I love the jam part of The Lemon Song
That solo is just otherworldly!
Great choice with Moby Dick. While it's rightfully Bonzo's time to shine, that bassline always stood out for me as being groovy.
Awesome video!! I agree it's nice to see what you can do without the original track playing in the background
Whole Lotta Love involves open D and E strings in unison with the fretted notes. Look it up
Makes you wonder if any of these tracks started with the bass line, then Jimmy was like "ey mate I got something for that!"
With whole lotta love, you have to play octaves to accent the beat rather than just playing it straight
Yup. There's a vid on CZcams with JPJ explaining this. It also is necessary to use a pick to really nail it.
well done.. I like how you do it without the original track.. and the filming is simple and you can really see it very clear. Cheers.
Ramble On as the first track is spot-on. I would have started there too. 👌
Knew ramble on would be first. It’s so dope.
I love the ones in here but Id give an honorable mention to the bass lines on lemon song
Super !!!
Danke
Well done, but Immigrant Song is actually played with a pick, and is a sort of different bassline. And for Whole Lotta Love, you should check out JPJs Bass Interview to see the way he actually played it.
whole lotta I think should be played on two strings at time
Dou doum doum doum doum dou doum doum doum doum
Dazed and confused
Nice job.
THX
Dazed And Confused!!!!
This !!!
How do you pick 6 out of all of those great songs
so you pussied out of the scale part of immigrant song lol
jk it's hard
Underrated technique
Nice work. Click tracks and Bonzo mix like water and oil. It's gotta swing. That was part of Zep's secret sauce.
Alright now do The Lemon Song
I love your bass…What bass do you use?
Thanks. It's a Sandberg Marlow DK.
ZOOMAAAAA!!!!
Black Dog?
Do u have a drummer playing with u or is that just added in audio
I think it's just added
Dazed and confused!!!!
Bonham in 75 live was always following John Paul Jones. He was half if not totally wasted and you could see him watching JPJ . The opposite was true of Charlie Watts and Wyman in 75 . 😎
They should have included “The Song Remains The Same”.
Which pickup JPJ used? Both?
hey hunpis.
Yes. I'm using both Pickups.
Listen to the records and see what you need to dial in to get a similar sound. Sound depends on so many things. If you have a different bass + amp maybe a different PU brings you closer to the sound of JPJ than the one in the position JPJ used.
The lemon song, what is and what should never be, living loving maid, bring it on home,
The crunge !!

It’s quite clearly a clarinet
Drums were WAY TOO LOUD!
Here’s a hot take and personal opinion I don’t think John Paul Jones is as great as everyone makes them out to be Getty Lee is 10 times better than him. I think John Deacon is even better than John Paul Jones.
