thanks alot Dr. the best video and explanation about RC design in youtube . . thanks and plz we wait for more video about Raft F, Shear Wall and other element
Thanks Engr, i can wait to see many more vedios Especially design of Mat footing, Shear wall design, Retaining wall, Hollowpot slab and most and most important Curved Beams.
thank you for your videos Dr, they have enlightened me so much. i've been waiting for more of your videos, i hope everything is well on your end, thank you.
Thanks alot Dr, really we appreciate the great effort and patience to serve the student and engineer in our region with very valuable information about design, we wait with passion to introduce the clear tutorial about how to design flat Slab if its possible, my sencere gratitude and all the best on your business and career
Dr. S. El-Gamal, is the raft foundation is the same procedure as pad footing? Find the worst-case column and calculate as pad footing to find depth # of rebars etc? Thank you.
Good morning Dr Sherif. I really miss your videos, I can not wait to see more videos. What can I do to support your work? I would love you to be my mentor! 😊😊😊
Respected sir, your video very much help full for me sir I have a request you to that kindly share video on under ground water tank & retaining wall design
Dear Dr. Sharif, I request to record design of staircase, shear wall design, critical columns design especially columns with under parking. also I request Dr. complete project with have series tutorials. thanks
Hello, Thank you for the help. When calculating moment 17.41 should it not be 1/3 * F2 rather than 2/3 since we are measuring from the left hand edge of the footing. Thanks
In solving the reinforcement for the short direction or about the X-axis (time 7:32), there is no moment, thus the reaction pressure of the soil is uniform (=the average of p1 and p2). What shall we use if let's say there is a moment about the X-axis in solving for the reinforcement? Would you please create a video with this load situation? Thanks in advance for the reply.
Hello Sir, let's say am working on a Real-Time project I have details of load N but may I know how to know Mx or My? from where can I obtain these values?
No negative moment. It is always positive moment and only bottom reinforcement. You will need to steel in case of combined footings when you have negative and positive moments.
thank very much sir ....but am little bit confuse around reinforcement in long direction when you calculate stress at face of column p(face)=unit must be KN/M2 but by your calculation it will be KN/M.how that possible ....even though we cant sum up different units
You have be consistency in your calculations. The Dr calculated all loads as uniformly distrubuted load(kn/m). In your case you can calculate as Area(per meter square).
Eccentric loading can be due to concentric axial load + moment which is some how similar to the case of eccentric columns when a column is not exactly at the center of the footing.

So educative thank you Dr. Sheriff for this wonderful lecture
Thanks a lot Dr.Sherif. I am eagerly waiting for the column, beam, staircase and retaining wall design.
Thank you very much Dr Sherif!
I deeply appreciate your sacrifice that you are making to educate us, your videos are the best
Thanks for the insightful tutorial. Can you please do one on the checks for sliding and overturning?
Great explanations throughout. Thank you!
Very understandable and clear concept. Keep it up sir. Always your videos are vaulable to us.
Thanks a lot

Thank you for the tutorial! It is so helpful!
Thanks, Great video

Jah bless🙏🏾
Thank you very much sir
excelent, , Dr., ¿Do you have any information about N and Biaxial M we can consult?
Dr. Sherif, thanks for good work; can you upload design of shear wall according to BS.
Good morning Dr Sherif.
I really miss your videos, I can not wait to see more videos.

HEY bro, you would repeat the process exactly as it is in this case. just redo the steps for the other direction.
Hello Sir, let's say am working on a Real-Time project I have details of load N but may I know how to know Mx or My? from where can I obtain these values?
dr when do you explain staircase lessons in the youtube?
I come from somalia🇸🇴
Hello
But why no top reinforcement?
Doesn't we have a negative moment because of eccentricity
yes, that is what i am looking for ...
No negative moment. It is always positive moment and only bottom reinforcement. You will need to steel in case of combined footings when you have negative and positive moments.
Really nice lecture..thanks a lot
I have question ,in designing of cantilever slabs when should I provide a cantilever beam under these slabs?!
If the span of the cantilever is too big, you can use a cantilever beam in this case.
دكتور ماذا لو عزم في الإتجاهين؟في هذه الحالة كيف نحلها؟
I think you forgot to multiply L when calculating F2 sir!
Dr. El-Gamal, why footing rebars are provided with 90-degree bend? Is it required by the code?
If the anchorage length is not enough, we need to bend.
@@MrElgamal77 Thanks for the reply.
Is anchorage length = development length?
Would you please give us a video demonstrating this? Thanks in advance.
hi, how can I get the moment of the stump?
thank very much sir ....but am little bit confuse around reinforcement in long direction when you calculate stress at face of column p(face)=unit must be KN/M2 but by your calculation it will be KN/M.how that possible ....even though we cant sum up different units

Sir , can we get the pdfs of what you teaching........
Thanks for your interest. Sorry, I cannot share the pdf.
F2 is not correct. Moment is not correct. You said it but you didn't write it down. F2= 32.531 KN Double checks please.
PLZ , Can i get this file ?
footing biaxil
where ur eccentric column design
Eccentric loading can be due to concentric axial load + moment which is some how similar to the case of eccentric columns when a column is not exactly at the center of the footing.
