I see that other people have already commented about how the crowd was saying “we love you“ and she was replying with “I love you“. The other comments have also talked about how she was going through a really tough time and the audience knew about it and they planned this way of telling her that she was loved by them. It’s even more touching when you get that. At one point just before she was starting to sing, someone in the audience yelled “don’t sing Lara”, basically saying that they were going to sing to her … about how they loved her. The reply she said near the beginning is something along the lines of “you caught me off guard“. Anyway, this is the most amazing audience interaction I’ve ever seen. It would’ve been amazing to be there. I’m so glad they gave that gift to her … and to everyone who gets to watch it like us. And yes, I’m not ashamed to say that every time I watch it I end up with tears in my eyes

my sister was there. she told me while waiting in the room for the beginning of the show, a message passed in the crowd. " be ready to sing "Je t'aime" for Lara. you'll know the signal, pass the message to others " ... after that she waited this moment. someone have organised this with the pianist. Lara was really in need of support and the Pianist that is also Lara's artistic director accepted. look carefully. the pianist starts the piano intro, then he stops playing. Lara looks at him, thinking there is a problem ( It often happen in live that there is little technical problems ). but this was made for Lara not to start the song and give the signal for the public. you know the result

This video is from Lara’s concert “Nue” in Paris in 2002. It really shows how much Lara’s fans love and support her. Here is a short story behind that performance: Lara had some serious problems in her professional and personal life at that time (2000-2002); she even had suicidal thoughts. Her fans new about that and they wanted to express their love and support to Lara on her concert in Paris. A group of Lara’s fans approached her pianist and musical director Pierre Grimard before the concert and agreed that they will begin to sing that song "Je T'aime" before Lara. When they sang for her they changed the words «Je t'aime" (I love you) to “On t’aime” which means “We love you”. The entire audience (more than 6000 people!) sang for her. Can you imagine this? Lately Lara said that during this moment she realized the beauty of life, and that it’s really worth living it ... ❤

    • @ainrsttt
      @ainrsttt Před rokem +6

You're mistaking this event with the one that happened in Nimes, which was the event that was planned by a fan behind Lara's back to cheer her up in 2001. They rewrite the entirety of the lyrics and gave the new lyrics to anyone that entered the arena to sing for her. You can find that video online but the quality is not as good as this one.
This event, to my knowledge, was spontaneous from the crowd who probably took the previous one as inspiration to remind Lara of how much she's loved.
But either way, the story is very touching.

As my early 20's, i've was a part of the SAR-group of the Red Cross exercise to find a missing person. We went in the forest as a human chain and we found that person. A 17 yrs old High School kid, who made "the final solution" previous evening, with .22 cal rifle. I've seen victims of the trafffic accidents. Said last good bye to my deceased father as a 17 yrs. old kid. Beeing part in real life CPR situ (a neighbour). These situ's actually never got me, excluding my father. But this clip .... The expressions on Lara's face is something that touches very deeply. Especially, when one knows the story bhind of Lara's tough times, during those years. There is really no nation as romantic as the French and this is the cherry on top. To have kept her sanity, her balance...encouraged by the pure love from the audience... It leaves me to just say: the perfect response to the most generous audience - exchanging their gift of love one to the other.

I have to give a little background by this song *(Lara Fabian - Je t'aime) Lara Fabian was going trough a very difficult time personally & professionally.
Because of this, a group of her fans decided to surprise her and sing her own song to her. And the whole stadium chimed in. Can you imagine that maybe 10.000 fans singing your song to lift you up? "Je t'aime" means I love you, but her fans sing to her "on t' aime" and that means we love you. This singing for her by her fantastic fans; made her very emotional towards the end of the song.
Absolutely magical and touching to see how this crowd was lifting her spirit up by doing this. Later she said that because of this: she knew that life was worth living further!

Have watched it several times before - and, yes, it gets me every time. Just a beautiful, moving experience that the audience pre-planned for this song, singing. We love you! to Lara! And yes, we do love her.
Love to you too, Sabina! You have a beautiful soul - it comes through ❤

Aww, my beautiful Sabina, when I knew what you were just about to see the flood gates were going to open wide and your emotion would come pouring out. Many of us have seen this many times before and whenever we see a reactor getting ready to see this for the first time it is a "can't miss" video. I mean, for God's sake, the audience sounded perfect in every way. What was going on, Sabina, is that Lara had just gone through a troubling time and her fans wanted to let her know that they loved her so much.
I know you are aware of this but it is worth repeating. Dimash adores Lara (they are still good friends today) and is there any question that Dimash picked up some ideas from Lara of how to get emotion into his music? Most of these video's of Lara are 20 years old and I don't think she ever got the recognition she deserved. Her video's today are probably getting her more exposure than she's ever had.
Anyway, all of your fans would have been very disappointed if you didn't breakdown during this video. You have a warm heart and believe me when I tell you most of us teared up watching you react to this video.

Actually "on t'aime" means "you are loved by someone", but in French we say "on t'aime" to replace "nous t'aimons" which means "we love you"

Can you imagine feeling that much love coming out of the audience and flooding the stage and your soul with all of those voices singing "YOU ARE LOVED"? How many people in the world ever get to feel something like that?
I was friends with Donna Summer for many years, and she told me that she used to feel so much love from the audience that when she would go backstage and cry because it felt so alone in comparison, but as you settle into fame and focus on other things in life like your family and your faith and the music is no longer the only thing that fills you up, it got much better, not so lonely when you have a husband and during the summer your kids traveling with you. But most of us can only imagine that.

It's nice to see how people adore her and she is very moved to reciprocate in the same way..

There is a story behind this Live performance for Lara. I'm pretty sure many of you kow it but it was the first show she did after she broke up with her BF and she was kind of touch and speachless at moment to sing the first verse. The crowd started the song for her and they are signing "On t'aime" insteed of "je t'aime" french meaning of "We love you" insteed of "I love you" during the chorus !! it'S really a touching moment and Lara is really a good person, i met her once in my life in Canada and i will remember it till i die ...

I am so glad you featured this performance. It is one of my favorites of hers because of how she allows the song to unfold. I was stunned when I first saw it.
She is a master of live performance, as this shows, neither needing to be dominant in it or fading to the background while the audience sings, but collaborating with them, as they sing "On t'aime" and she sings "Je t'aime." Pure perfection, in my view, and a very, very special and moving experience for all, as you stated. Your tears are warranted!! Merci beaucoup! 🙏☺
