Bobcat skid loader plowing snow

  • Join us as we clear several inches snow from parking lots and sidewalks. This was not a blizzard or the snowstorm of the century but at least it was something! Bobcat skid steers are very efficient at plowing snow. I would much rather use a skid loader than a plow truck unless you are plowing roads or large open areas. Wisconsin just didn't pull through this winter and delivered very few storms. Spring is on the way now and concrete season is right around the corner.

My father and I plow with a 2001 2 door wrangler, with a full size 6 ft plow. People mock it, but it gives you the maneuverability that a truck won't. I can only imagine how much easier a skid loader is in tight spaces.

My county here in Ohio uses beet juice for an additive in their salt and it actually does work pretty decent. I would imagine since it's plant derived, it's probably environmentally friendly. I have seen a few people bashing both Darryl's and I personally think it's very disrespectful. I can't stand people that act like they are perfect and have never made a mistake in life. Nobody is perfect including me, I'm far from it. All I can do is try to be a better person each day and learn to forgive people when they fall short. From what I understand about the treated salt is that it works at a lower temp than regular salt. My dad works for MN/DOT and does freeway plowing in the winter. They use the treated salt when the temps are below 6 degrees. It's super pricy but normal salt won't work if it's too cold.

Hey Ryan I actually have a good question. When plowing snow how do you know where obstacles are? Do you ever mark them with flags or anything? Florida boy asking.

a person from Michigan who plows snow during the winter. for perimeter marking we use orange poles. but after a while of doing it you get used to where things are.

I'm sure that everyone likes the backup beeper at 5 in the morning.

Literally love watching your videos! Question do people yell at you for snow plowing when the machine is backing up with the loud beeper? Like have you got a noise complaint?

No noise complaints. Around here people expect snow removal noise any time of night.
