- In this Santo Domingo airport arrival we fly in from Martinique on Sky High airways. This is the largest airport in Dominican Republic called Las Américas International airport. We arrived at 10PM into Santo Domingo and the drive to the hotel took about 40 minutes.

3:33 yes currency exchange is terrible in SDQ as in most airports. However, most services at the airport do take US dollars or Euros on a more favorable rate. I would recommend taking a taxi to your hotel and exchanging your money at any of the local banks. Also, most services at the Airport or elsewhere in the country can be bought with most international Visa or Mastercards.

I just mapped the airport and that is pretty far.
Never exchange money at SDQ and never take a taxi cab. If you want to exchange money in Santo Domingo, you’ll be better off going to BanReservas. If you want transportation in Santo Domingo, you’ll be better off requesting it from Uber (price is approximately USD $20-25).
