Jhope is the bridge between the age group, the older members and the younger members.
He is also the dance leader. Not necessarily the lead dancer but he is in charged of the dance performance overall.

The hierarchy goes: main>lead>sub. The dance leader is j-hope's additional position because he isn't only an amazing dancer, but also has a leadership quality to his character, and he's very professional, patient and kind.

you know BTS, you might have guessed Yoongi as being the scariest, but much to ARMY'S suprise, Suga came 3rd, and our Mochi Sexy, Jimin, came first on that list. Jimin, hands down, is the scariest member of BTS.
Namjoon has said Hobi is the most professional, that's why he takes the lead when performing.
11:30 "big picture mode" - yessir. j-hope sees the whole stage and seems to be aware of everything in a performance: the size of the stage, where everyone should be, someone making a mistake, unforeseen hazards, etc. It's a lot of responsibility that he said he took on since debut as he realized he was the most experienced and didn't have to think as much about his moves.
I don't want to rant, but fans often comment about Hobi having this scary dance teacher mode, and while I think the other members might be afraid of making a mistake in front of him, it's not because he's Gordon Ramsay. Notice how he always approaches them really kindly but firmly when he's teaching/correcting them - this is just someone you never want to disappoint, because he'll know.
I wouldnt say he is scary he is just very passionate and professional about his work, and he never treats people bad he does the possible to help them out

As AJJ said, There has to be someone to take the lead, Each of them has their moments and their situations to lead but they all know when to let Jhope take the ‘reins’ over dancing while still making their own additions, they all have said if Joon wasn’t the leader Hobi would be perfect, Hes more than just ‘funny’ , Imagine if all of them would be bickering wanting to do it their way.. it would just be fighting and they wouldn’t be as close as their bond is , Very well put Adam 👏🏽

i believe when their choreographer retires, hobi should be the next choreographer for BigHit, if he wants to of course. he's so amazing with coming up with dances, he's an amazing mentor, he's serious but not too harsh, and he's a perfectionist, so i think he would be amazing at being the next BigHit choreographer💜

Honestly jhopes skills are unmatched. You are very right about seeing thing from a bird's-eye point of view. The man basically is in charge of their whole performance. He is definitely a leader in bts. As rm says.. He co-leads bts and he is their most professional member. He is amazing. And im glad he's brothers respect him and his leadership. We owe him alot of gratitude for his work and dedication not just as a rapper but as the main dancer and dance lead of bts.

With the Behind the Scenes of CNS with Becky G, even she comments on how committed he is to perfecting his craft. He really is fun and our sunshine but he's definitely a professional that takes his job with hella responsibility. Also, AJJ your expressions keep killing me every time! LOL
RM is the Team Leader where as Hobi is the Performance Leader so the 94’s together lead BTS. RM has said before that Hobi shares half the leadership responsibilities with him.
Joon and Hobi are a really great team. Hobi does so well leading the performances, and Joon does such a great job leading the team. Even RM has mentioned how appreciative he is that Hobi fills in for whatever Joon might be lacking in. I like that as the leader, he doesn’t have an ego about his role, and praises how Hobi helps him. They’re both such great guys.

My two fears if I ever met BTS are 1) Hobi judging my dancing, and 2) not passing Taehyung's vibe check. You just can't come back from either of those, it's over
It's extremely admirable how all the members look upto J-HOPE, respect him, thrive under his praises, listen to his instructions without any hesitation and allow him to lead them and the way hobi always does his best for the group and is constantly trying to make the best things even better for the entirety of the group. Their dynamic is so admirable!

But seriously, I appreciate how dedicated and analytical he is with choreography and staging. He is so talented and BTS' Dance Leader for a reason.
On a side note: I'd love to be a fly on the wall during a dance practice where they are first learning the choreography (especially back in the day) because there's probably some cussing involved and they usually are so careful on camara...
The “pah pah” is just how some dancers count/keep the pace of the beat. Just like some dancers go “1, 2, 3, 4” or “5, 6, 7, 8”

Love love my bias wrecker!! Hobi 💜💜 If I remember correctly in a previous episode y’all watched Hobi practicing with Blaze. Blaze made y’all pause the video to praise Hobi for being a student of dance. He said that back in the day dancers would say “Pah” with their movies. Blaze was so excited about that fact. Please let me know if I am completely wrong 🤣🤣
One of the things about these behind the scenes videos is it shows how they change their performances to make them unique. A lot of these are clips before special performances. So the choreo they've been doing for months and have muscle memory for are now different. Sometimes its a small change like who's front and center at the end. Other times its a whole new dance break added. And every time its on a stage they don't regularly perform on. So now the moves, timing and formations change. And they trust and respect Hobi to help them get these last minute once in a lifetime changes correct.
Woah nice insight! It explains the urgency shown in the videos. I mean I get that it's only a few hours/minutes away from their performance, but thanks for clarifying that j-hope takes note of the incremental and important tweaks that make each stage special, and goes over those with the team before each stage!

4:33 you never catch jin slipping
The clip towards the end where Hobi, Jin and Jimin are in white is one of my faves because its hilarious. Jin was clearly trying to remember the choreo and get help without Hobi finding out, lol. Then got caught and Jimin is never any help, he just laughs. But on a serious note, I think Jin doubts his memory more than he needs to, or he did anyway. Never seen this man miss a step. There's several videos with him low key pulling Jimin aside to reassure himself. Its also interesting seeing which of the dance line each of the other gravitates to for a little extra help.

This i why hobi removable. When hobi left bts, Namjoon called him to come back. Namjoon convinced the company without hobi we can't make it. Namjoon argued with the company. Because of it hobi came back. Hobi believed in what namjoon said. And miracles happened. I love the friendship of namjoon hobi. Like brothers they support each other
