      It's because Grom was duped by Garrosh. When Garrosh showed him his timeline's future of the orc's enslavement to the Legion, and later to the humans after the Second War, he left out the part of the latter bit that the reason the orc's were enslaved a second time was because they tried to murder the humans first (or should I say, twice, given they won the First War). This, and Garrosh's warmongering influence in wanting to destroy this timeline's Draenei before they could ally with the counter-invading main-timeline Azeroth, gave Grom a "Never Be Hurt Again" complex that easily led him to also wage war against them. It's not shown here due to poor writing, but explains why he changed his ways so quickly after Garrosh was killed and he was fed humble pie by Gul'dan, when our heroes freed him and told him the whole truth. And if Evil Future!Yrel is to be believed, she and Grom even became friends in the years after this war.

      Shakduhn Its like all the forces of WoW. We fuck over the original burning legion, all those troops/factions stay. We fuck over the scourge, all the forces stay. It feels as if there's no actual implications for these expansions or results of actual alliances being built.
      It would be nice to see just random bits and pieces of previous factions take hold in other expansions. For example, just adding in certain Sporeggar troops or the Broken. From Wrath, perhaps have some minor troops from the Ebon Blade & Argent Crusade.

Grom killed thousands of innocent Draenei and used their souls to fuel his Dark Portal, and now because he sided with us when it was most convenient, he's suddenly absolved of all sin, to the point where no one - not even Yrel, a direct victim of his crimes - so much as mentions them? And Grommash doesn't even seem to show the slightest regret for his actions!

      Theodor Sik Oh yeah, definitely. WoD's whole final patch was just Blizz sweeping the expansion under the rug after the lost like half their subscribers. But, like, they didn't even put any effort to it. Grom siding with us was expected, him being "forgiven" just like that was just shitty writing on Blizz's part.

  • @NeoDragonCount

    Not gonna lie; while Warlords did introduce a lot of neat ideas with the alternate timeline travel and what not, the ending was way too sudden and too clean:
    What of all the draenei and Frostwolves killed at Grom's command? What of the arakkoa who were forced out of their refuge by the Shattered Hand? What of Grom threatening to butcher the initially less warlike Shadowmoon Clan if they did not join the Iron Horde and break their pact of not using the Dark Star? What of giving Gul'dan an even more effective war machine to corrupt to the Legion's cause?
    Also out of curiosity: Anyone wonder why it wasn't Kil'jaeden who stepped through the Black Gate? Granted I think there was dialogue indicating that Archimonde thought Kil'jaeden was too obsessed with punishing Velen and the draenei for not succumbing to Sargeras...

    • @NeoDragonCount
      @NeoDragonCount Před 8 lety

      ***** That's because the Twisting Nether exists beyond the mortal plain, i.e. the Legion to some extent is not restrained by time the same way as mortals are. Plus Archimonde will just be reborn in the Nether. The only way to put any demon as powerful as Archimonde down permanently is to kill him in the Nether, much like with the Elemental Lords like how Ragnaros was killed in Blackrock Depths, only to return to the Firelands.

    It is kind of dumb how they handled Grom. They could at least made him acknowledge the fact that what he did with the Iron Horde was horrible, and maybe state such after helping us defeat a boss or something as a gesture of good faith.
    But instead we come to HIS aid, free him and nothing of the past is even mentioned.
    Another thing they could have done too is show some hostility between Grom and the Draenei, but have them agree to set differences aside to rebuild Draenor and route the remnants of the Legion, lol like idk.. Just something!

    • @felmaster3534
      @felmaster3534 Před 7 lety +2

      The orcs shown cheering were clearly using Warsong gear, so perhaps the Warsong mainly did not join the Fel Horde. It could be that the majority of his clan wasn't corrupted had something to do with him being permitted to help rebuild. Plus, we must take into account that he was a victim to an extent: Garrosh deceived him into being our enemy, purposefully leaving out his redemption through sacrifice when he was showing Grom his main timeline fate. It all boils down to Garrosh in the end, so Grom now has a chance to live a life that he would have had if Garrosh had not intervened alongside no fel corruption.

    The point of this ending for Draenor, because people were unable to grasp it, is that the orcs recognized they'd been used, and the draenei opted to forgive them and let war between them be over; it wasn't worth continuing, and vengeance would only perpetuate a cycle of violence.
    Then Xe'ra comes along and ruins everything. Stupid condescending... floating mass of light shards.

    I still feel like there are several things left unanswered: Whats happens now? Does everyone just forget what Grom did? Does Grom accept the fact that the Iron Horde won't be able to continue its conquest, but is rather grateful that Gul'dan is no longer a threat? Perhaps Grom had a change of heart when he watched Kilrogg drink the demons blood alongside his fellow allies? Theres just so much left unanswered, but one good thing that comes out of this is how they seem to wrap up all of the loose ends that were born from Warlords of Draenor.
    Blizzard seemed very intent on ending WoD, as they wanted to get back to the main-story plot that involves the legion. They must have simply agreed that Draenor will work itself out after this ending, and want the players to focus more on what Gul'dan is doing in OUR timeline.
    P.S - Thanks Garrosh for triggering a chain of events leading to Gul'dan, the most powerful warlock, to our timeline.

    • @MetaL556
      @MetaL556 Před 8 lety

      Well, I heard there was meant to be a storyline that deals with Grommash and the whole "We will be conquerors!" thing that he had going after shoving an axe in a demon's head. Yet another cut on the bush - a bush that eerily looks like a withered branch with a few yellow leaves desperately holding on. I have no idea what Blizzard was thinking that it all went so wrong - you don't cut this much content unless you have severely fucked up somewhere and decided "we have no time".
      As for Garrosh - it's mostly Kairozdormu's fault he ended up there in the first place, as his mad plans to become "INFINITE" involved getting Garry to build him a Horde... and then another one, and another one, and as many of them as they can pull from other timelines. He gets what he deserves immediately after they arrive, at least. And then again when we come for his soul on the legendary ring questline. Because Garrosh can smell bullshit from a mile away and knew Kairoz had no good intentions for him, but all the same decided to use him for his own ends. Actually a clever use of an opportunity.
