The thing I love about this guy's work philosophy as that he's super selfless about it.
He knows that the process is about highlighting, and bringing the best out of the artists he's working with. The beat night sound awesome, but if it's too loud and crowded on it's own, it's not going to be useful to whoever's on it, since they're going to be a much smaller part of it.

He's saying that he used a bpm that was more commonly used 15-20 years ago, when in reality that's the same narrow range 9/10 modern beats already were in at the time. He was just saying words and making a false equivalent. He meant to say that he got the groove from timbaland, not the bpm.
