  • In the fiercely competitive world of the NBA, where only a select few achieve superstardom, the stories of lesser-known players often go unnoticed. From Jameson Curry's brief but remarkable stint to Ish Smith's record-setting journey across 13 teams, these players exemplify the resilience and dedication required to navigate the league's challenges. Brian Scalabrine, Trevor Ariza, Thad Young, AC Green, and Jeff Green showcase the diverse paths and enduring contributions of NBA veterans who may not grace the headlines but embody the heart and passion that define basketball. Their journeys underscore the significance of every player's presence in the NBA, emphasizing that success in the league transcends individual accolades, echoing the sentiment that making it to the NBA should never be underestimated or dismissed. Stay tuned to learn more about their stories and learn what really is the NBA’s greatest achievement.

      Scalabrine still trash. Kwame Brown is closer to some great basketball player too cuz he played over 10 years but he still trash. I'm always laughing at people acting like that was some kind of philosophical thing for Scalabrine to say at the end of the day there's always big tall guys who sit on the bench a lot because they're big and tall it's always went on in the NBA and it's not going to stop.

    • @YeeSoest
      @YeeSoest Před měsícem +25

      @@ramsesstafford4640 Trash in NBA terms, sure, but an entirely new level of legend as soon as he steps on YOUR homecourt for example. I don't mean Scal coming to your hometown, I mean a guy with his skillset but NO name would be considered the local GOAT!
      There's thousands of healthy 7 footers reaching NBA age each year and about 7 of them make the NBA. It's not just size, sorry. It's not JUST pro Basketball, you'd be right if we were talking some lower league somewhere but this is the Champions League of Basketball and nobody is trash there.
      It's not something philosophical, it's just something easy to memorize and grasp but still SO hard to admit for many amateurs.

      @@YeeSoest yet my point is still being made. Nobody Spud Webb, Earl Boykins or Nate Robinson's height stays in the NBA for 10 years that don't ever really play yet there's always somebody 6'10" and taller riding pine I never said they don't have a skill set. Regards on what you think you're just proving my point. 🤣

    I saw Jordan's final years and LeBron's entire career. I witnessed Linsanity and caught myself wondering if Jason Williams could do a chest pass.
    But Andre Ingram... for some reason I saw that game live on TV and it was pure magic and heart and tears and goosebumps😊

Green quietly holding the fort down, Thad's consistency and Ariza's roughness over the years, Jeff & Ish travels and them getting a ring. The 6 degrees of separation with Green is nuts.

    I played high school ball on a state tourney semifinalist team. I went to an NCAA tourney making university. We were playing pick up one night in the gym early on my freshman year, when I still thought I should think about going to walk on tryouts just to see. 4 guys from the team showed up, including one of the walk ons. The walk on, who was my height, didn't miss a shot from inside 28 feet in like 2 hours. None of the guys on that team, where he was a 12th man, ever made the NBA...I played in a few corporate leagues with some former D3 guys, those guys would smoke nearly any high school player.

    Anyone who talks trash on an NBA player ,or even a d-league player are in serious need of a reality check. There are something like 500-600 players in the NBA each year ,compare that to the population of the world and maybe gain some perspective on how good these dudes are. Apply that same perspective to every professional sport . But,that's not to say that there aren't people out there that circumstances didn't go the way they may need to go in order to make it to the pros. Like with the guys who don't even get a shot at playing time even after making it, that doesn't necessarily mean they don't possess the talent or potential to succeed

    It's actually insane to think that there hasn't even been a total of 5 thousand players that have played in the league up to now with how long the NBA has been around. The NBA and the NHL have to be THE 2 toughest leagues to break into. Only 5 players on the court/ice at 1 time (6 for hockey with their goalie). 15 players on an NBA roster during the regular season/21 in the offseason compared to a 53 man roster in the NFL, and they can carry up to 90 players during the offseason. So anybody that makes it to the NBA I give major props... bench warmer or not. We as average joes talking trash about ANY elite athlete while we sit at home on the couch just watching while they PLAY has always been hilarious to me. Any NBA bench warmer would wipe the gym floor with any one of us.
