+Machamp Honestly, Michael had a simple deck. There wasn't really an extra deck involved, so honestly, Michael might not have been able to get over it at all.

No over-reliance on XYZ, synchro, or pendulum monsters...silly mistakes and dramatic announcements...THIS is the Yu-Gi-Oh I've always found fun to play and watch.
Professionals are never fun to play with.
***** I like the simplistic game. I like turns where the tension is high, I like the idea of monsters surviving long enough for tributes without having to read books of effects. I preferred Mirror Force being the most dangerous thing on my mind.
I miss when the Toon monsters were the longest effects I had to read.
Insane plays and combos are fun, yes, when they're new and exciting and something unexpected. Original. Yet as I play competitively, I see it all the same. Same combos, same decks. Monarchs, Kozmo, Mermail occasionally, some Abyss, Performapals.
I enjoyed games where the starting move was maybe 3 face-downs and a set monster. Instead of waiting 5-10 minutes for the other player to throw out all their convoluted cards to get out their best monster first turn. Where's the excitement in that? I loved when I used to top deck my Blue Eyes. THAT was exciting, WHOA, I might get to use Blue-Eyes this game!
I like the idea that I can get a dead hand in a game and know I still have a chance, instead of knowing automatically that they're going to OTK me.
And I ESPECIALLY prefer that if the OTHER person gets a dead hand, they don't Rage Quit.
We all have our preferences. I prefer what the game started out as. I get that the new game has its appeals. The new game and the original game, though, are two ENTIRELY different games. Obviously people will prefer one or the other.
+darkghor I use a Joey Wheeler Deck for fun play. It's a fun kind of nostalgia. The game shouldn't be taken as seriously as that guy rayshadow says it should

I honestly think that Michael played Steamroid and Rush Recklessly, not knowing about Swords of Revealing Light, and then played Heavy Storm after realizing that he had it face-down XDD
So he was a pro this time
Not to mention he didn’t even need Rush Recklessly since Steamroid’s ability would have boosted its ATK during the attack.
I guess we will never hear from Andrew again :(

But the reason Wildheart couldn't attack Clayman was because Wildheart's attack was higher than Clayman's. The skyscraper card only boosts Elemental HEROES' attack if their attack is lower than the target.

If andrew didnt play torrential tribute for no reason, the he couldve stalled with metal reflect slime due to it having 3000 defense points until he couldve found a way to destroy wild heart.

No. Wildheart would attack Andrew's face down card, Michael would pass turn, Andrew would pass his turn (since it's apparent he didn't have anything playable), Michael would summon the Prisma, brain control the slime and win the game. If Andrew plays Torrential when Michael summons Prisma then Wildheart would still live. Either way Michael wins.

At 9:00 When Michael summons elemental hero wildheart you can very faintly hear Andrew say to himself that the card is unaffected by trap cards, and yet he still tried using a trap card on that monster. I smell a fix here...

Fun fact: the shadow realm never existed in the original Japanese version of yugioh. It was made up by 4kids to censor death.
No, that's a lie. It was renamed from Darkness/Hell/Tons of other names to Shadow Realm, but the effect was the same. Unless you are going to tell me that the giant shadow fields that pop up in the Shadow Games are just for the lolz.

There were "dark games" where the monsters were real and the loser had to pay a penalty (usually death) but there was no "shadow realm". Mai was put in a coma and was going to die if Yami Marik wasn't defeated in (I think) 24 hours (also she would probably have died if she took Ra's attack instead of Yami). She wasn't sent to the shadow realm. Joey was nearly killed, not sent to the shadow realm (he even stopped breathing). Yami Bakura was supposed to disappear/die against Marik not "get sent to the shadow realm" but he survived because of the piece of his soul in the millenium puzzle. Yami Marik died at the end, he wasn't "sent to the shadow realm". Etc. The purple fog just meant that it was a dark game. The shadow realm was made up by 4kids to censor deaths, from both dark games and other causes (for example they changed Marik stabbing his father to death to sending his father to the shadow realm).
Darth Vader I'm fairly sure getting your soul devoured amounts to the same thing as getting killed. I'm fairly sure they use the Shadow Realm as another name for Hell at some points in 4Kids, so the name still works.
I do want to mention that even in the original, it's mentioned how it's Joey's soul being attacked and how the shadows were devouring him. It wasn't too different

I wanted them to play this more at first. But then I realized the new yugioh cards aren't monsters anymore.
Now all are just reviving and area effect to the point the its an endless cycle of doing damage/losing your card/reviving your card/reviving your life points. No one wins.

I thought the same thing when I got back into yugioh after all these years but once you get into the whole synchro/xyz thing, you realise that there is way more strategy involved with building a deck these days with those additions.
Playing Fire Fists do take a lot of skill to play because there are so many options for it
The thing is in modern yugioh, usually the most you're going to gain life points is when your opponent plays upstart goblin, which lets them draw a card, and gives you +1000lp. And a lot of people say the game revolves around monster effects now more than anything else, which is kinda true.

its just theiy editet the shadow realm into some scenes where it never was part of in the first place,namely the mask-guys,but in the Duell between
Yami Bakura and Yami Marik(or Malic as he is called in japanese properly short for malicious wich means evil because he refered to himself as evil-site of marik) theiy do both say that the loser becomes part of Yami no sekai,and the main thing about Marik using the shadow realm to create dangerous duells was still 100% true he did send Mai to the shadow realm in the japanese version just as he did in the US version of the show,its just that some scenes in the anime included real-death situations wich were not adding anyhting to the plot aside from tension,so theiy might aswell be part of shadow realm. so yea theiy editet that part,for obvious reasions,but other then those real-deaths nothing was changed at all,the story still unfolds the same way it did in the german translation wich was directly from the usa-adaption.this entire "rumor" about the false adaption is simply that,not true,i watched the japanese version and the german version,and aside from better openings and different music and some rather unimportant deaths of characters,nothing actually changed,the kay points and overall story was still the same,and even with the inclusion of the shadow realm in parts where it did not matter,the story still doas not change at all.
The Shadow Realm was an actual thing in the original anime. I don't know know where people are getting this info from. True, it may have been incorporated more into the dub than the original but it was still a part of the series before it was translated and dubbed into english for western audiences.
The ironic thing about that is that, by making characters who simply died go to the Shadow Realm, they were subjecting them to a fate worse than death. In trying to make the show more kid-friendly, they made it less so.
