For the lava pits it will look so much cooler if you add black stained glass instead of the regular🧡🖤
love the lave floor but maybe replaced the regular glass with orange stained glass it might look a bit cooler

Also, I have build placement anxiety as well. What helps me is just to put a tower of blocks in about the center of where I want to put something and about how tall I want the build to be. Then I wander around and decide if I like the sight line. It helps a bit, and it's cheap and doesn't have the, 'I don't want to build it twice' sensation that I get from doing a test in creative.

lmao, if it makes ya feel better, you are to spruce as i am to dark oak lol, i bet everyone has their preferred wood type when building lol
episode two of suggesting client-side mods that i think would fit the vibe:
bedrock waters - back when you first visited the cherry grove in this series, you mentioned how you loved the color of the water. bedrock edition actually has unique water colors for most biomes in the game (including the unused variants), and this mod ports them over to java edition. i really think it helps the different biomes have their own identities and just generally be more cohesive. biomes like the wonderful old growth taigas are even better when they have their own water colors.
no idea why java edition doesn't just let you have these with a resource pack like bedrock does, but at least there are people willing to mod the game to bring bedrock's beautiful, beautiful water over.
