    Phase 1: Apple pie contents:
    1. Bowl full of water
    2. Squeeze half a lemon in water
    3. 4 green apples - peel and cut them into small chunks
    4. Leave apples in water bowl
    5. 25g of butter cut into chunks put in pot
    6. 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in pot
    7. Stir until butter is melted
    8. Drain apples as much as you can
    9. Put apples in pot
    10. Stir well to ensure apples are evenly coated
    11. Add 35g soft light brown sugar in pot
    12. Add 30g caster sugar in pot
    13. Stir well
    14. Put the lid on and let it simmer for about 5 minutes (low heat/full??). Stir every now and then and keep an eye on it. You want the apples to be soft and cooked. Add 1 tablespoon of cornflour in separate container and add 2 tablespoon of water. Mix and turn into paste.
    15. Then pour into pot.
    16. Let it simmer for 1 to 2 minutes until sauce is thick.
    17. Once cooked let it cool before assembling the pies.
    Phase 2: Apple pie pastry
    18. Lay out puff pastry (homemade or store bought) and let it sit in room temperature for 10 minutes
    19. Cut into even pieces horizontally (the short way)
Phase 3: Bring it all together
    20. Fill the top half of the pastry with the cool mixture from phase 1. Leave enough room around the edge so you can glue it together.
    21. Flip over the other half “closing in” the contents
    22. Seal edges with finger (damp finger if pastry is dry)
    23. Press edges with fork.
    Phase 4: Cooking
    24. Cook in deep fryer for 1 to 2 minutes or until they are golden brown. You can shallow fry too in a pan.
    25. Once cooked let it cool and drain excess oil
    26. Enjoy!

Nice one! Simmer the apples and sugar on a low heat, as pan will already be hot and u don't want to boil/burn them (trust me, i burnt mine two days ago!! I didn't know burnt sugar with apple could smell so bad, like plastic or an industrial chemical plant. Mum was not happy!) .
Also, 1 teaspoon of cornflour to 1 tablespoon of water is all i needed. Stir it into a 'slurry' mix before adding it, like she does. :) Hope it helps, im off to try this again!! MUUUM WARNING!!

Go to your McDonald’s and ask if they can put a apple pie into your McFlurry. Depending on who you get, they’ll do it for you. Or they’ll make you purchase a plain McFlurry and a apple pie and you have to put it together yourself. Either way, it’s amazing. That’s the only way i eat apple pie. Try it!!!!!

Jonny Mario Hi! British-Asian Muslim here - let me clarify some info for ya - McDonald’s doesn’t officially serve any halal meat on their menu so that might be the reason for it being banned in Iraq (I guess it’s stricter there because they DO have McDonald’s in most Middle Eastern countries!) but plenty of Muslims in Britain still go to McDonald’s for their fish-o-fillet or fries/desserts etc. Also YES, Muslims do consume meat, but we are not permitted to consume pork or alcohol. Regular meat from land animals like chicken/lamb/beef etc must be slaughtered in an ethical & very clean way (all blood must be drained from the animal) & the animal must be put down swiftly (no torture/bashing on the head etc). All seafood is halal for us. (Also Halal means “permissible” in Arabic). Hope this helped ☺️

These looks so good especially since McDonalds USA changed their apple pies to a baked version that has open slits across the top. They are not nearly as good as the original deep fried ones. The closest one you can get now to the old style McDonalds apple pies at a chicken fast food place called Popeyes. But they cover the pies in cinnamon sugar after frying.

Taco Bell has a caramel apple empanada that is just like the old McDonald's apple pies. Were there really crispy and bubbly on the outside and not bake d. Just like yours Kate! They are the best. Yum.
It would be exactly like you were doing with the apple pies except for you could throw a Werther's original soft chew in it and make it a caramel apple one. OMG. Oh now I'm going to go make some.
Also an alternate instead of using puff pastry which is really pricey here in the states, you get the same bubbly texture if you use wonton wrappers

Great show, delicious looking clone pie.. I LOVE MCdonalds fried pies back in the day! Yes! America/ Los Angeles has too many McDonald’s. That’s why Americans are the fattest people in the world, too many varieties and food! Does England have lot’s of overweight and obese people from fast food?

Use air fryer which is oil free, instead of deep frying.

Why don’t you make a shipwreck dessert, hot apple pie, broken in two, then push both together open ends down into ice cream or like me into a McFlurry. I have got all my family doing this now it’s fab.
    Enjoy. John h

McDonalds apple pies here in the US are made by a company called Bama Pies. Right here in Tulsa, OKlahoma, where my family & I live.

Can you not just put them in the oven, I know that McDonald’s fry them but I would prefer to oven bake.

If it takes you an hour to peel them, you should stop trying to cook.

TheBaconWizard I’m 2 months late but he meant it because he already cut the apples into cubes which made it harder for them (I think)
