Heck yeah! Thank you so much!
One of my favorites propsmaker you rocks dude and congrats to the 500k
Thank you so much for your support!
There are some outstanding pieces in amongst those. I especially love all the variations and original tweaks they've all put on them to make them unique.
Isn't it wonderful?
Punished props should make a full suit of power armor from fallout 4.
This was a great project. And the pattern was spectacular.
Thank you so much for participating!
I'm definitely getting Foamsmith 3. I've started collecting helmets that interest me, and definitely want to learn how to make my own. Plus, did anybody else see the red and gold Mandalorian helmet and immediately think "Iron Man-dalorian" or was it just me?
Awesome, we're working to get it out as soon as we can!
Hell yeah can't wait for foam smith 3!
Woohooo!!!
Hello! Just subscribed to you channel! This is exciting to find. I work for a Halloween manufacturing company called Distortions and we make props, animatronics, etc. Best wishes on your tutorial series!
Congrats on hitting 500K subs! Such an achievement
Thank you so much!
wow they're at 602k now
Thanks for making awesome videos that inspire my son and I to be creative and make cool props
The one made by "Lauren" around 11:58 that looked like galvanized sheet metal demonstrates a principle that I have used my entire life..."If you can't hide a seam-> celebrate it" ...make it a design feature...Nicely Done !
Isn't that so neat? It may be cardboard too, which is really impressive
Thanks for showing off my helmet! Congrats on 500k! (Now 600k!)
Thank you so much! And thank you for sharing your awesome work with us!
4:32 I never knew how much I wanted synthwave Boba Fett until today
Haha, tah-dah!
Right??? I have a bit more detail on my channel of it.
Better get ready for 750k!
I loved this build, almost complete. This was my first attempt with EVA and i am hooked! Wish i was a few moths earlier so i could have made the video.
Hey that's fantastic that you're giving it a shot!
@@punishedprops I finished the Helmet!! Your amazing, love watching your videos. I have to say, you got me into my new hobby! Almost done with a full Mandalorian set.
I can't wait till the 1 million special prop build!
Wooo!!!!
congrats on 600k dude you're amazing
Thank you so much!
daaaaamnn those are awesome, really inspiring and helping others to build all kind of things. I was actually thinking that it would be awesome to see building a Power Ranger helmet either if its made of foam or 3D printed just after i saw lelouch's mask video, you really nailed it!!!!!!!!!!
Aren't they amazing? Thanks for the suggestion
And what amazing helmets!
Congratulations!
Thank you very much!
great job everyone!
So many wonderful helmets!
Amazing !
Right?
Really looking forward to the impending release of Foamsmith 3!
I'm so pleased that so many people had a crack at the Mando helmet and submitted some video. There were so many good ones, but my favourites (in no particular order) were:
* The Pepakura helmet.
* The helmet that looked like welded stainless steel.
* The Ironman-dolorian helmet.
Well done, everybody! :)
Aren't they all so cool? Really proud of this community :)
the helmet at 7:42 looked like it had an amazing interior, wish we saw more!
People did such awesome work!
Congrats on hitting 600K! I was sad I couldn't make a Boba Fett helmet for this round but maybe I'll be able to make something for your 1M celebration!
Heck yeah! Thanks so much for your support!
So cool!
Right??
Just bought the basic helmet template off your site hoping to make a judge Dredd helmet! Cheers for the content!
Fantastic! Have fun!
This is the way
Heavily underrated
I didn't go all the way back in your videos, so I was wondering if you ever made a Clone Trooper helmet V1 or V2? If not, could you make both?
Foamsmith 3? Can't wait to order mine! and helmets are one of my favorite pieces of a costume to build!
Huzzah!
FS3 hype!
Woohoo!!
Nice & Snug Props Academy!
Thanks so much for watching!
Everyone did an amazing job but my favorite was Nick Kettman's, brilliant just brilliant.
Who is your favorite Jedi? Mine it Kit Fisto.
And yes I know those are not Jedi.
Oh man I'm not sure who my favorite is. And yes, we are so delighted with everyone's projects. We're so lucky to have such a marvelous community!
This is the way.
Foamsmith 3 hype!
Hope you have a proofreader for the book; if not, I'm available ;D
We can't wait!
Hey.
Love your work and it's a big reason I am an aspiring prop maker. I don't want to do full costumes mostly smaller hard bits. Things like weapons, helmets and armor. I'm looking to utilize 3d printing mostly.
I'm building a portfolio of replica props already.
Any tips or advice you could lend to someone starting out?
My Favorite was the Medieval Iron Helm version.
Neat, huh?
Awesome! Mine was the last one - Boba Fett approves!
Heck yeah!
FYI, only one off your books is available on Amazon UK it’s only the first one.... :-(
Ever considered making a replica of one of the original Thomas and friends gauge 1 props? The Thomas wiki has soooo much information about them.
I have not!
Bill have you thought about doing something similar to what flite test on youtube does putting together kits (all the materials ) for projects for sale then do build vids that go with them for noobs and then a master class series of projects for the more advanced makers.
We used to sell kits but it's currently not something we're able to do on a large scale right now.
Please make plans for a scout trooper helmet! Also, where do you buy foam? Do they ship overseas?
Check out Basic Shop Tools: punishedprops.com/bills-tools/ - we list all the tools we use the most often and have links for where to get them!
Like the praitor suit helmet
What is the best flexible tinted plastic to use for the visor?
