I know I'm probably late to this, but I figured this out a little while ago. In Stan's mindscape, there's a swing set, but one of the swings is broken. Then, later in the series, you see Stan and Ford on a swing set during the credits. God, the feels I felt when I realized that.
Watching this over again, it’s honestly staggering just what Stanley did to bring his brother back. He literally figured out INTERDIMENTIONAL SCIENCE to bring Stanford back. Stanley. “The nobody”. “The dumb one.” His love for his brother was astounding. This show just….. everything.
not only that, he figured out how to keep enough money flowing in to keep the house to himself. He had never done this successfully before, and was wanted in most states at this point. He also learned how to deal with all of the monsters in the town without going insane, and still had time for this
Man this was _3_ years ago. I remember when gravity falls was just a show with random demon and Mable and Dipper just trying not to die. Than we Learn the past, the truth, it felt like it was done. After 2 weeks I expected to see another episode after weirdmagedon. I couldn’t stop crying. I miss gravity falls and all the adventures
not only did he risk everything for his family but he knowingly and willingly gave it all up for them. Stan pretty much died that day and I don't think he regretted it, bc he did it for them
Look at 3:04 LOOK AT IT. Stan is getting dressed up as his brother, knowing what he is doing. He is going into this and he is not coming out the other side. At least, not in a way that matters. But Ford is more scared than Stan is. This picture perfectly embodies this video, how their relationship culminated in the end. Ford is always the one who knows what to do, but Stan came up with this, STAN decided to sacrifice everything for his family, for the world. Cause it would better to die than love but put your family through the pain of not remembering them. And yet Stan is ready to do this. He’s fixing his hair, he’s making sure that he is the exact copy of his brother, down the the last strand of hair. Stan is determined. He knows what he is getting into and yet he shows no fear. This is the first thing he feels that he is ever doing that is worth it in his life, and he is NOT going to mess it up. This is for his family, for the world, for Dipper and Mabel (And his brother too). Stan knows that he will never be the same after this, he will never again be Stan, that this is the equivalent to a DEATH for him, and he is ready. He is determined. He is going to win. And then there’s Ford. Ford is reluctant, you can see that in his face. He knows just as well as Stan what is going to be the result of this if they succeed, but unlike his brother, he is NOT pure determination and set in this plan. Ford doesn’t want to do this. Ford is SCARED... He finally sees his brother as the amazing, brave, selfless person that Stan is underneath it all, and his first glimpse of this is likely gonna be his last. Ford was the one who built the portal, Stan just remade it to BRING HIS BROTHER BACK!!! And yet Ford never said thank you (at least not for real). Stan sacrificed his entire lifetime to save his brother, and is now going in to knowingly destroy his own mind, and Ford never even said thank you. Ford is scared. He is scared that he is losing his brother, who he never treated properly when they were adults, ever, and now he won’t get the chance to. At least not with the REAL Stan. Ford is losing his brother, and he is scared. Ford had no plan that worked to stop Bill, but it was, really, his fault in the end, and now his brother is stepping in and that’s it. That’s the end of Stanley Pines, for good. Ford is scared. Stan is Determined, though. He is not going to be saved. Stan has never, in his own eyes, done anything worthwhile, and this is it. The end of his life is the pinnacle of his life. But ‘worth’ doesn’t matter to Stan. Neither does the cruel, dark world, that turned him away and cast him aside, beat him left and right, just because it could. All that matters to Stan is his family. first time I heard a love song from the girl's perspective and understood, like ACTUALLY understood. That's not me talking smack about lady singers either. Stan was thinking about Ford being beheaded and dying.
This song became a GF song for me hard core since I first saw it. The art, the emotion, it's nostalgia now. Thank you and whoever else worked for this so much for showing such passion in this vid.
I just finished watching Gravity Falls last week over my Spring Break. While it may not be the greatest animated TV show I've ever seen (Avatar: The Last Airbender owns that honor in my opinion), it's definitely the best show made by Disney and the most intelligently crafted show I've ever watched. This video definitely exemplified the pure heartbreak and sorrow underlying in the show's major scenes. The use of tears consistently sent chills through my body. Gosh, what a tragically magnificent showcase of lyrics and images. Truly, a masterpiece. P.S. the Stan twins are a LOT more compelling compared to Dipper and Mabel.

first time I heard a love song from the girl's perspective and understood, like ACTUALLY understood. That's not me talking smack about lady singers either. I mean the pop genre knows what it wants, you dig? But this feels... so authentic, and organic. And the vid itself is divine. Makes the song and story work so well together without any of the usual jarringness I encounter in this sort of thing.

Little thought I wanted to bring up:
You never see the front of bill or bills “face” through out the entire video ...except for the end were he is defeated
It paints bill in a way more ominous and terrifying light
You don’t really see bill at all in this video but the first time we do see him, it’s just his hand at 3:06 with bill making the deal with who he and everybody else thinks is ford
Then the second time you see him, he has made the deal with “ford” and preparing to go into his mind 3:15
It makes bill seem way more scary because when you look at stans face you can see the terror on his face
The last time bill is seen 3:40 it’s not as scary as everyone made him out to be when you see what he really is
He’s just a manipulative lier that’s all bill is when boil him down, he can only hurt you if you let him

So I check the fan wiki and, hey, whaddaya know, " It was made to resemble Stan Pines, who was very fond of it, due to the loss of his twin brother.[1]" direct quote. Welp. There goes my heart. Just finished watching Gravity Falls for the first time and then I get this in my recommended. Masterpiece.
I just finished watching Gravity Falls last week over my Spring Break. While it may not be the greatest animated TV show I've ever seen (Avatar: The Last Airbender owns that honor in my opinion), it's definitely the best show made by Disney and the most intelligently crafted show I've ever watched.
This video definitely exemplified the pure heartbreak and sorrow underlying in the show's major scenes. The use of tears consistently sent chills through my body. Gosh, what a tragically magnificent showcase of lyrics and images. Truly, a masterpiece.
P.S. the Stan twins are a LOT more compelling compared to Dipper and Mabel.
