      U.S. could lose 10-0 and Berhalter will probably keep his job. The U.S. soccer federation is a joke. There were multiple coaches available that should have replaced Berhalter before he was rehired last year. Now they’ll use his contract and financial concerns as an excuse to keep him.

      @juliegahret5236 Před 2 dny +1

      That’s not going to help at all. The US Soccer Federation is incompetent and an old boys network. That means their going to hire another low level, incompetent coach, who their “comfortable” with. There are literally hundreds of international coaches and assistant coaches around the world who would instantly have a level of credibility, respect, and competence that is comparable to an eighth grade student (Berhalter) Vs. a Rhodes Scholar (virtually ANY international coach, assistant or otherwise.) As Long as US Soccer apologists like Kasey Keller are listened to, nothing is going to change.

    It has absolutely nothing to do with budgetary constraints or the coach or the ref or the field or the weather. It has everything to do with culture. Soccer is a pastime in the US. In Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil - it’s a religion. As an 80’s kid growing up in South Florida, it was tough to round up enough kids to form a team in the league. Our coaches were baseball coaches. There have been improvements since then, sure. But, this will take a few more generations, at least. Hopefully, the US bandwagon fans will stick through the pain and suffering. And, hopefully the pay-to-play mentality will change.
    There is no chance that Uruguay (even their B team) is going to lose to USA right now. They are arguably the best team in all of the Americas, and contenders for the World Cup. Sitting back and being content with just making it out of the group stage is not in Uruguay’s DNA. They are going to go out there, press their opponents all over the field nonstop, and dominate all aspects of the game. Start packing, USA. 🇺🇾

  • @maudalmusicalmachines3541

    Puli and his teammates have exactly the right attitude - that it's a privilege to be here representing our country. If they play like that we can be proud. And then sack Berhalter... because it *is* that simple Casey.
    As for budgetary constraints... it's costing the USSF millions of dollars to prop Greggg up... and will cost hundreds of millions in the next few years.
    * half empty stands
    * more fans for other countries than for us when we're on home turf
    *Puli sells a buttload of Milan #11 shirts and how many #10 USMNT shirts?
    * Americans bought more Euro tickets than copa america tix
    * US doing everything it can to bring european top 5 league teams here.
    Why? Because Americans love winners [$$$$], meh losers and absolutely *will not tolerate* being embarrassed.
    Exactly *no one* trusts Berhalter to not embarrass us again.

And yes now Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Colombia had more public because any of them are candidates to win, but if Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela or Paraguay were the host of the tournament they will be there in thousands. Please, be serious, USA fans are nothing. you dont get the game. And its ok, you got interest in other stuff, beisbol, futbol americano, basquetbol, hockey de hielo, etc.

      @@matuvarela3760exactly. No amount of money can buy culture.

      Use your head for a minute and research average attendance in Copa America 2024.
      It is 59,000.
      The US filled the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta with 65,000.
      Dying and Killing for their teams? that is so 3rd world mentality. At least you can go with your family to the stadiums in the US and sit next to the opponent.
      In Colombia, you cannot attend a clasico wearing your team's jersey because they kill you and on top of it; they only average 23.000 fans per game.
