GRAVEL BIKEPACKING - CROSSING THE NETHERLANDS IN THREE DAYS

- Because we wanted to get out but not be in any crowded areas we came up with a new Botje Racing challenge: To cycle from the North to the South of the Netherlands, with as much gravel-roads as possible. We ended up with a 460km route, passing by all our grandparents so we could see them for the first time since this Corona thing started.

After about five years of road cycling, I'm starting to lose interest. Gravel/off-road cycling I think is where I need to move to until I lose interest completely. Looks amazing. Love the video!

Lovely day for a ride! Also, usually whenever I’d go camping, I’d bring food (fruits, veg, pre-packaged) that didn’t require cooking. Makes packing easier in some cases and less hassle!

Here's a tip for everyone cooking on a gas stove - bring a flint and steel, it lights the stove even when it gets wet or at any altitude:)

I've lived in Netherlands for a couple of months in 2012 and 13 and I was really shocked that there are so much gravel roads! I must go back there and do some roadtrip! :D

Fernwee Yes probably I don’t know the trail system here very well I typically am a road rider, first I’d have to get a grave bike, my Cervelo wouldn’t like gravel 😂

I am living in Rotterdam and cycling very frequently on my partial grovel bike, but never have I seen so many forests and nature as you! Please tell me where you found such roads! Wow! 😍 Beautiful 😍. I am not Dutch and wasn’t planning to live in this country but I cannot imagine not cycling in this stunning country!

Beautiful journey in netherlands! In greece is toooo mountainous for long cruises in gravel roads and a possibility of bear encounters!

Hoi uit Canada! Heb deze video net gevonden. Ben in den Helder geboren (1952) en woon in Canada sinds 1953. In 1975 reed ik de fiets van mijn Om Frans heelmaal rond Nederland van zuid, langs het Afsluitdijk en terug. Heb je een Garmin of Strava track van dit rit? Are you on Strava?

Beware, if you want to use his route. i've just done it with a friend and it does not even seem like it was the one they rode. There is still plainty of places where you just can't ride. Fences, paths that don't exist and quite a lot of boring road portions!

Have you tested Komoot in places that dont have specific maps for the country/state? Its keeping me from getting it at all since there is no package for my country and I'd have to get the whole thingie.
