- A lot of people have been farming the shell credits for the 2x event. However, as I mentioned in this video, it is objectively better to farm the forgery challenges. I explain exactly why this is so and if you disagree, leave a comment down below and we can debate the statistics and probabilities.
All in all, the 120 waveplates usage per day can be better utilized to save waveplates when the event is gone.

I'll stick with farming shell credits, forgery and xp imo is just trying to rush the process. Shell credits is for multi use across lvling resonators, skill trees, weapons, echos, cooking mats.
It is universal that is true. I am merely pointing out the benefits based on opportunity cost, it by no means is a way to force my opinions on others. Do what you want to because ultimately it's up to the gamers how they want to play their games
I farmed forgeries in 1.0 that i literally sits in a wad of ascending materials. The Helix, the one that looks like eggs, and the metallic drip. Whenever there's no events i go straight to forgeries.
So many forging materials, but shells is the one i'm struggling so all attenpts goes to shells dungeon
@@kennethcastillo9667 if you already have a lot of forgery stuff there is no reason to force your attempts there. At that point shell credits are worth it because you need a lot of them anyways
@@LTZGam3s by the time I got into lvl 50 every upgrade is a pain in shell currency. I thought 6 M is good enough to upgrade 9 units, how wrong I was 😅. The 6 M turns into a 100k in just a span of an hour. Now I'm wondering what will face me on level 60.
@@kennethcastillo9667 Definitely, shell credits will always be needed for every upgrade, whether it's echoes, weapons, characters or even cooking.
We need like 3M shell Credits for 1 characters, by making a safe estimate. That's kinda crazy if you think about it

same here, just gonna farm shell credits with the leftover 120 after I get enough rage tacet cores
Before the x2 event even started I already farm up for changli lvl 80 with skills at 7. So people got enough time to have her and the 2 new chars should they choose but getting a char and weapon to level 90 won't be cheap. So taking this event it's best to have some days where is all shell criedts. I'm setting at 4mil atm but would hate to go under 5mil at this point never know when something rare would cost shells and not money.
You are right about that, which is why the forgery challenge is good for anyone that wants to build their characters - DPS, Supports, Sub DPS, second / third teams and so on...
Farming the resonance potions and weapon exp is also a good alternative. Of course shell credits are extremely important, but the point I am making is that it doesn't fluctuate.
If it doesn't fluctuate, you get less value in comparison to another stage that is like a jackpot = x5 reward.
If you have no issues with any of the resources then it's still not a bad decision to farm shell credits of course. And yeah it takes like 5M shell credits to max a character + weapon
That is... Not how statistics work.
Double rewards is double rewards.
Sure, there is a chance you will get more materials than average on a forgery challange, but you can also get less materials than average. Statistically, in the end, it all averages out.
Assuming you will eventually need to farm both anyway, the amount of waveplates you save by farming the forgery or the simulation challanges is the same. Just farm whatever you need.

You are ASSUMING the double event lasts forever, in which yes there is no difference.
The event only lasts for 7 days when it comes out and you get 21 claims in total. There is a LIMITED amount of claims you can get so there is a huge difference between getting and not getting golds.
Your point about getting less materials than average makes no sense either because you get 2x rewards. And on the off chance you DO get a gold, you save waveplates on runs that you would have needed to convert to gold.
Again, I made a point about simulation challenges being worth it as well because of the drops. I singled out shell credits because it is the only thing that remains constant = therefore not the best option for a limited double drop event.
You can absolutely spend all your waveplates farming whatever you want but optimisation is the point of the video

21x forgery during the double drop event, and 42x simulation afterward
or
21x simulation during the double drop event, and 42x forgery afterward

Let me put it another way.
Your argument is that, in the off-chance you get lucky, you can end up with more than 42x "average runs" worth of materials in the forgery. Which is true. But if you are unlucky, you can also end up with less.
Meanwhile, if you do the simulation challange, you will always end up with exactly 42 runs worth of resources, no more, no less.
Statistically, doing either the forgery or the simultion during the double drop event saves you the exact same amount of waveplates later on.
The "opportunity cost" is the same.
So just farm whatever you need.
Forgery challenges are not "more optmal".

