Exactly. To me, a playthrough resisting the urge sounds so much more fun than embracing it. If you're embracing it then you're just a murder hobo. You could do that with any character.
Kicking a squirrel into a rock is certainly sociopathic.
What’s wrong with playing the dark urge as a evil campaign :(
1:07:57 You should be 100% sure that Shillelagh is better, because your spellcasting ability (as Druid that is Wisdom) gives you a +3 modifier, while without it you just use a +0 from your strength. besides, turning the quarterstaff magical means it ignores the resistance of the devil. (you also don't have to cast it every single turn, it lasts 10 turns)

1) We did learn how to throw in a couple episodes from now.
2) Why Druid? I want to use all the shapeshifting for fights/talking to animals/etc.

@@ToGoodLookings yup! But I wanted to keep that part the way it is. It kinda plays well into him not knowing his background and instead relying on a nickname describing his urges.
Also i assume you figured it out later, but i believe you dont have to use shelleliegh every turn, it should last 10turns or so.

But one quick question, when you change the colours of the standard dragonborn white/red.
I know when the urge manifests it's as a red,, smoke, shimmer, effect.. does that change with your chosen colour?
Your staff is pronounced (shil-ay-lee), in real life a knotted wooden staff or club is called a shillelagh in Irish folklore! Also I’m very excited for this series, the game looks incredible

Watching an origin character play out as a player is very cool, good god they put so much work into this if each origin is like this.

Can't believe it's 2 years since the early access. Have to say listening to Lovejoy has gotten a lot more pleasant over the years and so listening to a co-op today is a more balanced experience. Have fun you two!

Christopher I remember when you first were asking questions on how to take off on the platforms- look at you now. You’re a great entertainer and your tactical games and theory is really fun to watch. Good spell choices all around for your starting point! Shillelagh (She-lay-lee) is a great cantrip, and thorn whip has a lot of good utility in and out of combat.
Yep. I've used Thorn Whip to just yoink enemies into hazards or just outright yank them into instant death pits more than once. Like if you fight Ragzlin, you can use Thorn Whip to yank enemies down from the rafters if any of them climb up there for a hefty amount of fall damage.

I made a Draconic Bloodline Dragonborn Sorcerer, and I love how the mixed-color scales look. I've done both a Black & Silver combo & a Silver & Gold combo thus far. I've also done a "dip" into Warlock for Eldritch Blast as well as Agonizing Blast & Repelling Blast. Works very well, and it's so satisfying to just snipe enemies with Eldritch Blast and send them flying right off of a ledge. :)

my first character was a warlock, i didn't even realize there was anything to opening Shadowheart's container other than understanding the magic. Figured it was pass a couple arcana checks or you'll find her on the beach later.

Excited to finally to check this game out. I couldn't handle Astarion's incredibly dark story at first. Glad it's on this channel, too! I know this is going to be good.
Tactics for taking down the tough guy: use the “help” action to assist the heavy hitters, ex, Druid helping the Barbarian, and Cleric helping the Mind Flayer to get more consistent damage output. If the mind flayer didn’t miss a couple of solid shots, they’d be there
Cleric can use command to have him drop his sword, definitely helps!

Spelljammer, baby! I got the two boxed sets in the 90s when I was very young, and they were stolen/lost. Man I loved reading those books and I miss that setting.

I'm glad you guys both picked origin characters instead of custom. I started with a custom character and restarted as Karlach because the different dialogue options with companions and interesting backstory the origin characters come with are too good to pass up.
Shillelagh last for 10 turns when cast. You don't need to click it every turn
Since the pandemic started I escaped from the reality by diving into DND podcasts. Little did I know, that I was my preparation for watching Odd and Luckless play Baldur's Gate in 2023! Really excited to watch this playthrough together with the both of you in co-op! Love the banter between you two, which is always really fun. Have a blast playing the game, and I'll be here for the ride as well 😁
I've avoided watching anything of BG3 as I've been playing it myself (I had to wait for the PS5 release so it was an extra month of struggle!) But now I've played almost 100 hours and I'm finally entering Act 2, so I am ready to start watching some of my favourite content creators playing this game as well.
I personally rolled a Dragonborn Beastmaster Ranger (Balanced) but I'm really tempted, now I've finished Act 1, to roll another Dragonborn Moon Druid on Tactician and see how that goes too.

The visuals so far seem quite improved compared to Early Access so that's great to see.
If you don't already know, you can have Shadowheart to use "Command Drop Weapon" and the boss of this level will drop his flaming sword, allowing you to pick it up and then use it against him.
There's actually merit to playing the origin characters, cool to see that there's a ton of voiced unique dialogue.
This is going to be epic!
