THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. My son recently got a smasher after saving up. After a day of play, I thought we had burned out a transmission servo, because the car wouldn't leave neutral. Turns out, he was playing with the lights (which is the bind button on the lame v2 controller), and now we know that lights on+lights off=ultimate ch 4 trim mode. 😂 I don't know if I would have figured it out without this!
I’m building a custom 6x6 from 2 fcx24s and wanted to ditch the 2 speed so I came up with a pretty clever way to lock the 2 speed and it’s easily reversible, and thanks for the rear steer. This 6x6 is gonna rip!!
Great tip! This will be incredibly useful when I put in my new Treal metal trans gears and FMS metal shift fork. I might need to trim the trans channel servo from what I’ve heard.
Hmmm... Now, I guess the question is, will FMS start shipping trucks with the three position channel three again... I plan to buy another FCX to build out at some point. Keeping my first one basically stock. Just waiting on more aftermarket goodies to come out specific to these trucks before picking up another. So, here's hoping that FMS sees the error of their ways and brings back the three position channel three on future production trucks.
@@TheShopMiniRC That’s odd, when I first watched this video, there was no 3 dot icon to allow saving to a playlist…now it’s there. Must have been a glitch on my ipad…it does that sometimes. Oh well….saved now!
Appreciate you sharing this that’s awesome to know. Mine does have center. Still waiting on my Treal brass outer portal covers , Got a set of mofo RC super deep dish aluminum bead lock rims Just waiting on some extra long wheel nuts that I found for I could tighten down, catch on the next one
This was awesome info, thank you. My FMS is stuck in F/B/R and i dont know how to get it out of it. It came from the factory like that or when I was trying to get the lights to work I did something either way i dont have F/R anymore and would love to be able to get that back. I have a V3 radio system not a V2.
Just installed a new motor and trans on new gen LC80. My issue is my crawl gear. High gear works great , I messed with the end points and I can get it into low gear , if I switch back and forth I loose low gear again. I have no idea what’s going on now
How can i do this on the v2 remote im having the issue where it will fully engage one gear but wont fully engage the other i tried adjusting the shift link and it just causes it to be one or the other gear
I would check your manual to see if there is information on trimming or setting the end points of channel 3. There are just too many versions of this remote.
What am I missing ... the rear servo never was centered, which would mean that the car never goes straight. Adjusting the horn will not help for finetuning eighter - is there a solution?
Swap out the crappy plastic wheel on the transmitter for one with foam. Most people who are into RC stuff have a few old or unused transmitters laying around. I got mine off of a Traxxas but I think v1 and v2 scx24 wheels work. Oddly enough other FMS wheels will not work.
I have a smasher V2, Im having an issue of the truck working intermittently, if i keep using controls on the truck every 5 or 6 seconds it will work for about 2 seconds then stop again for another 5 or 6 seconds. Totally random. Cant figure it out. I unplugged the servo and it worked the first time i tested but then went back to intermittently working. Also tryed unplugging the shift servo and doesnt work.
very odd.. i would be 100% sure your batteries in the truck AND remote are good... i know it seems obvious, but we see people with bad batteries having weird issues all the time.
@@TheShopMiniRC i finally got brand new batteries in the controller and fresh battery in the truck and still same problem. I think the receiver was failing. Ended up returning it and ordering a new one.
@@theblishknovk hmm. Yeah, that’s probably your best bet. Sorry for your issues. We have a TON of these trucks and have not had an issue like that. Must be a fluke.
Remote need new batteries? The bind process is simple. With both truck and remote off, hold the bind button and turn on the remote. Then release the bind button. Should be flashing. Then turn in the truck. Should be bound. If nothing is responding, just turn the remote off and then on again.

Yeah. Trimming will be likely.

I certainly hope so.
Came back to this AGAIN because my Rattled Cage came with low gear only. Thanks @alsoRan!
Interesting.
Awesome! Solved one of my problems with not shifting to neutral thanks. Keep up the awesome videos.
Glad it helped!
Also, I wish your videos enabled saving. Would make it handy to refer back to in my RC folder.
You can save the video to a playlist. ;)

Hopefully get mine soon from bangood, looks like good wee car cheers
You are gonna love it!
Thanks for doing the indepth comtent! Cheers

Thanks my dude fixed my tranny end point issues!
Nice!!! Glad the video helped. I hope we earned your sub!
Thanks also-ran. And thanks for putting the video together, some amazing things can be done ✔️ 🙌 😊
Always!
Pretty cool 😎 this is definitely worth knowing thanks for sharing also-ran
Thanks for watching!!
Great info, hope all this info and parts work on the smasher.
The axles and such are all the same. The only issues might be the electronics.
Thank you 😊

try this: czcams.com/video/5W33qLYu-Jc/video.html
Double click the REV button (Should blink), and then click the bind button.