The biggest issue people have with resources is the lack of upgrade materials. Resonance potions and weapon exp are also scarce resources, which I agree.
However you need 67 gold ascension materials for 1 character, and that is without consideration for the weapon ascension.
I made it a point to elaborate that farming simulation is just as good as forgery if you need the resources (at the end of the video).
I only specifically pointed out shell credits as a "wasted opportunity cost", not the other simulation challenges, which as you pointed out is true.
And I fully agree on that point aside from the shell credits stage
@@LTZGam3s Oh, I do agree that, overall, forgery materials are pretty scarce.
What I was contesting is the idea that the RNG involved in the forgery challenge somehow makes it more valuable during the double drop event specifically.
That said, if you are trying to max a character's skills, shell credits will eventually become scarcer than character and weapon exp, I think.

The only point of contention is the value per waveplate you can get and maximising potential drops is more likely to benefit players rather than detriment them.
You can definitely make the point that shell credits are more valuable, and I have always acknowledged that as well

Fully agree on this. The video is only made to talk about opportunity cost which a lot of people might not have considered. It is by no means made to convince people to only farm one thing
If your luck is bad then better go for shell credits tbh..

This can be kinda true... it's based on RNG, however it is about chance and RNG, the opportunity can outweigh stability and consistency
I'm currently spamming forgery challenge, for Changli of course. Given the amount for the highest rarity for her talents and weapon, ughh it's too much. And since I'm not good at math for converstions, I already have 500+ of those Inert Matallic Drip, dunno if they're enough xD
Gonna be doing maybe reso exp for the last 3 days of the event, currently have near 6mil credits - the same, dunno if it'll be enough.
500 Inert Metallic Drips = 166 Reactive + 2 Inert; or
55 Polarized Metallic Drips + 1 Reactive + 2 Inert; or
18 Heterized Metallic Drips + 1 Polarized + 1 Reactive + 2 Inert
Inert: green ---------- Reactive: blue ----------- Polarized: purple --------- Heterized: gold
In total, you need 67 Heterized Metallic Drips (gold) if you want to max Chang Li.
You also need 55 purples, 28 blues and 25 greens.
For Shell Credits, I would say 5M is more than enough for character + weapon upgrades.

I am pretty sure, with the amount of inerts you have, you definitely have a lot of the others so I would say you are pretty much set on the pre-farming unless you want to get her weapon as well....
mine 2x for Forgery 1x for Shell Credit .
That is quite a good balance too. Unless you want that extra chance for gold Forgery Challenge, it's ok since shell credits become a big problem in upgrades
I went with x3 She'll Credits today, ascending my characters actually put a hole in it, I still have to ascend a fusion dps and calcharo.

players at lower Union Levels definitely get more benefit with shell credits, this is true. But only for those below UL40 though
3x Forgery Challenge. still have 6M credits at 55. i don't upgrade xht i have no use.

Because many are at a lvl where they cannot get a gold one. It all depends on the Union Level. You can balance like i did. I went for shell credits untill today and starting today untill the end i will go for the forgery

You say it "makes no sense", but can you highlight what part made no sense to you?
Luck and RNG has nothing to do with opportunity cost. If you get lucky it's a bonus, if you don't get lucky, there is nothing to lose either because you still get double rewards.
Shell Credits remain constant no matter when you farm it. The double event multiplies it by the base value which means you get 2 runs for 1.
The RNG and LUCK shouldn't be factored into when farming, otherwise you just shouldn't even farm anything but shell credits since it is never guaranteed
they will give you the lowest possible rewards on everything. farming shell credits on UL 40 to sub 60 is fine.
There is no problem with farming shell credits at all. If you farm them at any point in time it has no drop-off in value.
However, just purely from a 2x event perspective, it is better to prioritise the other stuff. If you even get 1/2 golds from forgery challenge in this 7-day event, then you would have gotten at least 10 runs worth of waveplates to get the gold chance.
Not everyone needs the forgery challenge materials though, so I understand that point of view as well

Well it is kinda sad if you get unlucky on these runs, but we still have 3 resets left, hopefully you get 1-2 at the very least. I am pretty sure there are some that got a few already

ul40-49 just go all the way credits ul50+ forgery 2x and 1x credits or just go all the way forgery until u dont need it
I can get behind this idea, just because it is way lower chance to get gold from UL40-49 as compared to UL50
@@LTZGam3s it also to do 3x shell credits 2x ascension materials prenfarm for ul50 bcoz thats the only thing really worth doing around ul40-49 and forgery value only show at ul50 for guarantee purple and a chance for gold.
