    Realismus notes on grass is confusing. But from their notes and my observations:
    - Grass (wet) - needs to be tedded to make semi-wet grass, or it will rot after the 2nd midnight. However you can feed it to your animals before it rots away. Once in a food trough it gets eaten, I have no evidence of rotting (my sheep are ravenous!!). Grass dropped in a silage bunker immediately converts to Chaff, which doesn't rot. Grass which is baled, works the same as loose, and will rot completely after 2 days. Wrapped grass bales will convert to silage in 1 season period (early, mid, late), and until the conversion is complete could be used as grass food!! Grass has NO VALUE as loose or baled, so use it, convert it or lose it. Grass in a silo/hayloft is safe, but anywhere else it will eventually rot. Rain does not appear to affect rot rate.
    - Grass (semi-wet) - given time will convert to hay (based upon windspeed, solar radiation, and temp), if it gets rained upon it can become wet grass (I think this depends upon how much rain - it may delay/reverse the drying timer), if it is baled then it is treated like wet grass bales. Given time semi-wet grass will either turn into hay or rot. You can wrap it on drop it in a silage bunker, but be careful semi-dry grass can become hay, even in a loading wagon. And it still has no value.
    - Hay - can be left loose or baled, rain will cause it to decay in about 15min intervals (it does not revert to semi-wet grass, though notes indicate otherwise, but are contradictory). Hay stored under shelter (in a barn) is safe from rain, if the shelter is seasons compatible. Hay cannot be turned into silage, so you cannot wrap it or unload it into a silage bunker. Hay bales can be sold, loose hay has no value.
    - Straw - can be left loose or baled, rain will cause it to decay in about 15min intervals. Straw stored under shelter (in a barn) is safe from rain, if the shelter is seasons compatible. Straw bales can be sold, loose straw has no value.
    Quirks & hints:
    - Bales on a bale collection wagon/stacker are images, seasons cannot see them, so they will be unaffected by weather. Similarly a UAL (autoload) bale trailer in a loaded state is safe.
    - Bales in a bale storage mod, or loose material in a silo/hayloft are also invisible to seasons.
    - Loading wagons are open to the elements - hay/straw will rot.
    - Wagons with a cover can keep hay/straw safe.
    - When mixing TMR in the rain (outside), if you start with either straw or hay you may experience rotting before you make forage/TMR. If you start with silage, there is never a point where you have only a rottable resource in the mixer.
    - If you must take bales or loose material outside in a rainstorm, wait until 1min after the hour or 1/2 hour, and make sure the stuff is either in a TMR mixer (as forage/TMR), in a food trough, or back in shelter before the full hour or half hour.
    - Keep your bale shredder under cover, when not in use.

      As always, great knowledge, thank you. I could have sworn I was able to sell grass bales haha but maybe it was at a bga specific to a specific map haha, thank you again :)

      I know its WAY past time for FS 19 🤣, BUT a 30 Foot Versatile Trailer + Tension Strap compatible tools + PORTABLE SHELVES (7.0m 1 layer) = Tool Trailer (for loaders or other small implements). Pain in the butt to set up the first time but once you do oooohhh man. Big bag handeler helpded a lot with placement but it CANNOT be used to pull things off (tension straps grab the trailer). It looks ugly with all the straps on but I LOVE IT. I have the 3 basic bale tools, shovel, log fork, pallet fork, big bag lifter as well 2 1600kg weights and ive only taken up about half my space

    Just a suggestion but I know that on your more role play side you like to play as a cop. You could try and play GTA and use the mod LSPDFR. I know that I would watch it and probably most fans since it is “simulation” based. Keep up everything!

  • @Hedgehobbit
    @Hedgehobbit Před 3 lety +3

    While it looks like tedding semi-dry grass does nothing, I think it actually resets the semi-dry grass back to it's default state. I tedded some semi-dry grass once in order to try and speed up it's drying but found that the grass I tedded took way longer to turn to hay than the semi-dry grass that I left alone.
    Windrowing, OTOH, doesn't affect the grass' drying time as windrowed grass will dry just as fast as non-windrowed grass.
    At least that's been my experience. I'll probably need to do some sort of scientific test.

    • @neilharbott8394
      @neilharbott8394 Před 3 lety +1

      I think you're right - tedding (may) reset the drying timer back to zero. I have seen similar - though usually I will silage wet grass and only try to hay semi-dry, saves buying a tedder :)

    • @Llandari
      @Llandari Před 3 lety +1

      Can confirm this. Before I knew how drying worked in Seasons, I started tedding a field with semi-dry grass, only to have the part I didn't ted turn into hay halfway through, while the part I did ted still was semi-dry.

    Weeds - don't seem to grow on MapGrass. Weeds do grow on fields - so a plowed area planted as grass will get weeds - usually triggered after the first cut.

  • @RedGallardo
    @RedGallardo Před rokem +1

    Did you ever test crop loss during harvesting? Is it possible to move the harvester the way you'd collect less per field (despite the field marked harvested with no gaps)? Is it possible to lose anything when collecting the crops with the trailer? The animation often shows grain dropping when you move away from the outlet. Or the selling zone is too narrow for the trailer. Is the transfer mathematically perfect or is physics involved somehow?

    @Farmer Cop quick question, does rain effect loss grass and hay if they're in a trailer or loading wagon the a cover like Krone ZX 560 GD

    • @FarmerCop
      @FarmerCop  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes and no. It will start to rot if the trailer is uncovered or outside, if it is either covered by a trailer cover or a seasons ready building it is safe

    Hey I was wondering if they have a mod on Xbox that let's you change the crop growth rate because I don't have that option in my menus like you do. I'm also completely missing my animal overview menu

    • @FarmerCop
      @FarmerCop  Před 3 lety +1

      In seasons the animal menu moves to the seasons menu and there is no crop growth speed adjustment in seasons, in regular gameplay you can adjust the crop growth speed in the settings

      Les, that is odd, make sure it is pointed at something it can read as it will just beep and do nothing otherwise, is it working pointed into a field? May be an issue with the specific map running seasons as well

    Seasons sounds obnoxious and tedious. Straw crops are gamified 'balanced' around being able to sell the straw, loose or otherwise. You lose something like 30% of a straw-crop's value by skipping the straw.