Many folks use replacement face shields but you can also use thin acrylic!
anyone know if they have done a video on ideas for what to do with off cuts of foam? specificaly the edges of the floormats? i have tons but dont wanna throw them away, and other then using them for paint and glue testers idk what to do with them
We honestly usually toss out foam scraps that are smaller than a hand. They just pile up and never get used. You totally CAN find uses for them, like making spikes or other small shapes to accent larger builds, but they're often so small they're difficult to work with.
U should make a series where people send a design of something and u built it
Can you show us how to make a hollow Rey staff. I had this really cool idea that it could conceal your lightsaber blade when it's not in the hilt. And I don't have a 3d printer so... yah lol
That's a fun idea! I bet you could use PVC pipe as a base
@@punishedprops that's what I was thinking. I have been thinking about it for a while and just could not come up with the best way to make it look relatively accurate and keep the blade safe internally
These are really nice. Although I have one question for people who wear this to conventions or sth like that. How do you deal with the heat when wearing these helmets?
Many Mandalorian costumers install helmet fans! It's also always advisable to take breaks from wearing helmets.
@@punishedprops I see, thanks for replying 😁
I wish you would’ve done this with the lightsaber project, I have too many custom made and designed sabers soooo
We'll have more community challenges!
U should make an update version of the doom slayer armour with a robotic hand thats a gun
What if you did weiss’s sword from RWBY
John Ulvi at 7:40 killed it
Righ? Everyone did a great job!
First foam prop, turned out great thanks too this awesome channel! All the helmets looked great, thanks for the awesome project.
For a first timer who wants to make a helmet, should I get Foamsmith 1 or 3? Is 3 newbie friendly?
The books are designed to be read in order and build on one another, so I'd start with 1! It's not about helmets specifically but still teaches all the basics you need to know for working with foam.
I'm way behind on my helmet. I need to finish my DL44 blaster first.
You can do it!
Hey I love your works and I would like to see you make type the some from sweden .love from a swedish dude
Thanks so much for your support!
You know a way to take this a step further is to make one out of real metal!
After a long time I making a mandalorian helmet but not the classic style but The one that Revan uses
Heck yeah!
Q&A question what all conventions do you go to like do you to hal-con
Check out www.punishedprops.com/convention-appearances/ to see our convention plans!
Epic helmets tho it would be cool if you could make a T-45 power armor
That would be super cool
It would be amazing to make a real big-boy if it's possible
Thanks for the suggestion!
You know what i think would be cool? If you made the E-11 from star wars
Could you do Strife's Mercy and Redemption guns from Darksiders?
Thanks for letting us know you're interested in that build! We have our current schedule worked out, but there could be room for this kind of video in future plans.
Man, really love your vids!
Can you PLEASE make the gravity gloves from Half Life: Alyx?
Thank you so much for your support!
Anyone know how the person got that texture at 5:15?? Love that!!
They probably bought a hammered (insert metal here) spray paint and got to texture that way but there’s other ways to get that texture too I’m sure
8:54 @capkaempfer!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Isn't that a rad design?
Any chance you could make a Thulsa Doom helmet from Conan the Barbarian?
It's not in our plans currently but it's good to know you're interested!
Hi, i'm from Cape Verde and I love your works, i want to make a short film and here we can't find a airsoft gun, can you guys please make a prop militar and normal day weapons with foam? Please
They have a few older videos and I believe the 2nd foamsmith book covers them a lot too.
Thanks for your interest, but Punished Props is not currently taking on any new commission clients. Thank you for your understanding!
Feel free to check out our shop where we have books to help you learn how to work with foam, and our 700+ videos on our CZcams channel!
Wheres a good place in the UK to get EVA foam rolls? ive wanted to make your mando helmet for ages
I'm not sure, try checking local forums to see where other people find their materials.
@@punishedprops I don't know where to start looking for forums but thanks
!!!!!!Amazing¡¡¡¡¡¡ ©
I know right?
@Punished Props Academy you should try a dearth Vader helmet or a stormtrooper one!!???🙏👍
Thanks for the suggestion!
man i wish i submitted mines... :( .. well im still working on mines
No worries at all! You can always share what you make with us on Twitter: twitter.com/chinbeard
Dang it. Mine didn't make it into the video. The rest of these were really awesome though
I'm sure yours turned out great! We put all the helmets we received through our form into the video - there may have been a file issue and we didn't hear from you. But always feel free to share what you make with us on Twitter: twitter.com/chinbeard
@@punishedprops oh. I posted mine as a photo on Twitter. I didn't realize it was supposed to be sent as a video.
You could almost call it a Mandwemerlorian helmet😁
Hah! Totally!
U should make the doom armour
Please make Sung Jin-Woo's dagger from Solo Leveling its a really cool weapon
Thanks for the suggestion!
you should make an Orochi from for honor or just a general samurai helm
Thanks for the suggestion!
@@punishedprops I didn't know you actually replied. big CZcamsrs don't really do that often. I thank you for taking it into consideration and hope you have a good year.
BRO, IM MAKING A MANDALORIAN HELMET FROM UR OTHER VIDEO RIGHT NOW
Fantastic!
How can I send you a video of the one I made using your templates?
Share what you make with us on Twitter: twitter.com/chinbeard
do you guys know how can i get eva foam in mexico?
I'm not sure, as I haven't ever tried to get materials there. I always suggest looking up forums for cosplayers/costumers and seeing where other people find their supplies in your country.
they just got 100k subs from the time they started filming the vid to now..
Woohoo!!
Can you guys plz make some 40k cadian shock trooper armour that would be so cool
Thanks for letting us know you're interested in that build! We have our current schedule worked out, but there could be room for this kind of video in future plans.
