- As of Today 2015 this house is no longer abandoned and is now a Church. Photos at the end of the video shows the pool full of nasty green water. And another photo of the pool after it was emptied.

The best thing about that house was the pool..
You know your poor when, even if someone GAVE me the place, I couldn't even afford to just keep electricity, air conditioning, heat and water turned on. Then you have to pay for all the house cleaning, and I would still need to furnish the place. I'll be camping in the garage, it's probably bigger then my house is anyway.

If someone had the money he had back in the day, I don't think it would even matter what he made the house look like. You could park a 737 in there, and still have space to party.

The house is for sale for 1.3 million, 3737 state route 534, Southington, OH. Sits on 60 acres. Built in 1980 and is 22,000 sf. Has a guest house and accommodations for large pets(tigers). "potential is endless"

Crazy that i stumbled onto this video. I lived much of my life in Salem, OH which is down the road from this mansion. We were always told it was Mike Tysons Mansion but i never really believed it. It was a beautiful house in a not so upscale place. I know why he never spent time there-there wasnt anything to do around there. It is the armpit of Ohio!
First of all,, when I passed by there was a wrought-iron gate with "Mike Tyson" prominently displayed. Actually, it is in a very nice area with many lovely homes. There are many old covered bridges in the immediate area as well. I would be hard pressed to decide the "armpit of Ohio," but Southington and its environs certainly don't qualify.

I lived 5 minutes away when he bought the house in 88 or 89. If I recall, it was bank owned when he bought it. He doubled the size right after he bought it. It's the only mansion around. Mike Tyson owned this house over 20 years ago, doesn't mean he abandoned it.
Can u tell me where in Ohio this is located? I'm in northeastern and I remember hearing Don King had a training camp outside of Dorset if I'm not mistaken. Thanx!!
The house is in Trumbull county, 3737, route 534, Southington Ohio. Just west of Warren. I think the training camp is in Orwell.

This house is actually beautiful on the outside, the inside was dirty for awhile but yeah its being renovated I live about five minutes away from it, its in a small town called Southington :)

To think that this place is now a church. Go check it out. They filled in the old pool with sand and concrete and that area is now the main area for worship. Amazing how things change. Mike Tyson also had kennels here for his tigers and his exotic Lamborghinis would have been parked outside.

It must have cost a ton of money to renovate that place. The old audio equipment made me chuckle a bit. I can't see someone living in a place that size listening to audio cassettes like it was still 1987. This whole mansion just screams 1980's, which I like a lot. It would be nice to see pictures of how it looks now.
I live in England just down the road from Chris Eubank and I want that mansion!! Whoever has it now just know I'm totally up for helping renovate and later the running the kitchen!

I think they are fake but high end fake. They are pretty though.
There should be a law that if any property is not occupied after a year or two then people can enter a raffle to win rights to occupy the house rent, mortgage, and tax free until a real buyer comes along. Then they need to move out but at least they had a free home to live in for awhile.

you gotta keep in mind its 2013, it was designed/built during tysons peak which was the 80s, 30 some years ago, when that was the style, that was probably a state of the art mansion when he built it, its just very dated now looking back at it
A million dollar renovation could have it back on the market in no time.

I would take that house in a minute and live in it just the way it it looks- cleaned up of course- I love that railing and all this tackiness the people's talking about I love tackiness! I love that this house screams 80s I love how the outside looks like a castle and I love the seclusion. if this house on the market today I would buy it as is. The zebra print carpet is my favorite part

The house is located in Farmington, Ohio, not far from Don King's house, which is a tribute to bad taste -- and all I saw from the road were the grounds. Why anyone would purchase acres of zebra carpetting is beyond me.

The music was a bit overwhelming. Good video though. I expected alot worst in the "after". Looks like mainly, just a little redecorating to me. I liked his style. Of coarse, I get alot of flak for liking "Graceland" (Elvis Presley's house) too.
I agree with Angela, Dub step is like jamming sandpaper in my ear holes. Oddly The main foyer thing was okay. The rest of the place was in very poor taste. Tyson would have been better off buying a bunch of rental houses with such a fleeting crappy career.
Obviously the sound can be muted, then again an attack on the sense of hearing compliments the insensitivity necessary to design the elaborate mega kitsch in this house.

I don't think it should be torched but I agree the interior design leaves a hell of a lot to be desired. Even in it's prime, this mansion was an example of extreme bad taste. There is no rhyme or reason to anything in the house. It's one excess after the other.

I think everybody focusing on the music more than the house. okay on the outside it look like the house could be used in a horror movie . Some parts of the house look okay. I remember me and my friends went to chuck berry house in the Hollywood hills but he wasn't home we went in his back yard he had a swimming pool but it look like he haven't clean it for day's it was dirty and leaves write in it.

You have to remember good old Mike came from nothing,a inner city kid. he climbed to the top (in boxing) at breakneck speed and most of his fights/living was spent in Vegas.
So I would imagine going from dirt poor living in small apartments,barely furnished,(having everyone you know living the same way) to living in a Las Vegas casino your idea of luxury and riches would be skewed also.
Mike designed his house at that time with the only idea/comfort he knew as home,Vegas Pent House style.

even for something ruined like it was, its still so much home for money. It's something I hate about England... our home prices are stupidly expensive. I can't even get a 1 bed flat for less than £120,000 where I live... thats $193,824 according to google exchange rate.
Something that I have never understood, Is why people buy these huge houses with Huge rooms , and have just 2 or 3 pieces of furniture in there. I mean, how much wiggle room do they need? Put a couple of sofa's in there, for when your entertaining. A bar, tables lamps. some decent book shelf's with books and Objects D' Art. move the baby Grand in there for musical accompaniment during more elegant Parties.
