    The size of the footing is 2.56 x 2.56m and qu is 343.32 kN/m2.
    Kindly ignore the calculation error.

    Excellent work as always. Could you write all the formulas that you are using for the calcs. You need min reinforcement at the top in both directions as well. Could please do one combined footings with eccentric loadings. Thank you

      Minimum reinforcement may not be necessary especially if the ultimate moment is greater than the design moment. Otherwise, it is necessary.

    Very Well explained Madam 👏 However I have a question on the Bending moment, A column passes down the axial load on to the foundation from which we calculate the Bending moment on the foundation which in your example it comes to 585 KNm, If the column had an axial load together with a Bending Moment say 'M' do we add this bending moment to 585 KNm and then design the Pad foundation with 585 KNm + 'M' to get the total bending moment on the footing? Or should we ignore the M?

    Mam u have calculated Ast for whole section 2650 x 667 mm, But u calculated bar spacing for 1000 mm strip. So at 9:42, There should have 2650mm instead of 1000mm. Actual spacing will be 297 mm for 20 mm dia bar.

    When you are calculate the size of flooting Area = 6.6 m^2 , side = squre root 6.6 = 2.56 by you can take 2.6 Bymistake you take 2.65 instead of 2.56

    How the net soil pressure can be greater than SBC?

    • @CivilEngineeringMastery
      @CivilEngineeringMastery  Před 3 lety

      Net soil pressure is calculated at ultimate load.
      Factor of safety - 1.5

    • @jawaharbharani1866
      @jawaharbharani1866 Před 3 lety

      Can the soil resist more pressure than SBC,how?pls explain.

    • @CivilEngineeringMastery
      @CivilEngineeringMastery  Před 3 lety

      No need to compare Net soil pressure at ultimate load with SBC.
      Actual soil pressure should not exceed SBC.
      Actual soil pressure q = (load/area)+Self weight of footing + Self weight of soil.

    Double check the calculations tho
    Just two major errors within a few seconds
    Footing sides = SQRT(6.6) is NOT 2.65
    qu is not 320.4
    I think she fell on the calculator or something....
