I have a 2004 Nitro 188 Sport with this same engine on it. It is a beast of an engine and the most reliable I have seen yet. I love it. The best engine Mercury ever made in my opinion.
I have this motor and they are solid very fast motors they can sit up all winter take it out choke play with the trim and after a couple starts boom hood to go I have this on my 18ft stealth with tournament load and two people we hit 62
I love mine. Although I don’t think I’m running the right prop. I’m only getting high 50s alone. I’m running a 23pitch Lazer 2. What speed and size are you running here?
Macdaddy8124U Thanks. Ended up in top hole on setback and 2nd hole from top on motor. Around 2.75inches prop shaft to pad (p2p). 63mph gps @ 5600rpm and 15psi h2o psi. 23p tempest plus.

it SINGS at WOT.. the idle on these sound ugly. I love it.

speed was with GPS
You either have an xr6 or an efi they did not make an “xr6 efi” as you say you have
