  • WE FINALLY GOT ONE! A magnificent queen angelfish! What a beauty, from the western atlantic, this fish will catch anyone's eye that walks by. And boy do they get BIG! Some getting 2 FEET long. What an amazing fish and some beautiful colors as a juvenile and even as an adult.
These are a pricey fish that do well in a very large tank. Make sure to keep algae in their system and it will in turn provide great health for the fish's future.

@@BrockLeonard There's something that I wanted to say about angelfish: Be careful when transporting these with a net or its Gill spines will get tangled; Use a specimen container to be safe. Also be careful when handling them because of their sharp Gill spines that will cut your skin!

Hey Brock, could I try a 2” Queen angel with a 2” emperor angel in a 65? Or do you think that there is going to be fighting? Thanks!

They could be together in a 500g if added at the same time.

I have a 730g tank/sump set up (635g total water volume). I have mostly Angelfish and tangs with a couple of trigs. The emperor and Queen appropriately rule the tank together, rarely attacking each other but rather reigning together. The emperor is 8 inches while the queen is 6. They are wonderful but agree with Brock you need a 500+ tank to have a chance with having both together. I also found that actually the more angels and tangs the better they behave. The aggression is shared and not targeted. So I also have scribble, personifier(pair), blueface, and rock beauty along with a bunch of yellow and hippos tangs as well,as other tangs. Seems to work……at least so far. I do plan on adding another custom tank about the same size in the next year or so. Love my angels and tangs!!

While they are beautiful and quite hardy once acclimated, they are very aggressive as they grow larger with other angels even in bigger tanks. In my 625, she and emperor roam around together and rule the tank. Poor scribble gets harassed by both. Soon enough scrib will have to be moved to my 240g.
